  1. Fair point. I've found another site who assure me that they are promised their full allocation so let's see if Hornby keep their word. A bit fed up with these silly games and squabbles, from the Genesis coach duplication to the spat with Rails which leaves us caught in the middle (I feel sorry for those who had pre-orders of Hornby models via Rails that lost out, for example). It's supposed to be a fun hobby, not a source of stress. I am inclined to side with Rails and Hattons on this too - from my perspective they have both contributed enormously positively to the hobby in the recent years, especially in regards to the pre-grouping era. Is it really a massive threat to Hornby to see them bring out locos like the Caledonian 0-6-0 or Bluebell (both of which I have / have pre-ordered)? I don't think so.
  2. Absolutely apopletic at Hornby, they've acted like total cheats. I've just been told by Hattons that my pre-order has been cancelled as Hornby are refusing to supply them with their full allocation. So now I have to pay extra to buy through Hornby's own site. Absolute disgrace. I placed this order on 10 Jan 2020!
  3. Not a moan in any way but shame about the 14XX - I'm hoping someone releases a new version of that soon that isn't based on the old Airfix mould! Otherwise looks awesome.
  4. Just seen an Instagram post from Rails... delivery now 'mid September'. Last I saw it was June...
  5. Ugh, I know it can't be helped given the circumstances but still annoying!
  6. Has anyone seen any more updates re release date? Latest I saw was that these were due to be released this month
  7. Would love to see them produce one in the Metropolitan line livery currently being used for TfL excursions. I know you can get decals for it now, but I don't trust myself to do it properly. Maybe next year Bachmann?
  8. Just noticed that the BBC story on the East-West Oxford to Cambridge line has a picture of an APT for some reason!! Could it be about to have a comeback?? https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-51312450
  9. Likewise be great to hear updated timelines on both this and the Caledonian if possible
  10. Pleased they've brought this range out, but I also wish they'd re-release the Italo, even just as a Railroad version. I want more carriages and it is extortionately expensive to get hold of on eBay!
  11. Just compared my pre order to the Hornby prices and not too bad, thankfully... Hattons do a pack of 4 that works out at 50p more per carriage. Definitely sticking with my Hattons pre order
  12. Sticking with Hattons too! Think this was a bit of a petty move from Hornby - if it means they are going to produce more Pre-grouping locos as a result then great, but they've not offered anything new this year which is a shame. Just worked it out and the Hattons models are only £11 more for the 7 LNWR I've ordered, that's fine by me as the livery and detailing looks better to my eye than the Hornby ones.
  13. Yes fingers crossed. A Single too be great! And also be great to see this expanded to the Highlands Railway, would love to get a Jones Goods class in that golden ochre colour. https://preservedbritishsteamlocomotives.com/4f-103-4-6-0-hr-jones-goods/
  14. I can't stop looking at the decorated samples, what a beauty! I had been down for the preserved version but I now I've seen these samples I prefer the 'as built version' it, it's just stunning. Rails kindly agreed to let me switch to that version, looking forward to it.
  15. Hello everyone - has anyone heard any more news on this project from Peco or Kato. Particularly interested to know what might happen re the Double Fairlies. Suspect Covid has delayed things significantly, not least because I imagine the Kato team wouldn't have been able to travel here this year.
  16. Thanks @Locomotion No. 3 really looking forward to this model! Hope it sells well - would love to see more pre-grouping locomotives. Have you any plans to produce a replica of Gladstone? That would be the absolute dream!
  17. Hi @Oliver Rails, hope you're doing well. Just wondered if there way any update on this locomotive, and whether early 2021 is still looking feasible? Cheers!
  18. Hello @Oliver Rails hope you're keeping well - just wondered if there was an update on the project? I'm guessing Covid has delayed things a bit, is Q4 more likely at the moment? Cheers, David
  19. Hi Steve, just wondered if you're planning to get more in soon (and also how much you are selling them for if you don't mind sharing on here) Many thanks, David
  20. These are great. Which website did you use to buy them? I looked on totally Thomas but couldn't see them, have they sold out already? Hope not!
  21. I just made my Police Box spin! Just stuck it on a 2 by 2 Lego turntable piece. A bit silly but why not pan widget
  22. Do you reckon they might make it compatible with the old sets, coupling wise? I think this might be a bit out of my price range (not a complaint, just have a few other pre orders on the way) but would be tempted to get a 2 pack to make my 5 car current set into a 7 car set. TBH the original couplings pretty clumsy so fair enough if they don't...
  23. Thanks Brian for running the poll, it's appreciated by us all! Re the above, is there a place on this forum to discuss London Underground models, and what did LURS say about the above? Do you know if they are leading efforts to get more London Underground locos out there? I ask as I'm desperate for a Metropolitan E Class and I'm sure there are others out there who'd like to see it too (has it ever polled well btw?). Thanks very much, David
  24. Hi folks, I've got a Kato E5 series bullet train I've had about 3 years. It's having difficulties starting sometimes. It sometimes is fine, other times it needs a nudge to get going. Why do you think that is and what can I do to fix it? Other than that, it runs very well. I've recently taken apart the motor and put it back together (Kato models are just superb, straightforward to take apart and re-assemble, and not a single screw in sight, remarkable!). Everything seems to be in order/ the right place, and all wheels are clean + free of dust, yet the problem remains. I'm not that clued up on the basics of how motors etc work so any tips or advice gratefully recieved. Any good repair folks for N gauge locos would also be good to know! Thanks in advance, David
