  2. A typical lack of logic! Why have the cables spread all the way up the end of the car like that? Why not have them all at the same height as we have in the UK for the last 50 or 60 years or so? I thought the Japanese were supposed to be clever.
  3. I take it that the Loksound decoders in these models will also feature the "drive lock"/drive hold function as on the V4 versions? That really is something else to behold.
  4. Even though the money has gone from my account? Just a thought, I appreciate the feedback. I checked on the Dapol site just now, logged into the account and it says 'shipped'. I've sent a couple of emails too but had no reply. Confused.com.
  5. I ordered a Dapol club B4 on the 18th of December. Money passed from my account but still no sign of loco but I got the forms a couple of days after. Silly question, but do you need to fill in the club membership forms and post them back first??
  6. One of the issues is signalling interference. It's not exactly a secret either that I know of.

    EBay madness

    Oh dear. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-DELTIC-PROTOTYPE-IN-BR-MAROON-OLIVIAS-COMMISSIONED-REPAINT-c-w-SOUND/233074413773?hash=item36445150cd:g:LYQAAOSwEONcCV06:rk:31:pf:0
  8. A quick question. Will 55003 be produced with FP white cabs or the era just before that embellishment? Thanks.
  9. All trains that use that particular crossing are required to stop and sound the horn before working over the crossing. Its the same method of working at Sandways a little further up the hill from there! Reading between the lines and seeing it was a poor old DPD driver with a 15 hour day and 100+ drops, I think we can draw our own conclusions.
  10. That's probably not far off the mark. The cynic in me is saying that they had them on local control before the train turned up. UK practice would be to agree with the signaller if and when you can take local control. All speculation ofcourse but worth mentioning.
  11. I'm in a sort of limbo situation with mine. It's to good to scrap, so many hours of graft put in. I won't sell all my loco's, that I do know but I've got my eye on other things at the moment. I'm being distracted by 0 gauge class 50's and what promises to be the definitive 00 scale Deltic recently announced by Accurascale. Ive even just bought this- https://www.Dapol.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=3066 for no other reason than it looks lovely! I can't bring myself to build another 00 gauge layout as the couplings and track gauge issue will grate very quickly and there's no way at my age and eyesight I'll be building my own track anymore, there are far more interesting things to do with my time! This beast has occupied most of it for the last 6 months- https://www.facebook.com/ProjectAjax/ Railway models wise, I feel like a rabbit caught in headlights right now.
  12. Here's a shameless plug for my Scale Trains Gevo for sale folks. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Scale-Trains-H0-scale-GE-C45AH-Gevo-Locomotive-with-sound/264094707818
  13. Rub an HB pencil across the buffer faces, fantastic way of replicating grease, it'll top it off a treat!
  14. It will also feature ESU's 'full throttle' feature no doubt which is well worth having on any loco! Really looking forward to this one.
  15. And are the dog's gonads with regard to Deltic sounds! ESU have a very hard act to follow........
  16. That certainly looks a bit different to the old one!
  17. All this wibble over another 00 Deltic, I was always told there was nothing wrong with the Bachmann version?? Flippant mode off, this is fantastic news and has been a long time coming. At last a Deltic that looks like a Deltic should- I shall be buying at least 2 of these for sure! Thanks, Accurascale.
  18. LOL!!! Don't venture down that road Ray!! I've been beating that drum for the last 2 years!
  19. Good news! It shows they listened to concerns after all then. If you are to do something, you may as well do it right!
  20. What annoys me about the whole shooting match is the fact that we know they (HJ) can do it, look at the Peak, for example, it's superb! What I will say about the 50 is that it is the closest I've seen in model form from any manufacturer to date.
  21. Dr Gerbil fritters post above brought it all back, i had completely forgotten what they sounded like before refurbishment, I now do though and it was one heck of a racket they made on pulling into a station! The noise came from that louvred vent at cantrail height next to that roof recess at number 2 end. It was the inertial air filter fans that drew air into the engine room which normally contained lots of oily exhaust carbon that had disastrous consequences on the electrical machines and the filters themselves quickly became blocked leading to black exhaust smoke amongst other things.
