  2. My only annoyance is I parted with £29.99 in Aug'18 and would have appreciated an update or two in that time...
  3. Unfortunately long since demolished; picture can be found here: - https://www.flickr.com/photos/31890193@N08/9517782201
  4. Publishing was delayed until after Christmas but eventually received (in the UK) at the end of January!
  5. Received an A4 colour printout in the post this morning with an update about The Collector: - - The annual Club locomotive is Holden 101 Class, 0-4-0T - Hornby 100 (R3867) - The exclusive Hornby Collector Club Model is a 2020 Hornby Roadshow Wagon (R60004) at £5.99 H Class 263 (R3648) is also still shown as available to Club Members at £99.99.
  6. Canute Road Quay never disappoints; something always happening! Today was the first time seeing the layout with quayside sounds which were great, really immersive. I think DCC steam can sometimes sound a little 'tinny' so to have real shunting sound-clips in the background makes a big difference.
  7. For anyone intending to visit this weekend (February, 15th-16th), it's worth checking your journey: - https://www.railadvent.co.uk/2020/02/landslip-shuts-east-grinstead-railway-line.html

  10. Worth adding that No 263 has a flared bunker in preservation which is replicated on R3648.
  11. News from the Bluebell Railway dated December, 15th: - https://myemail.constantcontact.com/News-from-the-Bluebell-Railway.html?soid=1108082818574&aid=F0qbVsPgixw
  12. Thanks again - grateful for the info. There's a few companies that offer laser cut versions (Scale Model Scenery, for example) so may give them go... I purchased a Scenecraft Ground Frame Hut recently and am looking at how best to customise!
  13. Appreciate it, Owain - thank you - it's still on their website so will investigate further!
  14. Enjoying following the progress! May I ask how you made the signal box nameplate? Is it laser cut?
  15. Unfortunately "the order book is currently closed on all versions" however "there is a small possibility a few will become available once in stock but this is not guaranteed"... https://railsofsheffield.com/news/articles/3044-rails-br-ex-secr-dia-1424-van
  16. Project update in today's Engine Shed with decorated samples: - https://www.Hornby.com/uk-en/news/the-engine-shed/lms-lswr-brake-vans-new-samples
  17. Resurrecting a thread and quoting myself... Last weekend I visited the Mangapps Railway Museum which has been established on a farm at Burnham-on-Crouch, Essex (there was no railway history there prior to 1989) - for their thirtieth anniversary they had a varied mix of traction and carriages, not forgetting a Canadian Pacific Railway Caboose! Whilst Rule One may occasionally seem far too outlandish, you'd be surprised...
  18. Thank you for that! Pleasant surprise to visit the link this morning (09:31 on the 11th) to see Galatea simmering away!
  19. Absolutely. A visit to the Spa Valley Railway generally offers an eclectic mix of locomotives and rolling stock - on Saturday, the 10:30 'steam' service from Tunbridge Wells West was hauled by an industrial locomotive with a Class 33 at the rear. Rolling stock consisted solely of MK1s, the majority in BR green and one in BR blue/grey! This isn't a reenactment group, it's a heritage railway.
  20. Following a recent Instagram post this is set to be "released this autumn"...
  21. I agree with the sentiment that modelling a heritage railway requires the same discipline and there are examples as to why it doesn't always work, but to have "locos never actually preserved" seems a little harsh! We're all in the hobby for various reasons (with differing recollections and aims) so beyond Rule 1 I don't think it's too much of an issue if done sympathetically. Not the point I'm making, but there are occurrences where one locomotive masquerades as another for photoshoots, etc?
