  1. Making use of some existing heat without without using any more electricity. Smart move. Plus the heating effect is much more gentle and even; turn the bag in ten minutes!
  2. That is almost as odd as Iceland and New Zealand declaring war on each other.
  3. There was a sigh above the urinals in one of the heads on the U. S. S. Kitty Hawk (CVA-63) that stated: "IF YOU CAN P--- ABOVE THIS LINE, THE SPECIAL FIREFIGHTING TEAM WANTS YOU _____________________________________________________"
  4. I once saw one of those coming in for a landing years ago when driving on I-10 in Arizona and did not think to grab a quick photo with the Instamatic camera on the seat next to me.
  5. I know that it is really Barter Books UK, but I read that with slightly different letter spacing! 😂
  6. First, my pre-order was cancelled by Hatton's closing although I probably would have cancelled anyway. However, one other reason was the fact that nothing has been said about what effect this re-tooling "delay" will have on the pre-order prices. That matters to me.
  7. Tips too? I recall reading about a small (comparatively) cruise ship that the passengers did not tip; company policy, the crew was very well paid.
  8. Something that I was thinking for quite a while but was very hesitant to say anything.
  9. I think that my pre-order (for the BIFFA) has been cancelled. If the pre-orders at Hatton's were not transferred to Rails of Sheffield, then mine is cancelled as I have seen nothing to state that they were transferred. I was planning on cancelling anyway as I am tired of waiting. And I am almost sure that when it finally gets released (2038?), it will cost far more than the pre-order pricing! I will settle for my 00 scale ones.
  10. I just noticed that is Parliament in the backround!
  11. Not vintage but I wanted a bus stop sign from London, the few listed were going for far too many Class 66s; this West Yorkshire Metro one is not London but it is close enough for me; an ebay purchase from a few years ago: What attracted my attention was "Dodd Naze" and especially "Hardcastle Crags". I went on Google Streetview and found the stop location, a nice pleasant-looking location. Here is a sign from Broward County Transit (Ft. Lauderdale, FL was the hub), the agency that I worked for for 24 years. Note that the date on the sign was my first day of retirement: An earlier style that was not in use for too many years before being replaced by the above The latest and greatest, at least when I retired, note that all of the routes shown actually served the main terminal:
  12. Check out a book titled A MAN AND HIS SHIP to read about the ship.

    On Cats

Thank you, I just set that as my desktop backround for today.
  14. Hey there Sunday Shunter, how are you doing? Oh, I do not know about useless/useful information being presented here; almost al of it is at least interesting to say the least.
  15. I thought that it was Alabama, something about Tuscaloosa.
