  1. I plan to do the loco with inside cylinders, one of the reasons for that is because it looks nothing like a quarry hunslet. here is a mockup of what it will look like.
  2. Over the last few days, I have been working to get a bigger set of cylinders on taking inspiration by this photo (http://www.douglas-self.com/MUSEUM/LOCOLOCO/fireless/Huntpalm1b.jpg) This is one of the unmodified cylinders. They're from a Hornby railroad pacific (Tornado or Flying Scotsman) After some cutting, superglue and model filler they were on. I've also put some fishing weights in the front, they're stuck there with superglue. And I've done the same for the piece of reservoir that sticks into the cab. I've also filled the two holes for where the bonnet used to sit.
  3. Rang hattons and it turns out they only got it Friday afternoon, so they haven't had time to send a replacement.
  4. I still haven't got my replacement, an email will be sent tomorrow (or Monday) to find out whats going on.
  5. I've realised that the locomotive doesn't actually resemble an Andrew Barclay locomotive, so thanks to Gary (BlueLightning) its now a Bandrew Arclay design that has been adapted and built by the Hackett Locomotive Works.
  6. You wanted a pugbash thread http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/120431-show-us-your-pugbashes-nellieboshes-desmondifications-jintysteins/
  7. One thing I heard about having a point coming at an angle form the fiddleyard, is that it would be a pain to build the fiddleyard. I decided to have a rethink. This was my first idea. I was then advised by BlueLightning that it would be impossible to join the fiddleyard to the main layout, so I put the 3 way point on the main layout. Those coupling ramps won't be used, I only used them for the mockup.
  8. I remember we talked about a large tank engine, something like A 0-8-0 or 0-10-0, perhaps you could work on that next?
  9. Ran my coronation this morning and as it went round bends it clicking, and the motor was really loud. rang Hattons and they said if I send it back they will send a replacement, so I've got it all parcelled up ready to be sent off.
  10. My Coronation came today, I'm really impressed and can't wait to photograph it with the Hornby peckett I have on pre order.
  11. Mine hasn't been dispatched yet because they've needed to change the decoder for another one, but I'm more than happy to allow them to change the decoder.
  12. Had an email saying my one has been processed. I don't think it has been dispatched yet.
  13. Haven't yet heard if mine has been dispatched.
  14. I read in model rail that there's a new batch of USA tanks planned.
  15. Could I use something like this (http://www.hattons.co.uk/41988/Woodland_Scenics_HL656_Hob_E_Lube_Moly_Grease/StockDetail.aspx) on the worm gears of locomotives?
  16. Would sewing machine oil be good for lubricating locomotives? and would the worm gear on a loco be better greased than oiled?
  17. A couple of days ago, I caved in and pre ordered one. I've got 828 as preserved.
  18. I've got coronation on order, I chose that one as it's quite useful because it's got no company logo on the sides. Katie was never really an option for me being the shade of red that it is and the big buffers, makes it look too toy like to me.
