  1. The reverse side of the control panels There circuit boards are two Lenz LRC120 Loco address displays. These will display the address of what is on the shed tracks - only the first Railcom enabled DCC fitted stock in the section will be displayed and if stock without Railcom enters the shed it will just display nothing I have mounted them using some Lego (other construction toys are available...) 1x2 bricks were superglued to the underside of the panel and 1x2 tiles superglued to the circuit boards of the displays. This allows them to be removed for wiring up and fault-finding. Other switches for signals etc will be added at a later date when needed Thanks for looking Simon
  2. Main control panels Today was spent working on the main control panels. I decided to split the panel at the board join so there are fewer wires crossing the board join. In effect it is one panel split at the board join I have made the "shed" tracks red to make it easier to identify the correct button(s) to press to set the road for the shed tracks or sidings thanks Simon
  3. I looked at your thread because I have visited Chesterfield a lot, as it is only around 20 minutes from where I live. OK, it's not the Chesterfield I was expecting but I do like what you have done with Macclester 😉. Good details and good buildings make it worth following 👍🏻 Keep up the good work Simon
  4. Walkways painted Spent a bit of time in the garage today painting the walkways. I used a little bottle of cheap acrylic dark brown paint from The Range Overall I think it looks good for now (some patches are still wet in the second pic) Thanks for looking Simon
  5. Yep, I can use the money I saved to buy Petrol for the car 😭
  6. Another view of the walkways Thanks Simon
  7. Walkway progress Today I did more work on the siding walkways... and I have now finished all of the walkways up to the buffer stops Cheers Simon
  8. The sounds are superb. I like the way the new curve will also give a reason for a slow exit to or entry from the fiddle-yard (and the new traverser will add so much to layout operation in terms of 'moves') 👍🏻 Simon
  9. Only just found your thread and love the photos. Especially the "ICI hopper" photo from way back 👍🏻 Keep up the quality work you are doing Simon
  10. Today I spent more time on the siding walkways, it's slow progress but it will be worth it in the end. This view is how I left it today - adding to the three walkways already started and starting the fourth Thanks for looking Simon
  11. Photos reloaded Just finished reloading most of the photos A few pics courtesy of AY Thanks for the support over the years 👏🏻 Simon
  12. Photos Reloaded I've just finished reloading most of the missing photos from the thread Here are a couple of AYs pics from BRM I thought I'd also show this previously unseen photo of the fiddleyard Thanks for the interest over the years Simon

Hi Jonny I agree with David about the stock. My garage IS attached to the house but I still don't leave any stock in there, it all comes in when I do Simon
  14. Siding walkways started I have now been working on the four wooden walkways at the sides of the three sidings (in later days only two walkways remained - either side of the siding nearest the depot building) Here you can see the progress made on the first three walkways Thanks for looking Simon
  15. Platforms started This week I started on the platforms. I used an MDF base so the signals, lights etc have a solid mounting point In the above picture, you can see me using a MK3 coach to test clearances. It will be bigger than any Buxton stock used so should mean everything I run fits! 🤞🏻 With the MDF part completed I added the ramps using scraps of plastic card lying around If the clearances are OK during a test session, I will fit the tops (if adjustments are needed the MDF is only screwed on from underneath) I will leave these for now and start on the siding walkways next. Thanks for looking Simon
  16. He'll have it finished tonight and start on another tomorrow! Keep up the good work Andy Simon
  17. It looks appropriately cluttered. I like the new station sign as well. Nicely done Shaun 👍🏻 Simon
  18. That DPU looks superb and sounds even better. It was definitely worth the effort to put sound in it! 👍🏻 Simon
  19. It's looking good. You already can't tell it wasn't always like that! Keep up the good work pal Simon
  20. Good progress mate, only four more points on the "Home" three boards left to fit, keep up the good work Simon
  21. A mini bit of progress The mini control panel for the fiddleyard operator has been fitted today This panel will enable the fiddleyard operator to control arrivals and departures to/from platforms 1 & 2 and the middle road without needing to access the main panel which will be located further up the layout Thanks for reading Simon
  22. Yep, I removed the springs from my 'recycled' points and the ones given to me by Matt had already been used on slow action motors and therefore had them removed already Thanks Simon
  23. First test of 2022 With the warmer weather arriving, I thought it was about time to get in the garage and have a running session. After giving the tracks a clean, I ran a couple of locos (class 25 and a class 37) around every track. Only one point motor needed a minor adjustment to the fulcrum bar, lowering it by a few millimetres to increase the throw I used two handsets with one for loco control and the other to change the points. I intend to start on the control panel(s) soon Thanks for reading Simon
  24. Thanks Neil There probably won't be much happening for a while as the garage is too cold to work in Simon
