  1. Has anyone had one of these apart? if so how do they come apart?
  2. I think if you put the nameplates on the front tank of Revenge that could look good
  3. I'd like to see something Narrow Gauge, maybe an ROD Hunslet to go with the Baldwin
  4. As for loco's, I'm hoping for something that originated from the GER, so a J69, E4 or something else from the GER. As for wagons, an LNER bogie brick wagon as I've just built a parkside kit and it'll be just my luck As for coaches, hopefully something that originated from the GER As for diesels I don't really know, but I've heard that the 47 needs a retool, so I'll go with that.
  5. And once again, I have broken it

    Hornby D16/3

    Why did you re-motor it?
  9. Is a way I can prototypically run one on a Great Eastern reigon layout? I know the LNER allocated some J50's to GER reigon, but where there any J72's?
  10. Well, I'm happry to say it is now finished. I've painted the sleeper pile with Railmatch frame dirt, and stuck it and the rails and wheelsets down with superglue. Here is some stock posing on Ashe yard.
  11. After a long time, I decided I didnt like the ballast I used initially. So I've changed it to a mix of Chinchilla dust and black powder paint, I I used a 50/50 mix of PVA glue and water, and it cracked. So today (leaving it to the last minute as usual for me) I went and filled in those cracks, glued the hut down, made a sleeper pile (which will get some paint tomorrow) and painted some old rails. I used Humbrol 113 to paint the wheelsets and rails, tomorrow's job is to find a final place for them.
  12. From Hattons' website: 'Please note that a small allocation of our stock for this item will arrive in September the remainder arriving in mid October'
  13. I can think of 3 types they could be: Gresley Thompson MK1 If I saw the photo's I might be able to tell which
  14. I have decided to set this layout in 1930 as thats the year the Y10's were introduced, but some Y6's were still working on the W&U.
  15. I have decided to set this layout in 1963 as by that point the late crest was in use. This may change as I am looking into when the first diesel shunters were introduced.
  16. One of the things I've been working on is this workman's hut. Made from a Triang LNER 20T brakevan body, I've put it on some sleepers and given it an overall weathering with Humbrol smoke weathering powder. Its not quite finished yet.
  17. Hi all Recently I have been inspired by Chris Nevard to build a small OO gauge layout for the forthcoming model rail J70. so I found a shelf, some track and some buildings and got thinking, and this is what I came up with. The track is all Hornby settrack I had lying around, but I will replace the two points with Peco electrofrog points. It will be DCC controlled, And is 2.5ft (L) x 1ft (W) the buildings you see are from the Hornby Scaledale and Airfix ranges.
  18. Another locomotive arrived today, In the form of the Hornby collectors club GWR 101, which will be repainted in BR black.
  19. Long time no update! To start, the peice of plywood you have seen in previous shots has now been deemed scrap. The bigger peice it came from had been lying in the garden for quite a long time, I have been advised that using plywood that has been sat outside exposed to the elements for a long period of time doesn't make good baseboard material. So a trip a builders merchants is needed. With that over, I can get on with what this update is actually about; some of the stock that will run on Wagonsworth. Something I have been planning for a while is repainting my Hornby Sentinel, and as you can see it has now happened, I still need to give it a coat of matt varnish, weather it and order nameplates but apart from that its done. Talking of paint, the fireless loco now has a coat of paint. Its still not 100% finished as you can see from the photo, but its nearly there. I've also been doing some weathering, amongst other things, I've done these 3 grain wagons. I mixed up a mixture of humbrol dark earth weathering powder and tap water, brushed it on the wagon, then I used a cotton bud to give the effect that the dirt has been washed down by the rainwater. I still need to do the underframes, but apart from that they're done. You may have seen from those photos that my choice of coupling system has changed, I am now in the process of converting my stock to 3/screw links.
  20. The fat controller ask Thomas: Do you know where Percy is? Thomas: No I don't sir, last time I saw him he was flying over Knapford, apparently I'm the only one that saw him doing that, a bit odd to me.
