  1. Can someone provide a screenshot please? Not been able to reproduce it at this end.
  2. Our physics lab overlooked the WCML with numbers visible if you paid close attention. No wonder I failed A level with APT-Ps to contend with. Even late revision lessons for the retake were blighted by the space shuttle on a 747 due past.
  3. AY Mod

    Hilarious

Plenty of existing topics for it.
  4. Now I know you are just trolling. You didn't respond to my earlier challenges, just marked it funny, so I'll just remove access to the topic and leave it for more intelligent discussion.
  5. I don't think you've really looked at curvature and gradients e.g. Luton J9-10. Keele Bank? Wholly fantasy.
  6. I thought I'd have a look at freight. https://www.railforums.co.uk/threads/busiest-stations-for-freight-statistics.97568/ OK it isn't definitive and it's 5 years ago but I don't suppose the balance has changed much. Aside from Barnetby (would that still be top with less imported coal?) the WCML and combined routes seems to figure highly.
  7. Yes, I did ask you for some facts to back up your stated beliefs a couple of days ago. You didn't come back to me with any so I'm left assuming it was a blind belief. Beliefs which cannot be backed with facts or a disregard for factual evidence to the contrary is why we all have to experience a political mess right now . Of which HS2 is just a small and low cost fallout compared to what the future potentially holds.
  8. That's correct, the 'Ian Allan' stand at Warley each year was actually Midland Counties.
  9. It's Triang Model Land - http://www.tri-ang.co.uk/indModelLand.html
  10. And how does that freedom get paid for?

  12. I've made my views known internally on the ads within posts. It needs resolving.
  13. No, the software hasn't been hacked. That's a daft thing to say. Google Ads are served based on browsing history, if enabled, or wider blanket ads if you haven't. I haven't seen anything which causes any concerns in that respect. 1. Yes, that's what the topic is about. 2. It depends on your settings too.
  14. I doubt it is anything to do with the Stamford issue (even if the observation has any substance), it is more the reality of the costs of a venue for a long weekend plus additional nights' accommodation for a 33% increase in attendance. There is also the factor of new shows starting off who initially keep to a one-day format.
  15. They've got the shade of brown wrong; AGAIN!
  16. Not the last time I looked but their tariff agreement is with the EU and we won't have an alternative in place.
  17. I blame those espousing returning model production back to the UK.
  18. Ask yourself how railways came into being, it certainly wasn't government benevolence. Did the railways become 'better' under nationalisation? Not for an appreciable period of time and significant leaps only came in the overhead electrification and 125 eras. The 125 era barely benefited the WCML and again it was private investment which improved capacity and times. Unfortunately for HS2 the mass media leant upon journey times and property values rather than the number of people who could be moved. People 'got' motorways as it allowed more people to move fast more quickly or for greater distances in the same period (as long as it din't go through their back garden) - that was state backed so why shouldn't the state assist the development of a 21st century people movement solution. The state isn't dynamic enough for rapidly changing times, rather than allow people to use (with sensible restriction) and provide safer facilities for electric scooter users they're being beaten out of use, an ideal city personal transport solution. The post manages to combine anti-capitalism with xenophobia and a demand that your thoughts should be heard.
  19. If you head to the advert topic in the Gold lounge I have posted a workaround for Goldies.
  20. It's a shame the project originator couldn't be bothered to come back and communicate in the way that you have taken the time to do.
  21. Scandalous; other people paying for you to have free access to a website.
  22. A place to drop oddities in seen around the country. Yesterday I drove past an old canalside cinema in Measham. Leics - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@52.705212,-1.5081827,3a,60y,343.37h,84.38t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sHT1fcJU9ZEuONkddI7CgSw!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 Apparently it seated 350 people, a bit of a crush I'd say! 23. I have just spoken to Magnet Insurance's managing director, Tony Bound, to discuss the above; not that it's necessarily anything to do with Magnet but his responses are reassuring. Providing the organiser states that the set-up date is the starting point of the cover and that the breakdown date is the end point of the cover (that could be a Thursday to Monday in the case of bigger shows) then there should be no issue. Premiums have, at this time, remained unaffected by the events at Stamford so there should be no reason that anyone using Magnet Insurance should be unduly concerned or be disadvantaged by those events. The only stipulation is that the premises should be secured overnight and there is no stipulation within the policy that there should be alarmed or have on-site security. It's also re-assuring to know that the claim was promptly investigated and paid out for in the Stamford case. Maybe it's worth asking the event organiser which insurer they are using and what the start/end dates and times of the policy are?
  24. I always relish the chance to have a completely pointless conversation with an incredibly intelligent person. I think I may be in the right place for such.
