  1. Or alternatively, maybe Accurascale are using the method many companies today use, and dispatching in invoice number order! If its still a worry, you could rename yourself " Mr. AAATaxis", I believe it used to work in yellow pages. LOL Regards, C.
  2. So Oak Road will be electrified with "turd rail?" (LOL) Maybe a little gloss varnish on a couple of sleepers to represent a fresh flush? Excellent modelling. Regards, C.
  3. Governments know very little about running railways either, but they seem able to mess that up too!
  4. Perhaps even an Accurascale one.......with possibly NR's variation too? Regards, C.
  5. To celebrate, why don't you send out some complimentary Guinness to drink, whilst we savor your wagons. Regards, C. P.S. You should send me at least double for medicinal purposes, as my Iron is very low and awaiting treatment via GP! Doctor Fran.....
  6. Personally, if I were going for a bundle, then make 2 rakes of 8 from 16 coaches. Simples.
  7. Any news on the "bundles" yet? One with both sets of TPE's would probably be popular, and with the Cal Sets, will they be with or without Cl 92? Regards, C.
  8. Sounds like Accurascale Threesomes by popular demand then? On a serious note, not really keen on the inner packaging of the HUO 3 packs, always fearful when opening the top that it may damage a wagon or three! Regards, C.
  9. First Class, complete with with reclining seat and complimentary food and drink? I take it Accurascale is not a carbon neutral company then? Regards, C.
  10. Well out of 58 pages, could imagine perhaps 45 are "grey area". Instead of going round and round, with "speculations", "maybe", "perhaps" etc., it makes it simple - two choices. Nothings perfect, but ultimately hopefully Dave has learnt, and as time passes, hopefully things will progress.
  11. TBH this is getting quite laborious now. Just like 2 sides of a coin, some will take a positive approach and some a negative (half full, half empty glass brigade) There are two schools of thought..... 1 - the negative, who have not invested and would probably like it to fail to say "I told you so!", 2- those who have backed the project and who want to see it come to fruition. Last time I signed on, this were RMweb, not a 65p womans magazine with pictures via telephoto lense of people on holiday. Perhaps we should all concentrate on our modelling a little more.....and let Dave get on with his models, wherever that leads. Hopefully with another 92 on the horizon, it will focus him and the factory on progress. Regards, C. .
  12. ......As long as it don't turn into Kadees Monthly, like MRM did! Hopefully balance may be restored with the odd layout article etc. Not "Your 24 pages of modelling start here (50% + advertss, and 4+ of photos of real life topics (which could go into topics in the main mag etc).
  13. Firstly, I have no malace towards either DJM or Accurascale. I would say, that based on past products both are capable of producing a excellent model of the Class 92. And I wish both the best of luck in producing an excellent model. Its just unfortunate they will be some duplication, when I'm sure we would all have liked a Class 89, instead of 2 Class 92's! Well, to the credit of DJM he has recently gave quite alot of updates, and should be pretty much ready to start tooling. Dave has moved production from 1 factory to another, which has caused considerable delay, and whilst this was going on, I can quite understand why he would not be discussing the Class 92 model, until production could progress. He also has an agreement for the Stobart Model..... I think if people have already signed up for a crowdfunded model, then they should see that through (If they want extras, well, they have the luxury of two choices). Those who have entered into the crowdfunding have done so, with others collectively to produce a specific item, and its required trust. Regarding some peoples comments that this could bring crowdfunding down, well actually, if it does, it will be because modellers can no longer trust other modellers to see a project through, which ultimately will divide us all. Certainly I consider what one person has said said to be very unhelpful, and against the spirit of crowdfunding - They have put £30 down on both suppliers (for the same product), and they say only one will get a second payment - this to me is simply staggering and reckless, never mind disrespectful to all the other modellers who are involved in this crowdfund project - talk about jumping ship! Is this really the way that railway modelling is progressing in the 21st Century? Regards, C.
  14. It would be nice if it were! A friend of a friend I knew, helped someone informal model club (three of them) build Exeter St.Davids in OO gauge, and he had all the buildings built too. I found out a couple of years ago that he dismantled the layout and skipped the lot! I were gutted as I would have gave the buildings a good home, as eventually I'd love to model it too! Regards, C.
  15. Hi Fran, sorry to be a pain - on the variations of Castle Cement - will they be the same modern era livery, as the Castles in the first run, or is it an earlier livery? Many Thanks, C.
  16. Many Thanks for this - the information is really appreciated. Best Regards, C.
  17. Hi All, Just wondering if anyone knows in what issues of Railway Modeller, a N gauge layout of Exeter St. Davids and surrounding area appeared. I think it was titled "Exeter - gateway to the west"? I think it were a three part article too. Many thanks in anticipation to anyone who can assist. Best Regards, C.
  18. Hi, personally I've nearly always had a e-mail reply from Dave. Perhaps a phone call to his mobile (10am-5pm), would assist with your queries. At least you can be sure he got it. Regards, C.
  19. Would ditto the comments on the really good job, but would echo the comments on the look of the side etch, unless it is just the photos (on your website). Some of the samples also seem to have a bit of trouble with the top etches being secured properly. My only other queries would be on the First Barbie Livery - is the blue/purple correct (again it may be the photos), and some of the pink/white lines, where they join are printed slightly off. But on the whole - looking really good. Best Regards, C.
  20. Quite agree with your sentiments. Anyone who "believes" that margins are tight on manufacture believe the PR hype! Like I was told a few years ago, we have to buy from our parent company...... If there were no money in model railways, all the new companies would not have sprouted up. They've come about because prices are now high enough that they can make a go of it! Yes model railways are labour intensive, but how many parts are there on something like a VDA van that retails at £30.95? (38-144A) Regards, C. P.S. Remember in the good old days when Lima 60's and Class 66's fetched over £100 each, because there were no others available when Lima finished.
  21. Just expressing an observation on how they have managed to lower their price on a model that a competitor is doing a new version of, whilst other locos in their portfolio have been raised by £10. Perhaps competition has the potential to reduce prices.... Regarding your friend, well you could always advise your friend to order a couple of good sized rakes of the new Weathered TEA's at £59.95 each and Clean CEA's at £29.95 each, for starters, "Just in case!" That should provide some comfort. Regards, C.
  22. To be honest, if its done without the additional logos - I'm sure there will be a transfer provider to do the additional logos. Plus with Hornby's Gloss Finish, the carrier film should be pretty un-noticeable. Just a shame they didn't do a pairing with 43185, unless someone out there has ideas on a 43002/43185 Twin pack! Regards, C.
  23. Hopefully there will be another 10 or 15% day soon for everything/model railways! I know what I will be buying..."Gulp" Regards, C.
