American O Scale: "Portway Terminal Short Line, MN".
JAMO replied to F-UnitMad's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
The result is not bad. Maybe too thick. For my fences, I've bought tulle roll in light gray for wedding decorations. -

Work in progress here. The daddy has changed the track along the REA building because it wasn't parrallel with the building. Now, my son can weather and ballast the track by himself.

Yesterday afternoon, we have cuted and installed some thick cardboard to continue the scenery. The REA building will have a nice basement now. I have to adjust the building to follow the track and next, add a goods plateform. My son don't make the kits. No problem: we work together: I help him. And I like to model HO trains too. At the other end, we try asphalt from AK interactive. Let it dry now. My son continues the scenery installing foam. I put a screw to keep the things at their place during the glue was drying. Previously, there was a bridge there but he likes more grass and trees than concrete.

This is a paper kit I've bought on ebay from an English producer (Model Railway Scenery). It's very realistic. I've bought an old factory too. When built, the result is fantastic. You're right about the bracing of the doors : I've made a mistake! It's not too late to correct it The factory:

Yes I hope too! He is good for the weathering and for the scenery. Another view with more scenery. He is installing now some grass in the track. The photos will follow very soon.

I've found a second hand Loksound V4 decoder (from a friend of mine). With a 539T loaded sound, here is the result.

Merry Christmas Jordan and to all the followers! Thes two F units are impressive! I hope one day to modify my old Roco/Atlas models into well detailed models like that! -
I'm not sure to install the office onto this wooden basement. Anyway, now I have to make the old station. I've started with a cardboard support and... coffee stirrers again.

American O Scale: "Portway Terminal Short Line, MN".
JAMO replied to F-UnitMad's topic in USA & Canadian Railroads
I like the slow running of the switching and from time to time I'll be happy to see a massive train running all around my basement. On day I hope... For me it's a good solution to have a running layout and a shortline connected to an interchange. But in O scale we need space and it's a long work. -

These cars are really nice and finely detailed like European stock at that scale. -

Coming back to the coal dealer... I've built the roof using thin cardboard and styrene strips. The chimney is a small aluminium tube.

I've bought a lot of things from Power hobby. They are good quality sellers and they have cheap shipping fees.
