  1. I think the LSWR bought a terrier at one point too so it's still a possibility for the future.
  2. The artwork shows the shorter safety valve so hopefully this error has been picked up by Hornby.
  3. I sent a message to Paul Isles about the liveries of the different variations of the large prairie. He has responded and he is happy for me to put this information on the forum; R3719 is G W R (plain green) R3721 is GREAT WESTERN (plain green) R3723 is Early Emblem BR (plain black) R3725 is Late Emblem BR (Lined Green)
  4. Yeah that's true and fair play to Hornby as it looks like they will beat Dapol to market for both the A1 and the Prairie. The latter does look better than the Dapol version to my eyes but I'm looking forward to Miss Prism inspecting it. What were the clues with regard to Hornby developing the Terrier as I completely missed them?
  5. The corridor Bow Enders being back in the 27-34 livery is nice. Very happy with these announcements!
  6. Which GWR liveries are R3719 and R3721 in Andy?
  7. Lots of nice stuff in there, particularly the Large Prairie and GWR coaches. Doubt the people at Dapol are particularly happy today though!
  8. Yayyyy! Been wanting these for a while, happy days, nice one Hornby!
  9. If they have an agreement in place and Hattons have broken that then surely they are well within their rights to take action?
  10. I often see this point made by D&E modellers but I've never seen any statistics which actually back this up. Do you have any evidence to support this claim? If steam was falling in popularity I think some of the manufacturers would have reacted to this already rather than continuing to invest in steam.
  11. Whats is this about Bachmann cancelling something nearly ready to go? Is that something that hadn’t been announced?
  12. I'm hoping that as Dapol thought it was worth doing in 0 gauge then Bachmann or another manufacturer will see that as worthwhile in 00. With the prices being what they are these days and the current 57xx being pretty decent with a bit of work I personally wouldn't bother if it still had a topfeed. We'll see what happens though, I'm getting a bit ahead of myself as nothing has even been announced yet.
  13. That's interesting, not sure I would want traction tyres though
  14. That's good to hear, you've got me all excited now! Completely agree with regards to the topfeed, I feel they missed a trick in that regard with the 64xx. Agree on the coaches, some new centenary stock, toplights or sunshine stock would be fantastic. I get the feeling that the suburbans/b sets are more likely to come from Dapol or Hornby.
  15. When did Bachmann say they would retool the 8750 pannier? I missed that announcement A B set would be fantastic, I would have at least 2 of the E140 sets
  16. I hope we get a Manor/Saint as I trust Bachmann to do them justice. Also, RTR manufacturers seem to be releasing wagons that are already available as kits. Can they please start doing this for the former cooper craft and blacksmith ranges rather than parkside dundas please. I need some more GWR cattle and open wagons!
  17. That's great thank you. Beforehand, I was thinking that there needed to be a brake coach at each end of every train. Thanks, I've had another look and you're right, there are an awful lot of 2 coach trains, although in the early emblem period there are some 3 coach trains. It'll be good to have that variation not just between coach types but also length. Thanks for your help with regard to corridor stock too.
  18. I'm fairly certain of a Princess Royal Class because of hints dropped by Paul Isles and I think there was something in one of the magazines about it being measured. Paul Isles has also posted photos of the LSWR T3 and on the day of the announcement last year he put a picture of the Bluebell Carriage works with something about starting work on next year already. He also put a photo up of a GWR mink van the other week. On that basis, I'm nearly certain of the Princess Royal. The A1/A3 that the stationmaster alluded to is also a good bet given the clue in the advert. I previously guessed LBSCR coaches but I'd like to change that to an LNWR observation car that's also at the Bluebell. If not this year, then next year for a T3. Also, wasn't there some clue about a tanner onner in one of the videos? A large prairie despite Dapol also having released one? An expansion of one of the existing coach ranges. Most of those aren't particularly out-there though. A few people have mentioned Rocket and that would certainly be eyebrow raising! Not going to attempt guessing the diesels/electrics as I know little about them.
  19. Thanks, so if I have a three coach train, for example it could be a BTK, CK and then it could be a compartment third or do I need to have brake coaches at each end of the train?
  20. Hello, I've been doing some research on the GWR line to Launceston and I'm trying to figure out the coaching stock that was typically used in the early 50s. It seems that a pair of Hawksworth auto trailers were common on the Tavistock shuttle service in the 50s but I can't work out what coaches were used on the Launceston service. I've heard a B set mentioned but in the 50s it looks like 3 corridor coaches were more common. I've got the oakwood press book on the line but there's not much info on coaching stock in there. I've been trying to decipher some of the photos but beyond it being a mix of Hawksworth and Collett, I can't work out what types of coaches they are. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
  21. A newly tooled A1/3? I thought that the current release was fairly new and upto standard? I don't own one though so I may well be very wrong on that
