  1. do you know which Cep and Bep units were allocated to Brighton for Central Division main line use during the 1970s and 1980s?
  2. Thanks, what an excellent photo. I don't remember Platform 4 - does anyone know what services would have used this platform?
  3. excellent work, looks amazing. Any chance you can scan the bottom right hand corner (i.e Eastbourne) in a higher resolution so the text is easier to read? Thanks for all your hard efforts!
  4. I know they were incredibly rare as this were ostensibly the domain of the 4-CIG (and 4-VEP) post 1972 but does anyone know of any photos (or any details) of 4-CEP and 4-BEP services on the East Coastway Line, ideally between Eastbourne and Hastings? I have heard anicdotal evidence they did run sometimes if there were stock shortages, failures, etc. I'm pretty sure I never saw any but only spent holidays down there. Also interested on the section of the East Coastway Line between Brighton and Lewes, and the Seaford Branch as well. Any help in any era would be appreciated.
  5. Does anyone produce an AEC or AEG transfomer wagon load in OO / 4mm scale, similar to that shown in the images below?
  6. The holy grail was seeing a 4CEP or 4BEP on East Coastway services!
  7. Thanks very much, I don't believe there was much freight either, other than the oil tanks to Galley Hill and the odd engineer train.
  8. Thanks Brian, very helpful, whether any went on the Eastbourne to Hastings line remains unclear though it seems, but probably not!
  9. Does anyone know if there were any newspapers and parcel services operating on the Southern Region East Coastway Line in the 1970s and 1980s, specifically between Eastbourne and Hastings, but also on the Seaford? I presume if there were, they would have a mix of Class 33 and 73 hauled, and would have consisted on the usual combination of CCT/PMV/GUV/Full brake, etc vans?
  10. In the open wagon, what product have you used to represent the whisky barrels?
  11. Nice to see the R6978 St. Ivel, 6-wheel Milk Tanker, 44029 - I don't think we've seen this livery since the old Lima days.
  12. The station that is still open - NOT the Buxton (Midland) railway station that closed in 1967.
  13. Can anyone recommend any books covering Buxton Railway Station (Derbyshire) detailing the 1960's / 1970s period?
  14. Some photos of a recent visit which shows that one of old Middle Drove platforms complete with shelter and parcels hut is still very much in existence.
  15. I'm researching a potential new layout of East Kilbride - can anyone let me know the classes of DMU's that would have served the area in the 1970s and 1980s? Would the daily pick up goods service only ever handled by a Class 20 in this period or were other classes used?
  16. Does anyone know what all these 12T vanfits in Penryn goods yard (I'm guessing the early to mid 1960's) in a photo for sale on Ebay would have been used for? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/253027215824?_trksid=p11021.c100851.m5053&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIM.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20170803121420%26meid%3D00a13fc080b04bc7a0297f89970b1a0e%26pid%3D100851%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D4%26b%3D1%26sd%3D192902215188%26itm%3D253027215824&ul_noapp=true
  17. Did Dean Goods Class 2301 operate in West Wales in the 1950s, i.e. on the Carmarthen to Aberystwyth line, including on the Newcastle Emlyn and Aberayron branch lines? Were any Dean Goods ever shedded at Carmarthen in this period?
  18. Are there any photos of the Bala branch in any of the Bradford Barton railway book series? i.e. (More) Great Western Steam in Wales and the Border Counties or any of the branch line books?
  19. Does anyone have a copy of this book? Is it mainly photos of Cornwall and Devon or is it Sussex and Kent? I can't find any details of which particular part of the Southern Region it covers.
  20. Has anyone purchased this book yet? I presume Crecy have it in stock now but still not on Amazon.
  21. Does anyone have the latest wagon book by David Larkin, and if so does anyone have any comments on it? I personally find all his book a very interesting read.
  22. I know that Ore carriage shed closed in 1986, coinciding with the electrification of the Hastings line. When the 4-CEPs took over services on the Hastings to Charing Cross service did they continue onto Ore or did they terminate at Hastings? I don't recall seeing at 4-CEPs being serviced at St Leonard’s West Marina depot either. Ore station doesn't appear to have been well photographed and I have never seen one showing a 4-CEP at Ore. Also, Kentrail.org.uk states that goods traffic ceased to be handled at Ore from 1st May 1973. What traffic would have been seen at Ore in those last few years? Just household coal or was there any inbound/outbound general merchandise in Vanfits? Would they have been delivered via a Class 73 or Class 33?
