  1. Its all set out here: http://www.kernowmodelrailcentre.com/page/80/wr_suburban_dmu
  2. Fascinating to see that even as small a Goods Yard Depot as Lairg is part of the National Carriers Ltd system.
  3. There was a pretty poor Dapol version which you can still get but Bachmann are bringing out 39-528 Ex-Southern CCT Covered Carriage Truck BR Blue soonish...
  4. Many thanks for the link. Hadn't heard of that 'Vintage Road Scene' magazine before - does it often feature articles that are rail related? Can anyone suggest any other good articles worth reading?
  5. Rivercider Did any freight services ever reach Severn Beach station? These photos seem to show some Vanfits and VDA / COV VB lined up in the platforms - what would they have been carrying do you think: https://www.flickr.com/photos/johnmightycat/5544096642 https://www.flickr.com/photos/16376452@N03/7356862040 https://www.flickr.com/photos/70023venus2009/8136137479 https://www.flickr.com/photos/74009/4781945741
  6. It captures the remoteness of the Scottish Highliands perfectly but I would love to see a Highland Omnibus and a van unloading the post and mail to go to some other Highland destination that doesn't have a railhead plus some Hurley platform barrows on the platform! However, it probably proves that less is more as you could go for a couple of hours in these sorts of places without seeing a soul.
  7. There are a couple on here: http://paulbartlett.zenfolio.com/lmsparcels/h157ec466#h16bb1e3
  8. This appears to be an LMS coach in blue/grey http://www.flickr.com/photos/110691393@N07/12178224643/in/set-72157638438054524
  9. Still not decided if you are going to model Seaford in P4 then Colin? Don't forget all those SR PMV/CCT's with the Seaford destination chalk marks! Glad to hear you are feeling better.
  10. A Hawksworth BG in the background in BR Blue livery at Exeter St Davids on 29th May 1971. http://www.flickr.com/photos/68861278@N03/8405197346/in/set-72157628064899044
  11. Not a parcel train as such but there appears to be an ex LNER Gresley BG in BR Blue livery in this formation - a Class 52 Western D1052 with the Penzance to Cardiff service on the 4th of May 1971 http://www.flickr.com/photos/96859208@N07/9709824727/sizes/o/
  12. Presumably it is daft to suggest any Mk1 coaches in Blue and Grey may have had the roundels painted on?
  13. Cheers, it is WR maroon coaches I am interested in. If anyone knows of any photos then please let me know.
  14. How common were British Railways Coach Roundels on Maroon MK1 stock? I see that most of Bachmann's range don't include them but a few do. Would British Railways Coach Roundels on Maroon MK1 stock been more typical at the beginning of their reign, i.e. early 1960's, or more common towards the end, i.e. late 1960s, shortly before they were painted blue and grey?
  15. Thanks. So is this correct? It's not entirely obviously. Is there even such a thing as a 1st/3rd brake? R4411 Brake 3rd - TBSO R4410 Coridor 3rd = TK R4412 Composite = CK R4413 1st/3rd Brake = BS R4409 Full Brake = BG
  16. Can someone please set out the codes for the following Hornby Hawksworth coaches, i.e. BG, BCK, etc R4411 Brake 3rd R4410 Coridor 3rd R4412 Composite R4413 1st/3rd Brake R4409 Full Brake - BG
  17. What type of Hawksworth coaches would have been seen behind a Class 22 on the Cornwall branches services? A corridor third? A composite, 1st/3rd brake?
  18. I'm sure this is correct but they did travel far and wide before this. David Larkin has photos of them at Penzance in 1970 (S258S) and Lancaster in 1972 (S360S).
  19. Cheers Rivercider, do you know what that brick building immediately next to the cement silo is?
  20. With regards to the cement terminal at Exeter Central and Chacewater, I notice there are small brick buildings located adjacent to the main cement silos. Does anyone know if these are boiler houses or just simply an office or stores builidng?
  21. Don't think I've ever seen a picture of a loco at the Upper Beeding cement works - there is nothing on Flikr.
  22. I am researching Blue Circle Cement rail served depots in the 1970's. So far I am aware of the following: Chacewater, Cornwall Lawrence Hill, Bristol Exeter Central Barnstaple. Anyone suggest any others that I've missed out?
  23. David Larkin photographed a Siphon G no. W1321W at Carlisle in Spring 1975 so presumably this got to / or came from Scotland.
