  1. What is the gauge there? It looks quite narrow to me. Maybe it is the heavy rail that gives that impression. The former Edaville Railroad on Cape Cod used 100-pound rail in spots; it was only 24" gauge!
  2. No, just a personal observation No, I blame it on photo-manipulation software.
  3. That is the most disgusting photo that I have seen!
  4. Well there was a railroad here called the Chessie System, some called it the Cheesy System. It is now CSX; sometimes called the Chicken Something Express!

    On Cats

Well, there were blue and yellow cats ............................................ on Chessie System and on one of its predecessors, the Chesapeake & Ohio. Look up Chessie the cat: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chessie_(mascot)
  6. I read that as Costa Rica and thought that that was a very long way to go for lunch! Oddly, our Broward County Transit bus operators thought that the Golden Arches Supper Club had the second best coffee, 7-11 and Circle K were tied for the best. In reality it was really more like a three-way tie for first, they were that close.

My eyes got a little damp reading that!
  8. Most of those "super yachts" are so ugly that stacking them like containers might just improve their appearance!
  9. I saw this in front of KJ's Grocery store and thought of something else:
  10. @SM42, spóźnione wszystkiego najlepszego!
  11. Saw this glass in an antique mall yesterday: That is Lancaster, South Carolina by the way.
  12. Having been railfanning (trainspotting?) for a very long time, tonight was a first for me. The flashers at the CSX/J. A. Cochran Bypass crossing were flashing and the gates were down with nothing in sight. After a moment or so I heard a strange single-note air horn blowing for the crossing. A Sperry Rail Detector car slowly crossed the road. In all those years this was a first for me!
  13. Hey, even I recognize and know a few lines of that one!
  14. I do play the pipe organ: However just the Winchester chimes and the chiming of the hour (starts the service) when the regular organist has to do the prelude on the piano.
  15. Ah, The proud birds with the yellow tail. I once flew back from Clark to Travis on a Continental military charter. There was a mid-flight fuel stop; Agana, Guam? I no longer remember.
