  1. Maybe I should pop this here for inspiration.... (Froth Alert!) And this......
  2. For me personally, I think that the locomotive is insanely accurate already. And a joy to behold even without a cold start. Preparation is everything m..... Breathing aperatus and extra set of clothes for the person who will be undertaking the recording....just a little lateral thinking..... The loved old girls still don't seem to understand air pollution.....Bit like anything EE really!
  3. But does that mean that a re-blow, or all chips that come after with a 'cold start' will not have the wheelslip? To me a start up like that occurs after a long shut down. Class 37's wheelsliped much more frequently! I must admit to a vested intrest in the wheelslip......I was the fella that suggested it, largely based on my misspent youth spending some days of my holidays at Exeter, which made me a Class 37 thrash junkie....
  4. Having finally touched, what must be the 'crown jewels' of model railway products, all I can say is 'Simply Outstanding!' Its got to be, beyond question the finest model railway locomotive available RTR. To your credit Accurascale have been in it for the long haul, not compromised (even in spite of looming competition - you have certainly repaid your customers patience and loyalty many times over on this one), and the fruits have your labour have truly blossomed. The problem is beating it for the Class 50! There's a need for a Class 47 to this standard as well....All the rest are well..... Duffs!
  5. *Spoiler alert* Having just seen your post, quite frankly it knocks spots off anything that has gone before. For example, hyperthetically...... if you happened to be a competor who had just done a completely new tool, you wasted your money. If you were a competor and you thought you will bring out a new one to spite the competition, and knacker their sales, then clearly the joke would be on you. You would have just demonstrated that on a like for like product you cannot complete at this level. The stakes of the game were high and you scored home goals!
  6. Maybe just my simple mind but for me the spec is pretty clear.... Beats the competition by a long way and sounds more like a Tractor than anything else on the market currently. Waiting for my 37/6! When you do a proper 'Cornish Tractor' will Model U be producing a St.Blazey driver? They do have specific traits. Plus a sound function for power handle through the windscreen!
  7. I will take comfort in your OCD being worse than mine, admit that I was once given a copy of `Eats, shoots and leaves' which after reading for a few minutes I lost the will to live. I'm sure that there must be literacy groups out there suited to such debate. In comparison to most things in the world the apostrophe does not even come close to a freckle on my bottom. Indeed, I had to break off writing this at this point to go work. At which point during the evening I was clearing up the carnage of 4 assults and someone else got spat at in the face. Such frivolity over the correctness of a apostrophe, in such a wholly incorrect world seems pretty pointless, to the extent I know where an apostrophe should be placed. I hope that my reply is spelt and grammatically correct, so as to cause no further offence. If not, sincre apologies but quite frankly I do not give a f-hook. 😇 See what today brings (won't be a sound Class 37 sob-sob, waiting for a 37/6!). But I guarantee it will be more significant and severe than the odd errant apostrophe.
  8. Not privvy to that (lots appear to be knocking an extra few percent off shortly after the 'honeymoon' period) , but in that case demonstrates people are not willing to pay £220+ for a locomotive. The 47's haven't been out that long, ditto Class 37's! Plus got another batch on the way. Anyway lets get back to the 'masterpieces' associated with this thread....
  9. 7Not seen a Class 37 in the flesh yet. But from seeing the fun of others on YouTube, then I think its fair to say that they look and sound pretty damn good. Some within this thread appear to have had the odd issue, which is bound to happen on a production run of this size. And any comments on here regarding issues I would say, rather than being negative, is because modellers are reaching out for help and with yourselves this medium is one of the quickest. I did eventually get my arm twisted into purchasing a rivals one, but for a very respectable price much lower than £169.95. Its had to go back because it runs like a bag of nails to put it politely, but I have not mentioned it in the appropriate thread because it would be pointless. Just saying for clarity, why I believe any of your models with issues tend to be mentioned here! But looking at the bright side, I think that you have taken lessons learnt from the Deltic, and applied them to this model, and every model that you produce gets better and better. That bodes exceptionally well for the future. Well done, you should be rightly and justly proud of your achievements. The main problem I can envisage s Accurascale Sound Fitted Class 37's being barred from model railway exhibitions nationwide!
