  1. I didn't know whether to post this in this section or in the DVD/Video/TV section. Does anyone know if there is any footage of EMU's on either the East Coastway Line or West Coastway Line is Sussex in the 1970s/80s/90s on any of the commercial DVDs currently available, e.g by Transport Video Publishing or similar?
  2. Does anyone have a copy of this book? I presume it follows a similar approach to his through the 1960s book but I don't have that one either.
  3. Following my recent thread on freight movements between St Leonards and Brighton, does anyone know what freight movements would have occurred on the Brighton to Littlehampton line in the 1970s and 1980s, particularly which would trundled through West Worthing? Were they any parcels services on this line during this period?
  4. There are a couple of pictures in the Middleton Press book: South Coast Railways - Eastbourne to Hastings showing the St Leonards to Brighton freight service headed by a Class 73. What freight and what type of wagons would have been carried in the mid 1970s and 1980s. I presume there must have been more variety than just the tankers for Galley Hill? Would 12T vent vans have been seen in the early 1970s for use with general merchandise?
  5. Research indicates that the Addiscombe goods yard was closed in 1968. Does anyone know what freight would have been handled at Addiscombe in the last few years? Just coal in 16T mineral wagons or general merchandise in 12T vanfits as well? Would a Class 33 or 73 have been used on freight services? Does anyone also know when Addiscombe lost its direct services to London? I have seen photos of 4EPB EMUs at Addiscombe during the early 1970s and surely this was excessive for just going to Elmers End and back. Any info will be gratefully received.
  6. Thanks for the heads-up. That is a shame there are no photos from East Anglia but I'm sure it will be an interesting read regardless.
  7. My Uncle used to work at the Metal Box factory in Arbroath. Does anyone have any details or photos of the rail link to the factory in the 1960's/70's and 80s? What services would have been generated by the factory? Presumably steel in and cans and scrap metal out. Would they have been Class 26 / 27 hauled?
  8. Yes, it is by David Dunn. The ISBN no. is 1909625787. I suppose the West Highland and Morayshire are the areas the First Generation diesels operated, nothing on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line and Far North line I suppose?
  9. Does anyone have this book, newly released by Book Law Publications on 30 November 2017. http://www.booklaw.co.uk/shop/index.php?id_product=3932&controller=product
  10. Thanks Rangers - can you recommend any specific Peter Davies' books as I don't think I've come across that author before.
  11. Can anyone recommend any suitable rigid (i.e. not articulated) grain tipper lorries in 4mm OO gauge, similar to that shown in the image below. I am modelling the 1960s/70s period. I can't seem to find any decent ones on the market, i.e. Oxford Diescast or Pocketbond "Classix".
  12. Which of the 'Blues' whisky wagons do you have on your layout? I think I've seen one with the 'Haig' advertising boards. Any other future dates for exhibitions lined up?
  13. What did people think of the modified Newhaven Harbour layout that was exhibited? Any photos would be appreciated.
  14. I think passenger services ended in 1964.
  15. Just before the line closed, did the Wells-Next-The-Sea DMU services terminate at Dereham or carry onto Norwich?
  16. I was wondering if anyone knows if scale drawings exist of the former Granary, Dairy, and Goods Shed at North Elmham on the Mid-Norfolk line?
  17. George, I was wondering how you made the blue Eastern Counties Farmers sign?
  18. I've posted a Class 122 related topic in the Railways of Cornwall special interest thread and would welcome any suggestions/ideas/help. http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/124458-class-122s-in-cornwall-in-midlate-1960s/
  19. With Dapol having just released their new Dapol Class 122 Bubble cars, I am looking to get one in green with small yellow warning panels for my Cornwall based branch line terminus layout. Can anyone let me know what codes would be suitable for the route indicator panels for the St Ives, Falmouth and Looe branch lines in the mid to late 1960's (I have seen '2C' on a lot of photos of similar bubbles in the area during this era) and what numbers of the Class were frequent visitors to the area on these lines?
  20. Is it only the BR Green livery with small yellow panels version of the Class 122 that has the 2 digit reporting panels? I was hoping the BR blue version would.
  21. Do you know what the headcode reporting number for the King’s Lynn – Peterborough parcels service is?
  22. George You may be interested to know that the Transport Treasury has uploaded some photos on the Wisbech to Kings Lynn (via Magdelan Road) line during the period of your layout. They look to be taken around the same time as Andrew Ingram's photos or maybe even slightly earlier The link is here: http://thetransporttreasury.zenfolio.com/p115925132 The references for the photos taken on the line are as follows: D477 D5522 tn frt Smeeth Road D1582 March-bound DMU at Emneth D247 D5573 tn Emneth D458 March-bound DMU lvg Emneth D1643 Peterborough-bound DMU at Middle Drove D1644 March-bound DMU entg Middle Drove D130 Derby DMU at Middle Drove stn D493 March-bound DMU entg Middle Drove stn D1122 March-bound DMU & Kings Lynn-bound DMU at Middle Drove
  23. Can anyone point me in the right direction of any photos which show passenger services combining a mix of maroon and blue/grey Mk1 coaches on the Kyle of Lochalsh line?
