  1. Received Bluebell and Primrose yesterday and they're both delightful, running well straight out of the box. Take note of the Detail Parts you receive - with Primrose only two of three oil cans were included though both had four SR Route Indicator Disks (whereas the accompanying paperwork says three). In summary, great work Hatton's!
  2. I know, I know - sorry! Maybe I should have put that they've been 'eagerly awaited' - how does that sound?
  3. Finally! It's been a long wait... Credit to Hatton's for merging my two separate orders thus saving on postage (despite being told over the phone it couldn’t be done!) - pre-ordered Bluebell in October and then Primrose in February and received an 'order merged' notification this morning.
  4. Don't get me wrong, I'm not expecting an entire volume... ...perhaps just a little more fanfare considering it was frontpage (and mentioned twice)!
  5. I haven't purchased Railway Modeller for years, but bought the April'18 issue yesterday due to the P Class review - a stopgap until delivery. Despite being frontpage, I was disappointed with just two pages and limited text. Appreciate the P Class isn’t new, and the variants widely known, but it left me a little underwhelmed!
  6. This layout was commissioned on my behalf; see Great Coles Wood Halt (was City Goods Inspired 22L Micro Layout). I'm currently working on a website (greatcoleswoodhalt.com) to give more detail about the construction and have just written a comprehensive (if entirely fictional) history of the branch. The layout will be featured in the April'18 edition of Model Rail. Adding a cassette would definitely add more operating scope! It was something I considered but ultimately wanted the layout entirely self-contained. The remote rural siding is inspired by Imberhorne Farm on the Tunbridge Wells & Three Bridges line, although the track layout was very different. By basing the layout in 1961, as a fictional preserved railway, it can benefit from a little modellers license...
  7. I noticed online that the Club Exclusive description (which makes little sense) will come complete "with etched brass header boards as shown". Needless to say the two images shown do not include header boards, but a picture from Warley can be seen here. Would be surprising to see these included, even in an accessory pack?
  8. I pre-ordered Bluebell in October but having written an elaborate backstory for my micro layout I've now decided 27 'Primrose' is essential, an absolute must. As you say, an addiction is an addiction...
  9. Thanks for the heads-up, Andrew - I'd been periodically checking to see whether anything had changed as I hadn't received any notifications either... The process wasn't easy; joined immediately after reading your post and despite receiving my membership number on email whenever I clicked on Pre-Order Now under the Club Model I was informed that it's a Membership Restricted Product... Fearing the secret was out I emailed and then hurriedly tried to ring, but an automated message said that the office was now closed until Monday (this was at mid-afternoon on the 23rd)! Knowing my luck, I bit the bullet and went through the membership process again online - thankfully it worked and 263 is now safely pre-ordered!
  10. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/20082-why-are-preserved-railways-so-unpopular-as-layout-subjects/ ...some light reading, perhaps!
  11. That's great, thank you; I've read various threads and note that heights can be a bit problematic (even between the front and rear of a locomotive in some-cases). Thanks as well for identifying the magnets, much appreciated!
  12. Really is very atmospheric, Paul. How do you find Kadee couplers? Can I assume you manually uncouple? I'm trying to decide on the best solution without making much progress!
  13. Brilliant, Paul. The depth the backscene adds, particularly image #4, is very impressive!
  14. Only this morning I reread all three pages of City Goods to familiarise myself and following your post in December (#69) was going to ask about your progress! Love the initial images and very much look forward to seeing this evolve. PS. Your Cakebox Challenge entry was superb...
  15. A work commitment meant I had to be at Stansted yesterday evening, thus swiftly made arrangements to visit the exhibition. Although the venue was a little difficult to (initially) navigate, a great exhibition with a nice variation of layouts; Arun Quay and Lower Exbury particularly stood-out for me, but needless to say all very impressive! I also had the pleasure to chat with Mr Muspratt, whilst being transfixed by Fisherton Sarum - a keen follower of his blog, I didn't appreciate just how 'involved' he his with the RTR manufacturers! The complimentary colour show guide, free for paying visitors, is very good as well - in-depth reviews of each layout with track-plans too. As can be seen on the attached, I also paid Alan Buttler of Modelu a visit - who recognises me loitering?
  16. Here's hoping! With No 263 on the horizon I registered interest in The Collector long before Christmas, but nothing received as yet...
  17. Easily pleased, H Class in 'Era 4'. Note however the text for 31265 is the same as that for the 'deffered' 31518...
  18. No need to apologise! I would agree this shot suggests the smaller one should be at the front HOWEVER I have embarrassingly just found a post from June'14 showing a sample with the taller one at the front... ...and I've supposedly read this thread twice, shocking! Hopefully this concludes the doubt, but why not include some supporting paperwork in the box? Many thanks to those who assisted.
  19. No Decorum, thank you for taking the time to post; you're spot-on! In hindsight, looks like I didn't make myself too clear, sorry... Looking back at the picture I posted, the pipes third and fourth from the left have pegs equidistant HOWEVER are a different shape with one being slightly taller than the other (the fourth on the left being taller, albeit marginally). From your picture, I think you've this one on the front? I found an article from the August'17 issue of Modelling which suggests that to be the case. Apologies to prolong this...
  20. Perfect, thank you both; two excellent collections. I just need to workout now whether the taller pipe is at the front or back... http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/uploads/monthly_03_2015/post-5613-0-38447900-1426419727_thumb.jpg https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/636/22375389682_62341e2fbb_b.jpg ...I'm inclined to think it should be at the back?
  21. A shameful 'bump' I'm afraid, having again sifted through Google images and every page of the thread just in-case I'd missed anything! If there's nothing definitive, would anyone be able to suggest a publication that might be beneficial? Thanks again.
