Nice model! Corbs wasn't the only one to attempt a Cathedral Class! In fact, his model is just as good, too.

LNWR Experimental Mogul

Thank you, Corbs! I hope your other engines go well! And now, it gives me great pleasure to say that the project is officially complete! The toolboxes have been added on and the finishing touches are done! A loco crew will be needed, but that's for another day. I hope you all enjoyed seeing the progress of this fun project! Talking of which, here is another one in the pipeline... With Oxford Rail's latest release of the GWR 6-Wheel Toad Brake Van, I will be using it to convert into an LNWR Brake Van! Again, thanks for all your support over the last months! Thank you everyone! -
Corbs' Cobbling - Is it electric?

She looks very nice! Another one of your own characters, is she? Oh, how delightful. -
Detailing the Triang 3f

Yes, I agree! If anybody could detail this 3F, then maybe this same treatment could be given to Hornby's James the Red Engine model. -

Here we are once again with my LNWR Mogul! As you can see, the decals have been finally added and the livery has been applied. And there you have it - a work-in-progress finally taking fully-fledged shape. Please do let me know your thoughts in the comments. -
Nice locomotive! Is there a chance of making it into a working 00-Gauge model?

Triang/Hornby 0-6-0 replacement rods, 8'3" + 7'9"

Nice replacement siderods. Any more you can do? -
Well, what are Hornby gonna do with all these unsold models?
-
Correct! Also, a big thank you to everyone for their kind words on this thread of mine, I really do appreciate it. The red engine is a freelance Midland Railway Mogul and the blue engine is a freelance Caledonian 4-6-0 which I have dubbed the Highland Belle. Another locomotive, loosely based on Gresley's W1 'Hush-Hush' 4-6-4, is in the works.

Your Edward model looks very nice! I hope it runs well after all that work. -

Back again with an update on my Mk II Mogul. but first, something drawn by a friend as a gift. Credit goes to Ellie Edwards for the drawing. Just got my Mk II Mogul back as there is some work to be done. The undercoat has been applied and now the work on the livery can begin. -
I like it! I hope it runs well. Can we see it hauling coaches, please?
-
I certainly do and thanks. I wonder what that contraption is...

I know how you feel. If Luke Skywalker learned the dying Jedi ways, then I too will have learned the dying hobby of model railways. 'Cos what with XBox generations and Instagram selfies and Twitter accounts and such, is it me or has the Island of Sodor really had its day? I keep contemplating that myself and all we have left is Hornby Railroad. Bachmann Junior was discontinued and failed miserably, but it was nice to see Bachmann bring out their own Thomas models and re-use them like Hornby did with their 0-4-0 Thomas model. It's hard to let go of something that yopu enjoyed in your youth and became a huge part of you ever since. I know because I sometimes feel that way and for soem reason I have been feeling that way more often than I used to. I honestly can't think why. Still, I can't let such a huge setback stop me from enjoying the things I do and neither should anyone else. Things will change and you can't slam on the brakes or try and change its course of direction. I know how tough it is to look with hope and confidence to look to the coming days, weeks, months and years ahead, but I'm proud to say that every one of us is Really Useful in our own way - me, you and everybody. We can actually make our own models based on Awdry's characters - who needs official licenced models when we can just make our own even from scratch?
-
Yes, it would. With a little luck, good ol' Bachmann themselves would release the range into the UK.

With the help of a friend, I made the Bachmann Emily model into a super-detailed version of her. -
Interesting locomotives! I like the Q1-austerity pacific! Does that run well as well as the other locomotives?
-
You're right - motorizing a tender-driven chassis into a loco-driven chassis (James the Red Engine, for example) would be a challenge, if not, a nightmare. Anyone up to it? If say, then good luck.
-
Why not recycle some of the TTTE moulds and re-use them as different engines? The James model would be perfect as the G&SWR 403 'Austrian Goods' Class 2-6-0.
-
It's like they say, all good things must come to an end. I mean, not everything can go on forever. It was nice to see an E2 back on Hornby's production market, even if it was painted a garish colour and had a face slapped on. Same goes for Hornby's only inner-cylinder 2-6-0 of a 3F although it was painted red and that got a face stuck on the smokebox door.

Detailing the Triang 3f

Yes, nice model! I expect it runs well after all that conversion work. -
