  5. Steve1 how old are some of those kits? The old monogram box's look 60's are they collectable? They will be good as a base for detailing. Hours of fun for you there! Please post pics if you ever build them All the best Steve
  6. Thanks Terry the truck is an Albion AM463 the same as the 4x2 general service truck but with a fuel bowser. Steve
  7. Hi terry nice build. What scale is the re-fueller and is it a plastic kit or white metal? I would guess its either a Dennis or an early Bedford utility. All the best Steve
  8. Great models Clarence. Are they scratch from plans or kits (though much improved) I made a wooden kit of a dog cart for my grandfather many years ago. Grain filling to take paint was a pain in the bum so I only built the one! Again great models, skilled building and a superb finish.
  9. Hi Keith do you live in Coventry? I just realized I forget to mention that the gentleman who ran Finisters was a founder member of the Coventry Model Railway Club his first name was I think Ron but his surname escapes me. Ron's shop in Biggin Hall Cresent was at one time the only place you could but Tamiya kits he also had a lovely daughter called Elaine......so two reasons for a Saturday shopping trip!! All the best Steve
  10. My one and only layout was called SHORTBY. Four feet long 25inches wide + a 15 in long fiddle yard. It was sold on 20ish years ago. Still trying to make another!! Steve
  11. Shame on you all! Conversations with SWMBO who wears the trousers? I know I do........as long as I am informed of the colour required......definitely no jeans regardless of colour only beatnicks wear them apparently. All the best Steve
  12. Enjoyed reading about your exploits with elcktricery. I still don't understand what's going on but it looks great! I did wire a layout once using the principle feed everything and get ride of what you don't need. It worked ok......just,there were only 4 turnouts though All the best Steve
  13. Nice build Penlan. It's nice to see a finished Mallard kit. I suspect a lot got started and not finished. I have 2 gwr bulldogs still boxed I bought them second hand over 10 years ago. Will never build them now. All the best Steve
  14. I guess that will be when they finish tarmacking the drive!! Lol all the best Steve
  15. Stubby I have yet to find anything that will prevent the escape of high pressure wind!! I do like your idea for the trackplan though All the best Steve
  16. Chris having looked at the pic again could it be that the lead flashing has been laid over the the original valley as a bodge repair? It's a bit odd as towards the bottom of the pic there are some very small bits of slate which look too small to be cuts? What do you think? " it's o.k.mate I can fix yet leak fer next to nufin" All the best Steve
  17. Well they do say " you live and learn " I have not seen a valley flashed like that before. Thanks Allan and my apologies to Al. It goes to show there is a prototype for everything. All the best Steve
  18. 4 N.I.P.P.L.E.s? That's just greedy. You can have too much of a good thing you know. Steve
  19. Stubby with a post like that I guess you will be standing in the forthcoming elections? Or at least join the civil service. Your talent for written gobbledygook cannot be wasted!! Lol Steve
  20. Rob you might consider making 2 N.I.P.P.L.E fabrications as a single N.I.P.P.L.E may look odd. Just a thought Steve
  21. When I lived in Coventry my local model shop was Modellers World. It was owned by Barry Jones and yes he did produce some etched L.N.W.R coaching stock. There were some 6 wheeled coaches. Some short bogie stock,a dining car 12 wheeler. He was also working on the royal train stock. If my memory serves me right there were also a couple of vans ( bicycle van?) What happened to the art work and who bought the range I have no idea. A certain Mr Pete Waterman was a regular in the shop on a Saturday along with Ralph Jackson of Jackson Evans nameplates,Mr Shaw of Shawplan. It was a great place to meet and chat on a Saturday. Loads of bits and pieces, kits and rtr to buy. Brings back great memories. All the best Steve
  22. I once had a set of plates etched by Ralph Jackson for a narrow gauge loco "PYSPOR" was its name and it always ran a it's name suggested. The moral is be careful what name you chose!! Steve P.S. It was a bad take on the W.H.R. Russell
  23. Hi all, shock horror it seems that some modelling has taken place since I last visited the thread. The layout does look great though. Keep up the good work chaps All the best Steve
