  1. Well this should be entertaining....
  2. Via the form on http://www.modelrailoffers.co.uk/contact Just a general description of the issue and asking if its possible to return for a replacement.
  3. I've started the ball rolling on sending mine back due to the judder/hestitation and noise, bit of a pity cause its a lovely model. No response to my query via the website yet but its not been that long since I submitted it.
  4. Unless its had a repaint in the last couple of years the real Maude isn't even in the NBR livery now.
  5. The master volume on all TTS decoders seems to be a write only CV and can't be read. Don't think I've had any problem changing it on Tornado or Maude using my Sprog in normal programming mode though. Might have to do some testing...
  6. Anyone else notice their J70 slighty stuttering while running? Mine runs great at all speeds but when just running around at medium speed you can kinda see a tiny stutter, more noticable on the wagons its hauling than the J70 itself. I'm using a Zimo MX617N in it, wonder if it needs more CV tweaks for its coreless motor or even a different decoder.
  7. Somehow I get the feeling this "special" decoder is going to be a standard 21pin Zimo or ESU with the correct function output preconfigured for the servo. Theres an entire section in the Zimo manual for the CV's to modify servo behaviour.
  8. Anyone else been as unlucky as me and got a pack with 3 end coaches and no centre one? Somewhere out there is an olive green set with 2 centre coaches and only 1 end coach....lol
  9. Got a Q1 which I think was fine while Tornado was running, will have to test. Unless Tornado has multiple capacitors fitted its attached at the motor instead of anywhere near the decoder.
  10. Might have to try removing the capacitor from Tornado if/when I'm feeling brave enough. Next 8pin socket loco I get I'll try the Lenz decoder again and see if it was limited to the Class 71 or the decoder itself.
  11. I believe 68010 is also fitted with the AAR multiple working equipment which 68005 isn't. 68008 and 68009 are the only DRS Compass liveried ones with the AAR kit I think.
  12. I have a Tornado with TTS fitted and a Class 71 using a Lenz Silver Direct. If Tornado is running the Class 71 won't respond to commands until Tornado is stopped (can be stopped with the sound still on, just as long as its not above speed step 0). Class 71 works perfectly normally with other decoders in it and Tornado remains fully controllable at all times. Using a Prodigy Express (squared) controller. Any ideas? Tried resetting the decoder and DC running is one of the first things I turn off on decoders...
  13. If its anything like the recent Tornado TTS fitted release then DC running was turned off out of the box on the two I've had.

    Dapol Class 21/29

They weren't at Model Rail Scotland.
  15. Possible stupid question but is 33111 supposed to have any lights?
  16. Try https://www.Dapol.co.uk/pdfs/imperium%20cvlist_1-0D.pdf for the CV information for the Imperium. There is a belief that the Imperium's are rebranded LaisDCC so the documentation for them should apply.
  17. To be honest from reading the Zimo manual it might actually be the MX638 that can change between the C and D variants and not the 634. For what its worth my 4TC has a cheap and cheerful LaisDCC decoder in it and everything works fine.
  18. Nothing yet, hence the question. Normally the instructions with a model mention any maintenance things like oiling points on axles or gears but the 156 manual has nothing (possibly a Rapido thing since the Revolution Pendolino manual is also devoid of any maintenance info).
  19. Try setting CV8 to 3, The 2 extra functions on a 634D are full power instead of logic level and IIRC the 4-TC wants a logic level function for the interior lights. Zimo manual claims changing CV8 to 3 will change the 634D into a C which has the logic level functions
  20. After a bit of oil on the coach axles and much more running in things seem fine now - excellent little model
  21. Maybe a stupid question but where (if anywhere) do you lubricate when required?
  22. Anyone have any issues with the haulage capacity of their H class? I got the Pull-Push set and it seems to struggle a little with its own 2 coaches when there is any sort of tiny incline on the track. Runs perfect on its own. Ironically my little Peckett seems to manage the coaches better.
  23. Would anyone be able to post a nice high res pic of the PCB of 10201 or 10202? Curious about the differences between the the PCB on the first batch and the one fitted to 10203 as from the low res pics I've found they seem to have removed the decent sized capacitor/stay alive and added two small capacitor type things (I'm useless at electronics so no idea what they actually are) near the DCC socket.
  24. However the Hornby one is a pain if you want DCC and/or sound
  25. On mine the front car has CV29 set at 2 and the rear set to 3. (DC running disabled) Works perfectly. If you want DC running you probably want to set CV29 to 6 and 7. Do note the recommendation with the 156 is to program each car separately but to the same address. CV29 set to 5 disables 28/128 speed steps which I'm pretty sure the lights on the 156 won't be a fan of.
