  1. More work... the "big" brass lock is used only when we carry the module. The "small" lock shares the current to the good track and lock the track in place. A wire will connect the rail to this lock.
  2. Oh! What a crime to paint a graffiti on such a nice caboose like that! I hope the police will find the graffer soon!
  3. Yes a nice disimmetry of the ends. And with Arch Bar trucks, it'll be better.
  4. This Photoshoped caboose will be certainly the next car I'll scratchbuild for my layout.
  5. The bobber caboose is pretty and I think it can be a nice transfer caboose on a shortline. Why not? It's the "modeler licence". As I always say: "it's your layout, you have to do what you want and what you like". I like this one too from <<Northroader>> for a shortline, it's very good!
  6. I don't know the differences between a V4 and a V5. I think it don't matter. The quality of the speaker is more important.
  7. What a nice idea you had! And the "bridge" over the two tracks can be decorated: you have a lot of possibilities. About the flat cars: the company has a special "warning" to follow when she provide a car to this entreprise: "only flat cars, no center beams allowed". Another possibility is to make a new short turnout and a curved spur to welcome the Center beams cars. It's only an idea. It's a lot of work to do.
  8. I've started to build the fiddle yard for exhibitions. It's a long sector plate. It will welcome 3 tracks.
  9. Now it's time to add sound to the Alco: I love the Alco 539T (and else) clung. I've just bought a Loksound V5L sound decoder and its adapter from ESU. The installation to follow...
  10. Here is my last work. One more building for the layout. I let my son to complete the scenery around it.
  11. Yes, 1:48 scale vehicles are very difficult to find. And who knows if the scale is exactly respected????? We don't know. Now we can find some nice models in 1:43 thanks to IXO Models (for Altaya) or else. I was lucky to find this nice truck in my newspapers/tobacco shop: Peterbilt 352 Found this one too: a Mack B61T and this one: an International
  12. Maybe too simple on the paper but in O scale, we love to look at the locomotive switching its cars slowly. The presence and the illusion of big weight are there. You don't need to have a big layout. It's different than with HO scale. Both scales have their advantages of course. I like both
  13. Oh!!!! Yes, you're right. It's the other way! 🥴 sh....it happens! I didn't saw. Thank you for the info!!!!!!
  14. As Keith said, a dummy door in a low-relief warehouse is good. I think it's better to see the cars outside. It's easier for the switching and to find the car number. I stay tuned to see the scenery progress
