  1. Its worth mentioning that the wagons aren't really suitable for the National Power years as they are modelled after EWS bought them, which initially meant the new TOPS code of HKA and renumbering. This was followed by fitting new TF25 bogies from 2009 and these are what have been modelled.
  2. That's correct, the three 158s and the 159 will now all be released in both DCC ready and DCC sound versions.
  3. Its usually the first day of the London toy fair, which is Jan 22nd.
  4. ScotRail liveried Mk.2s are 5945/52/55/65/76/87, 6027, 6137/76/77/83, 9488, 9527/39.
  5. It's one of the Japanese build that's come in via Southampton.
  6. As I understand it, high cost of tooling and assembly would have meant a high RRP that the market may not have supported, think of the wailing about the last Presflo batches and add a bit more on top. Lack of liveries also a factor.
  7. The parts are referred to as headspans by the kit manufacturer, both in their advertising and on the packets. Given there were six different kits involved in the review, the same terminology was retained in order to aid identification of the parts being dealt with.
  8. As the author of the Hattons piece you are commenting on, I have contacted Chris at Kernow today and he is quite happy with the content as posted and for similar items to appear in future updates. It is solely a monthly model news round-up page designed to inform modellers who may not be on forums, as per any paper-based magazine. Nothing more is to be inferred from the items appearing there. The companies featured have welcomed the extra and free publicity they are receiving.
  9. It has run both this year and last but no longer covers Aberdeen. Route is Aviemore, Perth, Dundee, Carnoustie (run round), Dundee, Perth, Aviemore, Inverness, Moy. 67003 took the wagons back to Mossend last Saturday.
  10. They all return to York Leeman Road for cleaning and servicing and then await the next autumn.
  11. They're not that uncommon, usually several during the course of a year on ebay. The HST is much harder to find, certainly without paint damage.
  12. 345004 and 345055-70 have yet to leave Derby but I suspect most if not all are built.
  13. http://www.flickr.com/photos/robmcrorie/44528042164 It's the gated compound with the two Class 88s in it, above the Freightliner depot.
  14. - 47705/714 painted at Stratford in mid 1989 - 47702 painted at Glasgow Works in August 1990, it did work for a short time in Scotland before going south - 47707/710/711/715/716 all painted at Old Oak Common in 1990, 47709 done at Doncaster same year - 47701/708 painted at Old Oak Common in 1991
  15. Here's some more of Old Oak Common, starting with further elevations of the pump house and tracing the pipes through to the Factory. I did photo survey most of the site before closure so have a few more of this area if needed.
  16. Four pics of the then disused discharge equipment at Old Oak Common in 2008. .
  17. Normally, the loco brings in the Edinburgh-Carstairs portion for the southbound working and then waits for the northbound to arrive.
  18. Most of the spare 321 trailers have been scrapped now.
  19. The container liveries and registrations are a bit mixed up on this pair, the Bell and Cast are fine for the1990s, MSC, Evergreen and Stolt are late 1990s-2000s, the Maersk are the mid-late 2000s version onwards. C=Rail containers will not fit directly over the twistlocks as the corner recesses are a slightly different shape and position, will need a bit of trimming or filing.
  20. The bogies on the POT are newly tooled B5, they should also be under the POS rather than the stand-in B4.
  21. DB is believed to be doing something with two locos, also a Class 800 getting vinyls.
  22. First red repaints were in 1986, blue/grey was gone on the TPOs by mid 1990.