  10. That in its self is a very interesting point. I take it that there is no way of delaying sound for a couple of seconds. In multiple, the lead loco errupts first. Likewise if you blow the horn, you only want the front locos to go off!
  11. Its not the manufacturer reducing it's Suggested Retai Price, its traders. Same appears to have happened with 47's & 90's....
  12. In the absence of anyone putting up a video of a sound fitted Class 37,watched the A/S Class 37 detail video again. On BR Green I must admit when you look at the model next to the real thing, then the models green does look a little dull and dingy with it being so dull (unless that is just an early sample?)
  13. In case his wife is monitoring....... The rest are probably in the cars boot, waiting for the chance to be smuggled to them their new home! LOL!
  14. I think that there are a few manufacturers out there that count on your fortuitous situation......and it permits complacency where they can ramp up prices and charge pretty much what they want, for whatever they want. As they say 'A fool and their money is soon parted' Nit going into economic theory, bur.......... For many, quality products at reasonable prices is key, when making purchasing decisions. They are not after something for nothing - but good quality models at a 'fair' price point sells, which is good for the manufacturer in terms of cash flow, not holding stock, ability to invest confidently in new products and profit, retail suppliers as they can sell products on in a short space of time aiding cashflow and profitability, and modellers who get something very nice to enjoy. Hence the popularity and high demand for Accurascale products and the success of the company! Keep it up, and as long as overheads don't spiral out of all proportion, then delivering quality at fair prices is a clear winner for all! Even a fortuitous modeller can buy extra models for the same amount, or dare I suggest treat the order half with the saving (didn't mention that above!) LOL!
  15. This weeks been the best! Wife and kids away. No arguments, no kids fighting, only my own rubbish to sort! Don't need any distractions like them turning up, too busy!
  16. Personality preferred the old livery that 087 and 375?? had. Just too orange and such a thin black line too. Definitely needs something towards the bottom, even just a reflective silver strip.
  17. Don't think any have been dispatched yet? Have they definitely arrived or still waiting customs clearance and warehouse administration?
  18. Easy Answer...... Dear Accurascale Gods, those clayliner wagons look really amazing, and being run in rakes would fit lovely within your 3 wagon packs and rake philosophy. It could also be your first tank, unless you have one in the pipeline (pardon the pun) and fits into 'quirky' with a fair geographical spread. There's original, plus later STS Blue, plus very dirty, which I am sure you would love to see weathered..... Submitted as temptation..... https://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/stsclaylinertta I am sure that you have locomotives in the pipeline suited to this traffic and possibly with Saint Bayer at yourside maybe to use his divine knowledge of all things wagon to see if the chassis has any synergies with any other wagon placed on earth with the mere 'mortals' I would in return, purchase a rake, and make the appropriate offering and sacrifice from my wallet. Give it a couple of years for prayers to be answered........... Amen. P. S. If you don't, that PaulC fella is going to put your couplings on wagons without etched walkways! (That's enough to frighten Fran into agreement!)
  19. I managed a rake of 16 before they sold out. A bit of rule 1 for Devon, but hey-ho!
  20. Maybe it depended on which drivers had lost their car aerials while visiting dodgy watering establishments the previous evenings. To then see a replacement, literally staring at them in the face...........
  21. One for Hornby. They can put the defunct technology for the titfield thunderbolt to good use, instead of pulling the chimney down on the coach, pull the aerial down on the 37 when not in use!
  22. I think that batch 2 has been announced, as a distraction for the inevitable froth. I went back to the October sound video the other day to listen. Still undecided, wether it is too bass-ey or listening on phone that's the problem - if you listern to the start up ticking over, could be empty tin cans behind a car. The thrash certainly sounds promising. Will soon find out..... Certainly look the part, sound, hopeful! On the bright side, after these got the 31 to still use as a, ginnea pig before the all 'important' one! Class 50!
  23. That looks nice! I take it that you have the Hattons wagons to accompany them!
