  1. 37046 does look a little dark, compared to the 1st photo. I suppose the next question is to how much sun fade etc., the loco has had! To throw a curve ball at it - what is 37254 in its weathered guise like? Also - the duo of Bachmann Class 47's 47346? and 4797x? I seem to recall Heljan Class 33's having a very dark roof. Regards, C.
  2. Whilst I would agree, that a product is always a faster seller, when its current. Certain items like a 43002/185 is more iconic, and would appeal to people who want set to run, or for in a cabinet. When you think of the amount of people who have a set of Hornby GWR Mk3's, then by your hypothesis, in 6 months time everyone will be selling them off on e-bay, to make way for the sliding door variant. A few may, but the reality is there are lots of sets of GWR Mk3's out there, and with 43002/185 (as they didn't always work together), then people could chop and change units within their GWR coaching stock. Likewise, they could use 43002/185 with their GWR slam door Mk3's, and use a GWR pair with the sliding door variant. The only thing left for the GWR Green, is a set with Castle nameplates, to accompany the sliding door Mk3's, but you can still get the first 2 GWR Green HST power car sets from some places! Slightly off topic but from the 2019 range - the one that really gets me, is the proposed numbers for the XC set - as one of the power cars were done with the original XC set! Regards, C.
  3. Perhaps. Although looking at it logically - Hornby know this pack would sell, so perhaps they have wanted to get the GWR Green done and dusted first. It also goes well, with 2020 being an anniversary year, as long as they don't go OTT, and get there original tooling out! The other option of course could be a Hornby standard run with the NRM having a L/E with gloss finish. Regards, C.
  4. Very clever! Must take a long time to fill a wagon though, nevermind a long rake! Regards, C.
  5. So your not disappointed! The EMT Franchise has ended before the EMT 158 made it! Regards, C.
  6. Looking good. I take it the T cut works wonders on them. I wonder if there will be a TTS decoder in 2020 for the Class 87? Regards, C.
  7. I seem to recall a review on the Dapol A4's saying they were nice, and had good features, but it didn't have the finesse of Hornby's. At the end of the day, for £400, it needed to be "bang on" perfection. Regards, C.
  8. Hi Charlie, I don't wish to sound offensive or anything, but I thought they were all limited edition runs of 125? I'm just a little confused with your first comment on this thread saying the units are selling out, and when they are gone, they are gone, to the last comment, saying more of the EMT Livery have arrived..... Best Wishes, C.
  9. Apparently they was a fault found on some, and they and have gone back to Bachmann, for rectification! Regards, C.
  10. Hi, thats why many refunds on here have been via "chargeback", and not Section 75. Best Regards, C.
  11. Hi - thanks. I will PM you when I hear anything from Lloyds! Or if successful, let everyone know! Regards, C.
  12. Thanks for that - so have people been refunded for Class 92's and who have been the card providers? According to a Bank Card trade body, that another RMwebber advised me of - then upto 6 years is possible for a claimback. It would be good to get a list, of whom has been refunded and by which banks. If some banks are, then surely a precedence has been set. Regards, C.
  13. Hi - thanks. If you don't mind me asking - What was the order for? And how long ago was the order tho? They said they could not do a Section 75 due to the length of time. Regards, C.
  14. Hopefully not, as I am still awaiting a further decision (after a rejection first off, because they were working off the consumer credit act), hence I wrote a letter to the LLoyds dispute team containing the key bits of information, notification from administrator etc., and asked them nicely to review the situation, including protection provided by the chargeback scheme, but as per BR(S) above, his is being disputed via Lloyds banking group...... Were just adding the thought, as like anything, its easier to give money back, when its not coming from your companies bottom line! The DJ Models saga continues..... Regards, C.
  15. Hi ,still awaiting a response from Lloyds regarding my claim. One thing that has crossed my mind - DJ was to use Lloyd Click Safe, so its likely that he banked with Lloyds. Does that have any impact on the decision, and LLoyds seeming reluctance to refund people, as effectively they are taking the hit? Regards, C.
  16. Yes, Revolution are doing 4 wagons in VTG Blue, 100 of each. I don't know the status regarding their availability, but, hopefully in a couple of years, they will do another run of all the liveries for anyone who misses out. Regards, C.
  17. Good luck with the challenge. Sure you will manage it! You always knew your Hornby Devon Belle Obervation Car would come in handy! I actually proposed to my wife, overlooking Goodrington, so its an area I have a fondness for. Regards, C.
  18. Really good work James. I think you will probably beat me on the 90. Mainly working on the actual layout at the moment, when time permits. But need to get a model now, as when I want one there will be none left! Best Regards, C.
  19. A very nice job it is to. Best Regards, Christopher.
  20. Hi James, that sounds good, and will look forward to seeing it, especially at your high standards. Have you managed to get the name off though easily, and without damage. As Financial Times is higher than most others, including 90013. Best Regards, Christopher.
  21. Hi - thanks Paul, you have some fantastic photos of stock recorded at Friary. Likewise the information regarding "Backtrack". I would have PM'ed you, but you don't have that facility. Excuse the questions - but..... Would you happen to know if the Cement/Petrol wagons were being unloaded in the yard, or were they en-route to Plymstock/Cattewater respectively? I take it the majority of freight trains went to Friary, in their own right, and were not tripped from Tavistock Yard? (I recall seeing a photo of a Class 50 with a train from Friary, heading up country) Recall any types of loco, apart from Class 08? I have seen a photo of a Weedkilling train with 37196 going down the branches, hence wondering if in the earlier days the use of mainline locomotives was a common, or an irregular occurrence? I know circa 2003 only Class 66 were permitted to EMR, and Class 08 along to Cattewater. 09's were not even allowed according to the S Appendix. (perhaps they were worried about them speeding!) Many Thanks, C.
  22. Hi, thanks - but after the HST Shed, what happened to locomotives then? Thinking Cross Country and Postal 47's, 50's for Exeter-Waterloo's etc. Thanks, C.
  23. Thanks for that! In a Sectional Apendix circa 2003, locos were "supposed" to be disposed of via Friary, in text book. But it would make sense to leave the loco tied on the back (if the mainline driver had got off, otherwise having to wait whilst the train got cleaned!). Also - I would imagine loco shut down, so as not to disturb the houses in the area during the night? I suppose it would also depend on the condition of the loco - as to whether it had any faults and needed to go in the Loco depot. Another Question - HST's get fuelled on the front sidings, but where are locomotives fuelled? On the odd occasion I went to Laira (whilst on holiday) in the late 80's, TPO's were kept in the HST sidings and the Hauled stock in Lipson, plus I can always remember 50032 picking up a set of NSE Mk2's from one of the two sidings next to the main line! So did stock to Lipson go via the speedway, or through the HST Sidings (or possibly depend on the Operations Staff? Regards, C.
  24. I take it no-one has had a go then yet? I quite fancied a 90013 The Law Society....... Regards, C.
  25. Hi, I know, it were a real shame especially after they had renewed some track! At least its a part of the way down. A couple of queries regarding the wash line - When a loco hauled train went into the carriage wash, I take it the loco then went into Friary? But did it then run round the train, or did a shunter then take the stock into Laira. Also - which way do they wash - towards Friary, or Laira? There is also 2 pieces of washing equipment - at both ends of the wash line. So are both used, and to use the aparatus towards the Friary end, I take it the train then has to proceed towards Friary? Or did a train go to Friary and then run through towards the depot? Regards, C.
