  1. Completely agree, I saw an amazing looking P4 layout recently, as a diorama it was superb. However, as soon as any engine approached a set of points it would stall time and again, then wagons would derail even on straight track. It just became frustrating to watch.
  2. Well, I wasn’t expecting that
  3. I wasn’t aware of that, but that’s great news.
  4. For those who don’t want traction tyres, I hope that Brassmasters continue their easichas range for this particular loco, as they have done for the 1F, 3F and 4F. Other than that, it looks fantastic and I hope it is as good, if not better than the existing Midland engines, produced by Bachmann.
  5. It doesn’t need to. I’ve not seen 1Ps pulling any more than 3 carriages in any photos.
  6. Wow they look fantastic! Relieved I have some time to save for them as I imagine they will sell well
  7. Did they shed any light on when this was expected to be released?
  8. I've just heard about the strike action from West Midlands Railway. I live in Lichfield and I don't have access to a car right now. Does anyone know how to get from Lichfield to Birmingham International without a car or a West Midlands Trains Service on Saturday for half 8?
  9. It's a drop in the ocean but it'll be conveniently forgotten about once the election is over.
  10. Predicting that Hornby will make an LSWR T3, Stephenson's Rocket and matching coaches, a new buffet/restaurant coach from one of the big 4, GWR Iron mink Some other new products but those are my guesses
  11. Glad to see quite a few other people wanting a remake of the 14xx.
  12. Really interesting thread, great modelling. Apologies if you've already said, but is Totnes Castle a Malcolm Mitchell kit of a Hornby model with a comet chassis?
  13. This is a very interesting announcement. I'd long wondered why with the rising cost of bogie carriages and shortage of space that we all face why there weren't some RTR 4-wheel and 6-wheel coaches but our prayers have now been answered. It's interesting that they will be a generic type repainted for the different companies. I imagine this won't bother most people but I hope that it won't be too hard to make amendments to get them to represent an accurate coach from a pre-grouping company. I hope this doesn't put manufacturers off from releasing accurate coaches in future, in favour of introducing a generic coach.
  14. 3 month delay is neither here nor there so it's good to see the Mogul progressing. For someone who knows more about Prairies, is it easy to convert a member of the 31XX to the 3150 variant?
  15. I hope the Prairie isn't completely dropped, would be nice to see an alternate version to the Hornby classes like the Churchward 3150 or something. I've noticed that Dapol tend to release different versions of a model in the second batch so we may see that yet with the Mogul.
  16. That's very promising. Should be a good seller
  17. Did they mention any of the other detail differences that they have tooled for with the 1532 class like a Johnson smokebox door? They look stunning, and I'm glad that they shouldn't be too hard to convert to EM/P4 too.
  18. Very interesting and informative video Andy, thank you.
  19. Bachmann never fail to disappoint with quality. The 94xx and 1P look fantastic.
  20. Hello, I'm currently detailing some coach rakes for a model railway based on the Ambergate to Chinley line in the early to mid 50s. I've seen that sankey scenincs do coach destination boards for MK1s but I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get some coach destination boards for ex-LMS coaching stock (i.e. Porthole and period 3 stanier) for this period? I'm presuming they used different boards to the BR MK1 stock.
  21. I was having a rewatch of the Bachmann Andy York video from last year and in the big folder that Bachmann have compiled on the loco, it caught my attention that they had included close-up photos of the Johnson smokebox door variant. Hopefully this is a good sign that this early variation has been catered for in a future model?
