  1. I've had to go through numerous posts and remove images which are a breach of copyright. Please use links to images and do not copy and upload to our server.
  2. I would suggest that's exactly that's what the shorthold tenants of the Palace of Westminster want many people to think - to give the illusion of prudence in saving money they haven't got/borrowed yet, or have promised to others.
  3. I am pleased you got a positive outcome as you did look, although circumspect, a bit down about it all Jamie when we spoke a few weeks back. It's heartening that the collective knowledge accumu!ated here helped members far more than DJ did after using the site as his prime publicity channel and performing the first half of a magician's trick of making your money disappear and then pulling it out from behind your ear.
  4. Patricia? How long did you soak it for? Maybe could have done with longer but you probably won't notice when repainted an weathered.
  5. Never seen that happen before but I wonder if Dave's post was still going through the system when you opened the quote.
  6. And as you're down-under it's worth looking at some real craftsman scenery and videos from Luke Towans. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCjRkUtHQ774mTg1vrQ6uA5A His flowers are really top notch.
  7. If you want to improve your techniques and quality the pages of RMweb are worth reading before piling in. Or read some back issues of our magazine.
  8. David's right - I pointed you in the wrong direction. Head here - https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/settings/signature/
  9. Thanks for that Neil, that's causing some head-scratching at this end. This software is a pain at times in that there can be three completely unconnected places where such settings can be applied; all of them show that signatures are editable but evidently they are not. It will allow me to do it but obviously not you. Pending getting it sorted out just let me know what you want it changing to and I can arrange it for you.
  10. I think it best if the topics are kept to the individual model shop listings otherwise there will be duplication and drift.
  11. If you head to your profile Neil - https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/profile/6793-neil/ and then click on the 'Edit Profile' box in your header image it should open up a pop-up box which allows you to change any details.
  12. Despite evolutionary development of opposable thumbs in homo sapiens the male of the species always finds the mouth a useful means of holding additional tools and fixings. For some reason the female of the species does not exhibit similar behaviour.

  14. He couldn't look more like Jimmy Saville if he tried.
  15. They didn't really sound like very good buses but I'm sure he thinks they're marvellous.
  16. I was talking to Tony a little earlier and we talked about pan shots. I mentioned that I'd had a quick play whilst photographing an O gauge layout yesterday and he suggested adding it to the topic. I don't regard such shots as having much illustrative value when photographing layouts but it just seemed opportune to do one. High speed blur would have looked odd with an 8F trundling along with loose minerals so the scale speed was dropped to about 25 mph. 1/30 @ f2.8 320 ISO for the base shot with added photofrippery afterwards. The layout is Leamington & Warwick MRS's 'Kimble' which will feature in BRM December just before it's first outing at Warley show in November.
  17. I believe there was a degree of entrapment in this case whereby two parts of a structure which had limited contact surfaces had been placed in a prominent position and unaffixed to said layout. I am kicking myself in hindsight that I did not spot this obvious booby trap and the whole substructure fell apart akin to the bits flying off a clown's car. I also find it remarkably opportune that Oberwachtmeister Bonwick of Der Nudgenpolizei chose that very moment to walk through the door catching me red-faced and obviously guilty. He's ever watchful and later determined (Minority Report style) that I was guilty of an offence by having an elbow within the arc of potential damage to a signal post - an advisory notice was handed out.
  18. Yes, a stupid statement and it's not the first time I've seen that attitude from the poster. Rein it in please.
  19. I've isolated the code for it now which should resolve the issue until I can get some answers.
  20. There shouldn't be any ad code within that element. A conversation for me to have tomorrow.
  21. Can someone provide a screenshot please? Not been able to reproduce it at this end.
  22. Our physics lab overlooked the WCML with numbers visible if you paid close attention. No wonder I failed A level with APT-Ps to contend with. Even late revision lessons for the retake were blighted by the space shuttle on a 747 due past.
