  1. Why would Dapol's instructions refer to it using the Lais product number if Lais were pirating Dapol's product. Theres no if's, buts or maybes about it. The Imperium 1 and 2 are LaisDCC decoders with the shrinkwrap removed, CV7 changed to Dapol (I think) and stuck in a Dapol box. Never used any of the other Imperium decoders so can't comment on them. Now maybe Dapol didn't exactly rock up to Lais and say "We want to rebadge your decoders, price please" and really just commissioned a factory in China to make decoders for them and said factory just bought them from Lais. Nobody will ever know for sure.
  2. Would probably kill the decoder's amp if you used the Accurathrash without removing the sugarcube speaker on a TXS deocder. You also won't get most of the lights to work with a TXS decoder.
  3. It should just pull out, the locomotive end goes into a standard NEM pocket (so it can be replaced with the standard coupling)
  4. That Engine Shed honestly reads like AI wrote it.
  5. IIRC he put the shunt mode lights on a different function so you could have either. He's a decent bloke, I'm sure he'd remap the functions for you before sending the decoder if you ask.
  6. From my digging about the internet to get opinions on track voltage for my Z21 a common theme was US based modellers/forums seem to suggest 12-14v for N gauge and 14-16v for HO/OO. I currently have mine set at 14.5 but I'm still undecided on whether to go higher or not. The fun and games with my Accurascale Class 37 motor makes me paranoid.
  7. Pretty sure they are only "built in" because the decoder is pre programmed to use those modes. If you really wanted to theres nothing stopping you programming the headlight on a Class 37 to be a mars light for example.
  8. Bare in mind altering CV60 will likely change all the lights. If you want to try and dim the directional lights separately from the interior you'd need to use the swiss mapping and map out the functions and dimming levels there. Easy (if a bit hard to wrap your brain around) with Decoder Pro but a bit of a nightmare with manual CV changes.
  9. No reason the motor wouldn't work with a Lenz decoder. The differing standards for 21pin relate to function outputs. As the model has a built in stayalive make sure CV29 is set to disable analogue running.
  10. Not that simple, after the first 6 months you generally need to prove the issue existed at the time of purchase.
  11. Probably because you want to be able to choose which sound file to use.

Going by past mistakes they've made. Nothing at all.
  13. Dapol's 8 function is full power on the functions. The 6 function has the logic level functions that 90% of models use. The pre-programmed LokPilot for the Cavalex 56 has this oddity in the function mapping: To me thats saying Aux11 is always activated. Why? I have no idea but probably worth trying to map FO11 to a function key and turning it on with your Zimo
  14. The 33's are all "sound ready" in so much as theres space for one without modifications. The 21pin ones might come with the plug/socket on the board for a speaker.
  15. An EM1 will fit without mods but only just barely. Best speaker in my experience for the nervous would be a Rail Exclusive 55x20 Chunky Boom Box or even easier to fit, the 40x20 Boom Box https://railexclusive.com/product/sp55x20x10-chunky-boom-box-speaker/ https://railexclusive.com/product/sp40x20x10-boom-box-speaker/ Also available from YouChoos and Digitrains amongst others.
  16. IIRC they have to give 2 weeks notice for strikes so Model Rail Scotland is safe.
  17. 6 months is pretty much the legal minimum
  18. Attached is the export from the Lokprogrammer. Note: It isn't as simple as just programming these CV's into the decoder manually because of the indexed CV's. DecoderPro has an import lokprogrammer cv list option though. 56.docx
  19. The Hornby TXS ones are slightly bigger than the Heljan plugs. On the plus side I managed to find one I bought from Roads and Rails when they still sold em.
  20. Translated from marketing speak: It'll be a new project on an MS decoder instead of MX.

There is actual pictures up on Rails and Kernow's websites (Kernow only has the BR livery pictures atm, Rails has both). The angles aren't great but the smokebox dart does look moulded on. The handrail I'm not so sure about it.
  22. Swap the position of the fan switches (the 4 way switch) to the opposite of what the manual says for ESU decoder switch positions. Worked for me.
  23. By the looks of the pictures I've seen the TXS decoder will be too wide to fit the space.
