  1. No problem. I know it will sound epic as its been professionally developed with care, love and lots of dedication. If you plan to do a standard DC Rail Class 60 at some point. I would love to see an offering of 60046 or 60055 although it is understood that Cappagh 60028 that is coming will have the newer generation headlight boxes? (Sorry I don't know the official name of these). There could be an option for 60046, 60055 and possibly 60099 that the real thing is coming back into service at the end of the year with DC Rail unless they plan to do a heritage livery of it in Construction or Coal Sector.
  2. Just bought the DCR one right now! Special Delivery to boot as well! I plan to get the review up at the weekend. Non sound for now as I like to test drive new models but I will get sound later though. I am becoming a big fan of DC Rail and Cavalex Models. They have a new customer for life on their hands as I love to support companies like this. I am gleefully rubbing my hands as the e-mail alert beeper goes off on my phone right now as my order is confirmed. I will post my video review here hopefully at the weekend for you all. Glad I made the investment.
  3. I will keep an eye out for a YouTube review. I plan to do a Colas or a DCR one!
  4. Well to be honest brother, the sound version is going to have a EM2 speaker installed in the model and that will be epic in its own right. It will have a better bass sound for the low frequency rumbles that should try to help capture the real sound more effectively when its decoded by the amp. Also make sure to reward yourself after all the hard work we do because we deserve it and I am happy that I am able help inspire others 😉. You won't believe what I have planned for my dream model railway when I get it built once I have moved to another part of the world. Exciting times ahead and I am loving the energies from my goals. I look forward to seeing the artwork of the Class 60 packaging from Cavalex Models when they develop it.
  5. Buy both of them mate! You know you want to! 😉.
  6. I heard that 60081 is going to be cosmetically only restored for the 1:1 collection. I would assume the power unit will be patched up to look fit to the eye but I will assume it will be non running. I for one am looking forward to getting 60062 in the "tiger" livery :). I think I am going to get 60098 with sound as that one being the 1000th Brush Traction locomotive to be built. It has a unique history and if DCR (I assume they own this one) will consider painting it into a heritage triple grey livery with the same names. That would be a nice one to see out and about. Provided that Wabtec can turn it around into a usable locomotive. Might be possible though as Wabtec has been converting a lot of American GE Dash 8's, Dash 9's and AC4400's into a rebuilt Wabtec AC44C6M's. Makes me wonder if something like this could be done with the UK Class 60's? Perhaps the rebuild could be something like an AC37CM that would be a Class 60 shell but with AC traction motors and new modernised equipment that would be cheaper than a cost of a new locomotive? The code would be AC for AC traction motors, 37 for 3700hp like on a Class 70 and the last two letters would be C for Co-Co and M for "Midi" bodyshell as the walkways would be inside the Class 60 like on the real things and there is no risk of falling off the locomotives for mechanics either. If DB sold all their Class 60's back to Wabtec and then leased them back from Wabtec as a AC37CM project that would be a new formed Class 60 but with new parts and AC traction motors etc like what is used on the GE/Wabtec AC44C6M. Wabtec would do all the maintenance and rebuilds etc and DB could save costs on the maintenance and benefit from the lower costs of leasing rather than owning them. On the model front of things to boot as well. This would give Cavalex Models another variation with the Class 60 for future models and possibly new sounds from AC traction motors and a new prime mover if the Class 60 MMC went ahead :). Anyway back to earth and away from dreamland. I am going to buy three models of 60010 now because I am going to have the other two renumbered as 60092 and 60015 respectively as I do like them in the DB red colours which I will admit does make them look smart indeed.
  7. Having just received my e-mail newsletter from Rails of Sheffield. I will be buying all three models from them. 60098 is a welcome addition in my eyes because Lima did that one that was for Brush Traction staff only and these sell for close to £300 when I last saw one on eBay a while ago. I like the tiger livery on 60062 as well so I might get that one. So here is my tally of planned Class 60's. 60010 60018 60062 60081 60098 I am going to be one happy bunny and Cavalex Models have just earned themselves a new loyal customer for life! I hope that in the future, they could consider doing a DB model of 60092 or 60015 with the large DB logos on the sides as Hornby has not done these and therefore no stepping on toes will be happening. In light of the the withdrawal of the real DB Cargo Class 60's. It would have been nice of them if they did a "Thank You Class 60 Railtour" or something along those lines. But I respect their decisions and they got 10 years of their initial investment from the overhauled Class 60's that took place in the early 2010's. So I wonder if this will be time for 60100 to go into preservation? Or would GBRF/DCR take more of them on? Could be viable if DCR wins the Kingsbury to Lindsey and the Westerleigh to Robeston oil contracts in the future. Who knows, but I want to take a moment of gratitude for that we still have the DCR/Cappagh and GBRF Class 60's with us on the mainline for us to appreciate. I am sure those that want a photo of 60062 will be able to grab a snap of it from Toton Bank. I was last there in 2016. Back on topic with the OO gauge model. I will look forward to running mine with my recently acquired set of 8 TEA-L tankers in VTG Blue and the VTG red livery. This timing for an all new Class 60 to go with this has been perfect. I am already getting excited for Christmas 2024 already. I will be watching the progress of the new model with enthusiasm and optimism as well. Keep up the great work Cavalex Models. I will look forward to seeing the painted samples in due course! You've got this! 😉.
