  1. Here's a quick video of the wobbling issue: Just running in now. Will report back if it settles.
  2. Sorry for taking a while. I appreciate you changed the decoder but posting this for historical search purposes. This is my setup: Start Volts (0-255) = 1 Max Volts (0-255) = 160 Vmid (0-255) = 100 Acceleration Momentum (0-255) = 8 Deceleration (Brake) Momentum (0-255) = 6 I use a Lenz Standard +v2 in mine - no jump when starting. Controller: PA2.
  3. Here's some more photos. Railway room (Bright white LED panel): Outside in the sun: Outside in the shade: Haven't been over it with a toothpick but I haven't noticed any glue spots or anything. Only a slight gash in the yellow paint on the drivers cab steps (the right hand side in the photos). Everything else seems in order. Also, master volume of 66 seems good for me too.
  4. Just given mine a whirl. One axle cover in the box. Another fell off after the first few movements. All others fine so far. Do I just blob a bit of superglue inside the axle box and slot it back on? Worried I'll try a repair and make it worse. Cute cab light though. As others have said, sound is very loud, so will be reducing the volume (but everyone should as the volume should match the environment). It did have a problem with the front bogie getting stuck but after one round around the layout, was fine. Mine wobbles as well. Can't remember the cure for this.
  5. Amazing! Just been charged too so I assume my sound fitted order has been dispatched/will be dispatched tomorrow.
  6. I don't think mine does this. I'll check this afternoon and post what CV values I have.
  7. I think we're against the grain here... I filled our freezer a couple of weeks before all this kicked off and it doesn't look like we've had any of it! Would like to think that by the time the stores are replenished enough, that's when we'll need to go out shopping again. Whereas my fellow humans all barraged the local supermarket at 6am this morning. The car park was as full as it normally is at 2pm... :eek
  8. What a mixed bag to this morning... - Boss of new job called yesterday to say they're just waiting for the Finance Director to sign off on the recruitment. Then it's just a battle to get me transferred over. I'll be surprised if it's that hard. But at least they haven't forgotten about me! - The tablet I brought to work doesn't allow me to watch the iPlayer. Last updated in 2017 - 1.5GB of updates but I should think it'll take all morning to download and update. - Had a great shave last night with my new brush, blade and cream. - The supermarket car park was almost full... at 6am. I should think there won't be much left when I get there (although I only need bread). - Roast chicken this evening! More smiles than sads so all good so far!
  9. Just watching Prime Minister's Questions. Jeremy Corbyn said "... the MPs sitting a suitable distance apart to help stop the cross fertilisation of the virus..." WHO THE HELL SAYS "cross fertilisation" ?! He should have just said "catch the lurgy from each other"
  10. I don't understand what's happened to Best Offer these days. I always thought Best Offer was for a buyer to offer something close to, but not quite at the starting price. Like a car or a house - people tend to haggle for money off the starting price. But it seems these days, sellers expect offers higher than the starting price.
  11. Many supermarkets are giving time for the elderly and vulnerable to do their shops. What counts as vulnerable? Am I vulnerable because I still have to go out to work and interact with customers? The other problem is that by restricting my shopping, I may be pushed into vulnerable if I can't get things I need for my 4 week old son. Things aren't that bad - I inadvertently bulk bought ages ago but it's interesting to see how fragile things can really be. On bulk buying - Bought 40 years worth of razor blades (I double-edge shave) a few years back (sounds loads, they all fit in a small shoe box). Bought a big 24-roll pack of toilet roll a few weeks before all this kicked off. I thought I had just 2 rolls left so went out and got the normal largest pack Asda do. Turns out we had about 12 rolls left, so we're only just starting the big pack. Bought 60 bottles of hand santiiser years back. Worked out we used about 2 per year. Only just started the 2nd box now, so that's 30 bottles in this household. Not panic buying, just bulk buying!
  12. Morning all. Starting to wind down at work now. Waiting rooms and toilets closed. I think I've processed more refunds than sold tickets - and that's just 3. However, worked out I can use the station wifi to stream BBC News as I didn't manage to find anything else to watch yesterday after having a photo shoot with the baby in Beeston. Was a bit weird but after relaxing, was quite good fun.
