  1. Images of the first ScotRail livery samples just released by Oxford.
  2. August 1983 to April 1985, last few months of this being in Doncaster Works.
  3. Understand the ship arrived at Felixstowe on Friday so presumably the consignment will reach Barwell this week what with customs, transport, etc.
  4. Only the occasional test run so far, IIRC this was the 3rd visit.
  5. The sidings at Knighton Junction have been reinstated as a road transfer point for UKRL as Leicester depot is unsuitable for this. 27059 has been under restoration at Cranmore and is awaiting transfer to Leicester for further work. I presume its short rail journey has yet to take place due to the refurbishment work taking place at the depot ready for the Derby blockade and consequent lack of space.
  6. Renumbered to avoid a number clash with Class 25s on TOPS, same reason the CKs were changed.
  7. From what I can recall from the early 1990s, there was the large vehicle gate down by the bufferstops and the rest was a wall.
  8. Yes, the rainbow vinyls are at the standard class end only. The nine-cars are due for completion by mid July, 390049 should have just gone in, leaving 390001/002/050 to do. Widnes will then switch to the 11-cars so should see the first one in early August. Virgin has put some vinyls on 91103 as well but less extensive http://www.flickr.com/photos/albmurray/42597010051
  9. Its low profile, same spec as the 117.
  10. 37104 was painted in Railfreight General in May 1988 at Stratford. Next livery was Departmental Grey, which it was outshopped in from Doncaster in December 1989.
  11. They did need brake hose extensions between the 50 and 4-TC though. It was a regular pairing during mid 1989 as 50s took over the Salisbury turns from 33/1s but there weren't enough Mk.2s available initially to replace the TCs.
  12. Understand they are due in at Barwell around mid June.
  13. The May 11th entry on the Gloucestershire-Warwickshire Railway rolling stock blog might start the froth generator. Not necessarily Hornby of course http://cwatgwsr.blogspot.co.uk 'They were from a railway modelling company come to measure up some wagon for their next projects. The Syphon G was easy. Its just outside the workshop and is easy to access. The other vehicle, a wagon, is at Cheltenham somewhere towards Hunting butts Tunnel. So having photo'd and measured the Syphon we set off.Needless to say after a few shouts of glee 'we have found it' followed soon by a 'no that's a 20 ton version' Apparently the 16 ton version we were looking for is supposed to be very different.'
  14. The HST is gloss according to the info released.
  15. Dapol were asked directly, reply was five JHA in original, five in revised - two outers, three inners for both.
  16. To add to Nick's post, both are owned by RMS Locotec and at the locations given. 08871 is now in the company's blue and grey livery but 08847 retains unbranded Cotswold silver http://www.flickr.com/photos/39918537@N04/40916194772
  17. 45041 and 46045 with 31271. Waiting to be tripped from the yard to the Nene Valley by 47813 for the diesel gala. They moved on Thursday evening after the original journey from the Bluebell terminated short on Monday.
  18. This was indeed first shots of the tooling rather than a fully fitted out 1st EP. Mechanism is low profile as per the Realtrack 156 so no internal intrusion apart from a slightly raised floor. 1st shots of the Class 158 aren't far away either.
  19. Eastfield being Eastfield and seeing what they could get away with in terms of customisation. In this case, it met with a response to remove PDQ.
  20. Don't forget the red/blue livery was also used by the Mechanical & Electrical Engineers department, to whom these coaches belonged. It didn't just signify Research or Derby based stock. AFAIK, these early Mk.1 breakdown train conversions were new in the livery before the switch to yellow was made for later conversions.
  21. It was, unsurprisingly, an Eastfield job, pre-dating the white stripes. Applied in Feb 83, lasted around 3-4 weeks.
