  1. CV63 controls the volume level, lower it.
  2. Many of biff's newer projects have long engine start sequences and brake releases. Generally it'll only do it once per power cycle so once its went through the process it won't do it again unless the loco is removed from the track or power is cut (either intentionally or by a short)
  3. Worth pointing out that most (if not all) of Hornby's flickering fireboxes are wired to the pickups and not DCC controllable by default therefore won't use a function.
  4. The original factory sound 68's were legomanbiffo but on Loksound V4's. I'm not sure about the later batches of 68's as Dapol have moved to Zimo decoders for factory sound (and the latest N gauge batch specifically says in manual the factory sound is Zimo)
  5. You probably want this: https://www.dckits-devideos.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&path=253_68&product_id=1991 Combine that with Biff's 68 and it'll run as a proper matched set (put both decoders on same address)

    Dapol N Gauge 63xx

Sadly Dapol don't seem to be on the exhibitor list this year.
  7. But oddly enough no news stories of all the diesel powered buses going on fire that happens just as often (if not more so).
  8. Lets not get too ahead of ourselves, nothing Grand Union have proposed so far has actually led to a service starting. Don't even think they could do 125 running on the WCML with 222's anyway, they can't tilt. Should probably take the entire Grand Union discussion elsewhere, I doubt theres even any chance they'll be using the 93's.
  9. Apologies if it sounded like a dig at yourself. It's not your fault. Noticed in Kernow's newsletter today their little update rail motor orders sounds like zero progress from the last update.
  10. Same version I'm waiting on. Have to admit to be a little miffed if you ordered and got it within a week while there is others ordered weeks/months ago still waiting. Maybe Kernow will rethink the idea of decoder fitting themselves for future models.
  11. Kinda glad to see people still waiting on sound fitted ones. I was starting to get a bit worried (ordered in middle of Feb)
  12. Wonder if the upgrade kit will come with the brackets for the speaker.
  13. You may want to specify which models and what the missing function is supposed to be. F3 on some Farish steamers is cylinder drains which I think only works while at low speed/stationary.
  14. They have had a selection of the Model Rail exclusives on their show stands the last few shows I've seen them at.
  15. Unless it was overheating just sitting on the track without any movement/sound/lights then putting it on programming track won't do any harm. Of course if it overheats just by sitting doing nothing then lowering the voltage to the motor won't help and the only viable test would be a different DCC system.
  16. You could try lowering CV53 to reduce the maximum voltage to the motor as a test. Not sure about the figures to use on a 3.5, Lokprogrammer says the default is 56 which equals 14V
  17. ESU seem to have uploaded function mapping files for the Lokpilot's, I'm guessing its the same as the pre-programmed ones from Revolution use. Not 100% sure which one is which (59/0 vs 59/1) https://projects.esu.eu/projectoverviews/8?type=all&order=date&country=gb
  18. Hiding under a rock much? The 88 is being worked on.
  19. Unless its a very weird setup you'd just put the numbers in and completely ignore how the Elite does it.
  20. They could really have done with releasing an actual set based around the Class 08. Having the only 2 starter sets both be practically the same thing (LNER pacific with coaches) probably doesn't do any favours
  21. Its not brain surgery, DCC is is fussier with quality of electrical pickup and I never said anything about improving the pickups on mine, said I got a stay alive fitted. Adjusting the pickups didn't really help and its still 50/50 whether any given attempt to read or write cv's on the programming track will work. Going by the Quarry Hunslet thread in the Bachmann section its not uncommon for the alignment of the pickups to be poor.
  22. The pickups on the Quarry Hunslet aren't the greatest for DCC, mine is a bit of a nightmare to try and program and ran like crap until a stay alive was fitted.
  23. Pretty much my experience of hunt couplings, the 3D printing process is too variable and the material too brittle that there is very little consistancy over a pack of them.
