  1. Of interest to me, and the only item from this year's announcement, is the Tyne Dock 9F. Another run of Consett hoppers from KR models on the horizon? Cheers from Oz, Peter C.

  3. Any chance of an F5/6 to fit the Bachy 2.4.2 chassis as well? Is the K5 conversion kit still a possibility? Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  4. Hi Jamie, you have mentioned several times in your 'Limoges' thread underlining numbers in your French 'ref'. What book(s) are these please? Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  5. Aaaahhh yes!!! The dreaded 'dead hour', when a lack of railway activity found youthful energies focused on alternative forms of entertainment, platform barrow racing anyone?? Compliments of the season to all from a daily reader and occasional contributor in Oz, Here's to 2023, Peter C.
  6. If you are looking for realistic coke loads, I can recommend this supplier. Contact him directly for bulk purchases! https://www.rmweb.co.uk/topic/174124-bazil-31-wagon-loads/#comment-4923600 Very satisfied customer! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  7. This started the new cruise/Covid season in Fremantle! Docked with 170 Covid+ passengers aboard! Some of the paintwork looked a bit shabby close up, not as elegant as the original Queens or QEII. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  8. A couple of local (WA) spots, both ends of the BL spectrum and both apparently daily drives. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  9. Like the N2 Steve, I did one some years ago to represent 69552, which was at Colwick for a while in the 1950s. Removal of the condensing pipes totally changes the appearance. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  10. These do look very good and delivered in what these days is a very short time. I have just gone back to the beginning of this thread and found my original query regarding 666 and 667 in BR days. Once the dust has settled I look forward to hearing the work on the conversion kit is under way, as the model looks very, very good! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  11. Sunday saw the first passenger carrying steam specials run by Rail Heritage WA for many a year. Admittedly it was only over a short distance at the Boyanup museum, but the event was well patronised and the trains were full. Here is a pic of the WAGR G class G233 at the start of the event, with my son Ian on crew duties! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.

  13. Seen today at lunchtime in Mundijong, a small town South-West of Perth. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  14. Looking at the images of the model and the real 1144, the filler cap appears to be a separate plastic fitting, so it will hopefully be reasonably simple to reposition it and the handrails. Fit a bell where the filler was originally and replace the safety valves with a GW milk churn and you're done! A companion for this little chap! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  15. I, (and I know several others), am still waiting for maroon Thompsons! I purchased a couple of c/cream examples and very nice they are, but by the late 1950's maroon was the norm. Similarly, with these Bulleids, as I understand it C/Cream was fairly uncommon on SR stock, so I will require green examples. With protracted delivery times at the moment, when that will be is anyone's guess! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  16. Sell it on Ebay, and use the vast amount generated as a down-payment on the latest Hornby offerings? (Or a bus ticket to your local model shop to look at them!). Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  17. Mine has also arrived in Oz, unheralded by any email or other notification. I have to say I am rather pleased with it; I ordered the green one and having run it in on a rolling road all seems well with my example. One side is of course correct, the other will be fitted with a correction kit if/when Corsair produces them. I was fortunate enough to see some of the BR early prototype diesels, unfortunately not this one or 10800. However, the Fell is fascinating to watch in action, and I am aware of the faults, but since I only look at one side at a time, it works for me! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  18. PM sent! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  19. Thank you for pointing that out, I am happy that I have ordered correctly! The discrepancy between descriptions at various retailers cost me money as I hesitated when contacted regarding the price rise! Ah well! Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  20. I am still confused over the descriptions and photos on Hattons site. Both 1081 and 1082 show a loco. with black bogies, yet it states that 1082 is black/silver final BR condition? I have 1082 on a preorder from Kernow, and I am hoping it has black bogies. That said, painting the bogies black is not that arduous! On the green model, the loco. will need renumbering if it is to represent the green/early version as the font shown on the model represents the later type used on 'Hawk'. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  21. Sorry MRF, but last time looked from over here in the far West, Brisbane (Lions) and the Gold Coast (Suns) were in Queensland, (Kingsland now?). Cheers from the Golden West, Peter C.
  22. Hi John, Another wagon from Amanda Moger, the rebuilt wooden 'Grano'. Possibly of interest? Cheers from WA, Peter C.
  23. I first saw an EBay listing for these and ordered a set of four iron ore loads. Having received them and being impressed by the quality I contacted the seller and asked if he had considered doing loads for the Hornby Coke hopper. I have a long rake of these and I have struggled to make a convincing load with the metallic sheen of coke. After some exchange of information Barry agreed to give it a try and reported success. I ordered 20-off these loads and was most impressed with his results. As you ca see, the look of coke is captured very well, and the loads are different shapes to add realism to a rake. Being very happy with the large coke hopper rake, I again approached Barry with a view to making loads for the Bachmann planked wagon with coal rails. Again he came up with the goods, including two spacers to vary the height of the load in the wagon. Here is a link to Barry's EBay listings:https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/bazil31/m.html?item=203227378525&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2562 However, I found it better to deal with him direct when looking for a larger number of items: barry-larkin@blueyonder.co.uk Well recommended and worth a look. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
  24. You are/were correct! However, the chimney is not plastic as per the A2/2-3, but a metal casting that has a spigot that passes through the body and is tapped at the end for the body retaining screw. I removed the body from the chassis and managed to separate the chimney casting (and whistle). It appears that a little too much glue had been used which prevented the casting seating properly. A few strokes with a file it now sits flush. Cheers from Oz, Peter C.
