  1. The Accurascale ones are more authentic with appropriately coloured uniforms and style of cap/jacket etc. They are not painted; it's self-coloured resin and although more muted than the Preiser figures look less cheap and nasty.
  2. This will be addressed tomorrow, it's a by-product of instituting the black header. In the meantime you should be able to select the Premium theme from the Themes link at the bottom of the page.
  3. They won't; they're a spare for the chaldron waggons. I'll look at replacing Hornby's rubbish on the Rocket set.

    Price cap

p/kWh on electricity will vary by region but should be around 6.5% higher than the current rates. In the West Mids this equates to just over 30p/kWh for elec and gas should be a national rate around 15.75p/kWh.* In simple terms that's around 5 times more than we were paying for those commodities 20 years ago. * Dependent on payment methods.
  5. Shall we start the fingerprints on backscenes debate? That's not the public for starters.
  6. He's overwhelmed at the variety of stock on the layout and came over a bit funny. ;)
  7. Different people altogether - having met both.
  8. Is there a word for the smell of burning flesh from a soldering iron?
  9. Although there was WiFi (which worked) I connected to 4G without problem several times (although I did find one dead spot), it will depend on the network of course (I'm on giffgaff which uses O2). As for that report the bloke obviously left his common sense at home as it sounded he'd got no means to pay for anything except via his phone (ignored comments about cashpoints in the area). How he was going to spend a £1,000 on his phone was beyond me. He just wanted to be a crybaby on Facebook (which hugely backfired) and to keep trotting out an offensive phrase about the desk staff. The customer is not always right (sorry Mr. Selfridge).
  10. It's superb; did you get to feel the weight of it?

This is hugely impressive and superb value, seen at Guildex.
  12. No, certainly not for users. I'm not managing and maintaining that.
  13. Sadly not with the way Invision's platform is structured;: it's all via the software, I can't even FTP files onto the storage.
  14. It's not ideal (because the chronology would be warped) but the original post could be quoted and the images uploaded into an edit of the quote.
  15. I wouldn't say I'm typical, I may even be illogical in that if a manufacturer produces an item I'd willingly have (as none of us really have a 'need') I will only buy the item if if I like the business and the people running it. So there are some companies where I just disregard their output and I'm on a long term Weatherspoons and Ryanair boycott. ;)
  16. The topic number in the URL will still be the same. The old URL includes the /community directory in the path which needs to be added to any existing url - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php/topic/15931-bury-thorn-sons/page__st__25 There was an automatic archiving in the transfer, they would need to be individually restored. I can't recall if the report link works on them but if it does that would be the easiest way to flag them up. If not just drop me a message.
  17. That was what I resigned myself to in a wider form but I carried on prodding and poking people to make sure I wasn't letting a hard work solution go without investigation. However, I realistically knew some time back that a hoped-for outcome wouldn't be even remotely likely so my approach, which may seem poor on one level, was to let the dust settle and let everyone adjust to the position without causing more upset over the problem than necessary. It wasn't to sweep it under the carpet but to stabilise the situation to make sure we'd all, or as many as possible, would carry on communicating together.
  18. It is evident from matters over the preceding weeks that no further progress with the restoration of images is likely to be made. The previous hosts maintained that their earlier backup was viable but the majority of folders containing the images from each month over the years were empty or corrupted. Beyond initial good progress it's been a very small minority that were recoverable and restored. I fully understand the frustrations on an individual basis, especially for those who had uploaded content and I can assure you no-one has been more annoyed about it than me. I can only apologise (although not having caused it) but I am grateful to and impressed by those who have made inroads into restoring content from their locally saved files. It's not a good outcome but thanks to measures taken before the crash at the end of March is a whole lot better than it could have been.
  19. For editorial balance you do get on numerous members ***s too.