  13. At least with the current worldly problems, there's less doorknobs on the roads!
  14. So found out my phone didn't notify me (or I swiped it away!) that the Manager for the new job I was told I'd got will look at getting me transferred over "very soon". Then something on the railway happened, which would have sucked all their time for a few days. Now this whole virus thing is going on... but at least I've not been forgotten about... yet. Seen a 70% reduction in the amount of people I normally see. Gonna have to load the phone with movies for the rest of this week, or perhaps a TV series that isn't too long but would take a week of 4 hours a day to get through. No wonder I applied for a new job!
  15. If a loco had traction tyres and you take them off, most have a little flange (?) where the traction tyre fitted. Is it okay to simply take the tyre off and run the loco? The track fits into the little groove so seems to be okay but not sure if it'll damage the loco or track in the long run?
  16. Anyone done anything to increase the grip or drive of theirs? I took off the traction tyres to help with power connectivity but it's a little... not that great.
  17. Another day, another BORING day at work. Decided to watch Ready Player One again - in my top 5 of favourite movies. I've often thought the bigger companies in our world like Apple, Amazon, Google, Facebook - any one of them could easily (surely?) make a virtual world like in that film. Scary stuff but I can see the human race heading towards something similar. The Good Lady is out with the Baby this afternoon so I get to prune my rose bush and plant some lovely but delicate pinky-purple flowered plants that have been surviving nicely over the winter. Might plant another one too called "Cobaea scanden" - a plant that produces purple flowers like cups and saucers.
  18. I mean... where did all that wind from last night come from?! Have given up on cleaning up for this week and will continue to deflect jobs until next week - the ultimate in procrastination! However, we're now on to Season 3 of Downton Abbey. I didn't think I'd like it as much as I do. I'm also a bit concerned (?) by admitting that!
  19. I can see them running through a bunch of current liveries before doing others. But then I can see the Central Trains green and perhaps Transpennine Express ones being popular.
  20. Morning all! Quite sunny today here in the Midlands. Been watching a storm on Twitter about a couple of people scamming others and ruining some pretty old railway stuff. But at least I'm off work next week so get another resting time. Must crack on with the railway - Hatton's 66 will be here before I'm ready for it!
  21. What a week it's been! Broken sleep (feeding the little one every 3 hours) but managed to sell some stuff meaning I could buy a couple more foam inserts and really useful boxes ready for purchases in the future. Quietly hoping a prospective new employer hasn't forgotten about me too :/ Assessment Centre didn't go that well (to be fair, one guy completely took over and put me right off the task!) but I said something at the end that intrigued the assessors. One interview later and they said I was the best they'd seen out of everyone. The logistics of the job and how I'd transfer over are being worked on, although it's been nearly 2 weeks now. Will give them a chance - the rail industry rarely moves fast in recruitment! Cheerio.
  22. Wow though, £80 on an applicator. Hmm - quite an investment.
  23. Mine arrived the other day too. First impressions weren't that great (mine seemed to have some sort of deposit over it). However, very minor really (more on this later). Now on to testing! Realised that my HST has NEM pockets so the set I chose (non-NEM) wouldn't fit. A closer look and they've included a pair of NEM couplers - such a good touch with this. Very impressed they have thought about that sort of thing. Fitted the HST NEM version and it came straight out the pocket again. Fitted the coaches (non-NEM pocket) and they worked as expected. Back to the HST and a quick email to support who said I should leave them out to cure, where they should harden a bit better (meaning the deposit would disappear too). While slight hassle, the advantage of having stock that I can just lift away without faffing with hooks far outweighs the nevagtives. The website will be one under my "Model Railway" favourites that I'm bound to buy from again. Good on them!
  24. And the problem has now been a delay as they're OOS. I still haven't received mine, which is slightly annoying. If they are OOS, I haven't been emailed. I would assume if something isn't available, I wouldn't have been able to order it. As I completed the order, it's reasonable to assume they had some ready to dispatch. Not the best first impressions
  25. Happy to announce our first child was born on the 20th of February. 6 weeks early He's been in a special care unit but is pretty big already so that's all good. Been getting a tan for the past 24 hours - jaundice - but they're really happy with him. Go us!
