  1. Sorry if that confused you. Just making a suggestion.
  2. The signature says it all! For now at least, I may remove it soon. EDIT: Since has been removed.
  3. That is true, but this is more of a 'what if' sort of thing. Those who know my fictional layout Kingsborough, would know I have already mentioned the transfer of a couple of 112's, and a 113. This set actually I'm building would have been transferred to Kingsborough after withdrawal. Really the title should say 1969 rather than 1966 coming to think of it. Sounds stupid I know but I thought this would be more interesting (and cheaper) than a buying Bachmann class 105. Something not already made in RTR (although the 105's are almost identical other than the 112's and 113's having singular 238hp Rolls Royce engines rather than the typical 150hp AEC and Leyland ones) and not to mention the fact that you can point out 'I built that!' when someone looks at your model.
  4. I was going to say make something like an LNER C12, but I did also get a Hornby D49 today (early birthday present!) so a 4-4-0 is an option too.
  5. Do you plan on this being a tender or tank loco? I'm thinking you should go with a 4-4-2 either way.
  6. Hi all, Some may know I have been mentioning my plans for this project for quite some time now, so I've finally come around to posting it. For this project I thought I'd make a separate thread rather than putting it in my current workbench, so here it is! I have most of the materials I need so I hope to at least start marking out what to cut out on the sheets of plasticard I've got for the project and I'm hoping to use the Replica Railways die cast chassis for the DBMS car, so hopefully I can get my hands on one soon. An image of what I'm basing this on: http://www.railcar.co.uk/images/uploads/112/1600/class-112-dmu-1454082103-1600.jpg The cars will be formed as per listed: DBMS - DMC OR DBMS - *TC - DMC *As Class 112's never had TC vehicles in them I've decided to put another type instead. A working like this has been recorded with a Class 127 centre car, however this was for a Class 113. I don't know exactly what centre car I'll use just yet, though. NOTE: I am aware that Class 112's only really worked the LMR but I'm using this for my fictional layout 'Kingsborough'. In fiction the set I'm building was one of two Cravens Power twin sets (along with a random centre car) to be transferred here for 'scrapping' after withdrawal. They were returned to service relatively quickly and continued to do so until 'Kingsborough' became part of a preserved railway. EDIT: Title change and additional information.
  7. What style lettering do you intend on using?
  8. I don't know for sure but this may or may not be for MTU engine fitted HST's to replace the original Paxman Valenta vehicles. Perhaps this is for extra ventilation?
  9. And it's a bit more relevant to my current interests too. I've been itching to make this particular train for over 6 months!
  10. Funny you mention the Replica chassis... I plan on using one for another scratchbuilding project I'm soon going to start - still a 1st gen DMU but this time a Cravens class 112.
  11. £31 for a Pacer anyone? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-OO-CLASS-142-PACER-2-CAR-RAIL-BUS-NORTHERN-SPIRIT-GOOD-RUNNER/173193853368?_trkparms=aid%3D777003%26algo%3DDISCL.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D49920%26meid%3Dfd04c460595d4b88b8954cbdec0bae1e%26pid%3D100012%26rk%3D5%26rkt%3D12%26sd%3D263544183614%26itm%3D173193853368&_trksid=p2047675.c100012.m1985
  12. I think there already is. Saw it about a month ago.

Got materials today for my Class 112 so all I need to do is actually start it now!

  14. Are both models made around the same time? I'd assume so but I've found that sometimes different batches of models regardless of how similar they appear to be may run differently. Or maybe was one used more than the other prior to the decision to multiple work them?
  15. Perhaps this is supposed to be at a fictional location?
  16. I had a quick look and it kind of does look Dutch/Danish. Perhaps the design may have originated there.
  17. Most of my stuff is RTR although I have tried scratchbuilding before, although this didn't turn out great I plan to have another stab at it some time (hopefully) very soon. I find scratchbuilding is good for making things you can't already get in RTR (and in my case at times, can't afford) but other than that I usually default to the RTR, however I find brand new RTR can sometimes be filled with gimmicks and are lots (in my opinion) are overpriced, especially non British outline models.

  19. I don't mind the constructive criticism but I do mind extreme negativity. Thanks for the help.
  20. Well I'll be armed with the Craftsmanship/Clever button.
