I swore that I would never have another cat after Tyger crossed the bridge, but on the way back from the Columbia (SC) train show about a year or so later I stopped at the Fairfield County animal shelter and ended up with Wingnut: As I told friends: "I came back from the train show with a machine gun and a cat." No one asked about the gun, only about the cat!

Been there, done that with my previous listening buddy Tyger. It is never easy.

I got back from the income tax preparation folks and will get some modeling tokens, more than I expected! At first the refund showed $1900!!!; I knew that was very wrong and upon review, she found a number entered in the wrong box. After correction, the refund amount dropped quite a bit to a level that I expected. Oh well, electronically filed and now I will just sit back and wait for the direct deposit to show up. Yesterday was even better, my mortgage company called with an offer that will save me about a hundred buck each month, the offer is legitimate and I will go for it.

The one time that I used Google Maps to find a friend's house in Chambersburg, PA, it had the house (address, actually) across the street and about a thousand feet to the east. What was really there was a very large water storage tank (several hundred thousand gallons worth). And, no, he did not live in it!

The few items (mostly Bachmann Class 66s) that I won from the UK have been shipped via the Royal Mail small air parcel and have arrived here in ten to fourteen days with no problems and at a reasonable cost.