  8. I like this! The option of having a choice is a great move in my opinion. Well done Cavalex Models. I for one will be looking to buying one of these Class 56's and doing a video review on it in due course. Keep up the great work please. I appreciate these model trains you do.
  9. I know and I am sure the wait will be well worth it 😉.
  10. I would take a couple of the Class 185's for the happy times I had on them when I used to live in England until 2017. I would like the "Stained Glass" TPE livery please.
  11. Well considering all that investment into their 2022 Class 60 upgrades to 21 pin and looking at the stats of the popularity of 60001/2 being low. I would have thought perhaps a Colas model of 60056 or something would have been added into the range. Also the sheer lack of EWS Class 60's since 2010 also was missed. No matter though to me because I have my needs catered for elsewhere. Thanks for the link though buddy :).
  12. Can I propose a brand new Class 70? - For the win! 😂🤣. Joking aside, I wouldn't say no to a tasty Class 33! 😉. I will leave that in your hands Fran and Co.
  13. Sadly there is nothing much to float my hype boat. Maybe we will get more offerings in 2025 from Hornby but I am not holding my breath on this. Other brands will be getting my custom this year. With the recent bad news about Hattons, Warley and the basic offerings from Hornby. I am getting concerned about the future range of model trains being offered if at all. I will hope and pray that things will right themselves 😥.
  14. Do you ship to the US? Just asking for a friend :).
  15. I just managed to get a VTG blue one today from Pete's Spares. That will make me a nice 7 consist.
  16. Sadly there is nothing for me in their 2024 range. But I do like the GNER HST though. I might get it.
  17. Other options are PayPal Pay in 3 and PayPal Credit if this helps. I use the former a lot for my purchases. Hope this helps.
  18. Nice catch on those in the video. I do appreciate the chug and the scream from the turbocharger!
  19. Thanks brother. I appreciate it and I am following you too. I only have my life coaching channel on there for now but I may make a new one for model trains and creativity.
  20. Has anyone got 32 of these tanks and a Hornby Class 60 to haul them? I fancy watching a video clip of them on someone's layout ;).
  21. I got my 6 this week. Beautiful models too. Not found anything wrong with mine. Maybe I am just lucky :). However some are being resold on eBay at way above the RRP. Although these are really nice models so I am happy I got mine from Hatton's and TMC as well as one from Rails. No connection, just a happy bunny ;).
  22. This is another model I am getting excited about! What livery should I go for now? Ah decisions! 🤣.
  23. That's grand. I hope 60098 ends up there if not 60100. But that said though. I would have happy to see any Class 60 preserved at Crewe as LSL/Hornby is/will be having 60081 at the 1:1 collection if what I have been reading is true?
  24. To be honest mate. I don't know the logical answer when GBRF and DC Rail are seeing their as viable assets that are still usable. I think the decision dates back to the days of EWS when they wanted to bin everything but the Class 66's and they have been doing this for a while. Personally I would have got in touch with GE and see if they can use the bits from the Class 70 range of parts like the power unit, traction motors etc to put inside the Class 60 shell and replace all the controls with GE ones and the IFD (Information Display Screens) etc to build a new cheap locomotive that would still be classed as a Class 60 or even a Class 60 MMC (Major Model Change). But I am just being resourceful and I don't like waste (that's the Virgo in my natal chart lol) :). On a happier note. I have reached out to my buddies at Rails of Sheffield and I have proposed a couple of EWS branded models that no one has done in super detail form and not even Lima has done these two. I have proposed for EWS era 60008 either unnamed or named as "Sir William McAlpine" with the yellow wipacs and 60038 in the EWS livery as well. I have a like for any locomotives that are ex-Loadhaul and both of those did wear Loadhaul livery too. Therefore I would mind the Loadhaul livery but I would like to see a EWS Class 60 as 60008 from Cavalex Models as it would have the yellow wipacs as 60018 has the black wipacs (headlight boxes in English). For a modern day model of a Cavalex Models Class 60 in DB Cargo. I have proposed to Rails of Sheffield two numbers in the DB Cargo red livery for them to consider that are safe ones to make which are 60015 and 60092 in the DB red livery with the large DB logos as Hornby has done 60062 and 60100 in that livery and these proposals would avoid any conflicts with the Hornby models and those could be unique additions for Rails of Sheffield in their exclusive range. For now. I am excited to see that progress is doing well with the all new Cavalex Models Class 60 and I will be getting a few of them for sure.
  25. Interesting points though buddy. Although 60100 is the last UK built full sized freight locomotive and 60098 being the 1000th from Brush. I would have thought that 60100 would be earmarked for the NRM collection? Also there is the Crewe Heritage Centre that might want one as well as the Bo'ness railway could take one in amongst others. I would assume that there will be some preserved Class 60's at some point which is more than enough for me. With that information in mind, I can safely disregard that post about 60001 and 60100 that was made around 2014/2015 that was on the WNXX forum. Although it may be game over for the DB Cargo Class 60's. I would assume that GBRF and DC Rail will be using theirs for a fair while to come so its not the end entirely for the Class 60's and who knows. DCR or GBRF could gain more heavy haul contracts from DB Cargo and that could mean more Class 60's active in their fleet. I hope DCR will consider doing a heritage triple grey livery on one of their Class 60's and this would be perfect for Cavalex Models to do in their range.
