  1. Hi Allan like everyone else I used to read railway modeller and be amazed at your buildings. I'm nowhere near your standard but getting better.......i think. I have been having a play trying different bonds,will post a pic soon.
  2. The bricks are 4mm scale, they measure 3mmx1mm. Bobs phone number is York 797156 as far as I know he isn't on the web so everything is snail mail. A pic to show the effect. It's not a quick method but effective I think.

  4. Hi birtiedog. I should have guessed a loco of that vintage would have lots of differences. I am looking forward to seeing the finished loco. Will you be painting it crimson or green? Regards steve
  5. Hi Bertiedog comparing the photo of your model and the photo of the loco it looks as if you will need to shorten the cab side sheets as they look to long also is the smokebox door correct for the period? Looking forward to seeing it finished Steve
  6. Thanks for all the help. Do I now repaint the twin or say sod it and leave it cos I like it and it wont be run anywhere but home mmmmmm time for a think!

  8. Hi 66C yes mine is 4mm but I think I have some etched trusses somewhere would it be better to use these(if I can find em)than the plastic ones on it already?
  9. Thanks 66c great photo to work from I have to make/find battery boxes,v hangers vac rods dynamos, buffers and roof vents. I will have to look through me spares and white metal bits and see what I have.
  10. I did realise about the divider for the toilets but as the windows are frosted/white do I need them. A case of not seen not needed or am I just lazy I will however alter the end compartments

  12. Thanks for the info Ravenser. I have a twin artic set in carmine and cream is the colour choose o.k. Hope it is cos it looks good. Will keep the coach for another day
  13. I have been given a lner coach its an Ian Kirk kit it has wheel sets and a roof. I have no idea what it is. Can anyone help? The next question is could I use the coach to turn an articulated twin into a three set? If I can it will be painted carmine and cream. There were no instructions and I don't have any info on gresley coaches so I'm stuck!! Thanks in advance Steve

  15. A mere mortals effort. The station building exists and is now an artists studio in Linconshire. Not finished but there is alot of bricks to stick on. I will finish it one day!!!

K's kits were ok if you were prepared to put some work in on detailing I.e.chucking out the plastic handrail knobs and the bl##dy awful hm2p motor wheels were ok sort of.I have only got 2 k's models left now the bulldog is using k's tender, bogie, and boiler fittings the rest is scratch built. The syphon is a cut down k's 6 wheel kit

  20. Can anyone help? I have a jidenco twin tank wagon I built 10ish years ago but cant find any white letters of the right size or type face. Has anyone got any ideas. I am no good at hand painting letters so waterslide or as a last resort rubdowns would be best thanks for any help Steve
  21. Cant find the words to say how impressed I am with the standard of work. I don't think I have ever seen better this is Tony Renolds in card so very very impressive,awesome modelling.i will follow this thread with interest. A humbled modeller
