  1. Yes, I got it,too. For now, I'll stick with my modded Bachmann Emily.
  2. Alright - Castle Trains in Warwick.
  3. I've seen that bridge quite often in Coventry and I often wondered about it.
  4. What about the L&YR Hughes Class 28 and G&SWR Drummond 403 Class? We can also make the Hughes Experimental Mogul that the Reverend Wilbert Awdry imagined up.
  5. Thanks. I would've used the Sparkshot bodies, but unfortunately, I don't have a Shapeways account and I am unable to purchase them. Plus, I need to find the perfect chassis that would fit the models (loco-drive, not tender-driven) and detailing would be much of a chore. Either way, I am glad somebody likes my models and I am pleased with how they turned out, however, there is room for improvement and I shall see to it one day. I don't look at my models and say "That's it, I'm satisfied." I am ready and willing to go onto the next thing.
  6. You're not wrong there. If there is a woman out there for me, I'm welcome to enjoy the hobby with her.
  7. It looks like Emily's six-wheel coaches appear to be winning...although, on a personal note, I did have some bogie clerestory coaches in dark green in mind.
  8. You mean from an Atlantic to a Ten-Wheeler or a Pacfiic?
  9. I too am in favour of the NBR Pacific. It would be a great model to attempt.
  10. And here is another work in progress which is Emily! She has been detailed and given sprung buffers along with dummy hooks, brake piping, glazed windows and checker-plating. Like I said, it's a work in progress. I also did the same thing with Percy on the same day, so I'll take some pictures of him one day. Let me know what you think of her!
  11. Nice tank engine! It reminds me of the RWS version of Thomas the Tank Engine.
  12. Well, it depends if your partner is interested. They may not always like the same things you do, but it's worth giving a try. I know because I have been there myself. What we need to do right now is get more and more females into the hobby as much as possible. Gone are the Dark Ages for we all nowadays live in a modern, politically-correct post-Suffrage world and the message we want to convey and express with the world is that everyone has a chance or an opportunity no matter who they are, man or woman. Everybody has a chance to try things, but it's wise not to put down somebody just because of who they are, otherwise it's a loss to everyone if a person's talent is wasted. Seriously, we need more girls and women in the model railway world, nowadays.
  13. And here it is, the long-awaited RWS Gordon Model which is complete at last! The model was made using and Hornby A1 body, a Hornby Duchess Chassis and an old Tri-ang Hornby tender. The running-board was made from a wooden coffee-stirring stick and to match the likeness of Gordon in the books. His splashers were modded with a bit of Milliput which was also used to make the face and I seem to be getting good at making my own faces rather than just using faces off wooden Thomas trains. And as an added bonus, I added checker-plating between James' cab and tender: And thus, the Big Engine Trio is now complete! So, let me know what you guys think about these models - I'd certainly love to hear your feedback!
  14. They all look very nice. You don't suppose you could perhaps give us a few examples of the GNR A0/H1 Class assembled and on track, please? It'd be nice to see how those variants would look in finished form.
  15. Thanks. The Ivatt 2MT was in the direction for me. I added the splashers because I had a little James the Red Engine hint going on in the process. I'm fine with the splashers as the way they are whcih gives the engine a flavour of class. Also, I was inspired by the Midland Railway Yankee Moguls and the LMS Hughes Crab Moguls when designing this engine.
  16. Never be ashamed or afraid to unleash the die-hard fan inside you.
  17. A set of locomotives I just made as sprite drawings: Let me know what you guys think - I might attempt some of them in model form.
  18. This is a li'l something what I had as a child and still do. It helped fueled my passion for trains, it did. Listening to it after all these years has brought back fond memories for me.
  19. I like the 0-6-2T tank engine - it's like a mix of the LNWR Coal Tank, the NSR L Class 0-6-2T and the NER N7 0-6-2T. I hope it runs well. Does it also take Hornby and Bachmann stock as well?
  20. What about GWR 2-10-0s? They are a possibilty.
  21. I've seen your models and they looks great . You are not a failure, you're learning all the time and getting good - and so am I.
