  1. Very nice photos. George - what is the make and model of the flat bed lorry with the green cab in the goods yard? Do you have any Cravens DMUs in your fleet?
  2. There are plenty of ex SR vans on the TVP DVD (mostly plywood it seemed) so would be great if you can add a couple of these to the layout in time.
  3. Was the King's Lynn to Peterborough parcel working a daily or weekly service? Do you have Working Timetable for the area for this era?
  4. I've just watched the Branches Across East Anglia DVD and the trailing full brake is definitely an ex GWR Hawksworth one. Hornby do a great model of these. I do love the mix of green and blue 2-car DMUs on that DVD.

Phil Like what you've done to the layout. Can you shed any more light on the Morris J2 pick-up vehicle on your layout? see here - http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/108334-what-make-and-model-is-this-pick-up-vehicle/
  6. I take it there are no more up-to-date versions of the Morris J2 pick-up then? I presume the owner of the above vehicle must have repainted his in green - very nice.
  7. Can someone please tell me what make and model the vehicle circled is?
  8. What parcel stock are you running on the layout? On the basis of the article in Railway Modeller there appears to be an ex LNER Thompson BG Full Brake in Crimson livery. What else do you have? Do you have any parcel stock in blue? Some may just have received blue paint by 1967 I suppose.
  9. The advantage for Fenchurch St Peter of course being that you will be able to include pre-nationalisations designs of 12T vans as these lasted until circa 1971 - looking at your photos in the magazines though they are seem to be BR designs. Are you planning on adding some GWR, LNER, LMS, and SR 12T van designs in due course? After Rail Scotland, have you got any other exhibitions lined up?
  10. Great layout George, really enjoyed the article in Railway Modeller. I was always a big fan of Bedlam Heath and I am looking forward to seeing this layout in the flesh sometime (glad you've got another goods yard that receives consignments of fertiliser in 12T vans!)
  11. Great layout, has it featured in Railway Modeller or another magazine?
  12. Are there any good books on the North Cornwall Railway not mentioned above (other than the Irwell Press Illustrated History)?
  13. I have quite a few books on the Withered Arm but was wondering if anyone recommends any of the following: The Withered Arm: The Southern West of Exeter (Railway World Special) Paperback – 22 Sep 1988 by P. Semmens (Author), Ian Allan Publishing, ISBN-10: 0711018065 The Steaming Sixties: Days That Were - The Withered Arm in Cornwall No. 4 Hardcover – Sep 2009 by Peter Coster, Irwell Press (Sept. 2009), ISBN-10: 1906919097 Southern West of Salisbury Hardcover – 12 Nov 1984 by Terry Gough, Littlehampton Book Services Ltd; ISBN-10: 0860933415 Southern Holiday Lines in North Cornwall and West Devon Paperback – 30 Oct 1995 by Alan Bennett, Runpast Publishing, ISBN-10: 1870754352 Steam Colour Portfolio, Vol. 1: Southern & Western Lines Hardcover – Aug 2004 by Keith R. 14. Bachmann said there were plenty of variants they could do, including the plywood versions, when they first announced them in 2012. So the answer is probably yes but don't expect it for a couple of years at least!
  15. Bachmann Ex-Southern PMV in Green (39-527) - S1101S - PMV - Even Planking S1054S - S1153S S1251S - S1358S S1921S - S1970S Bachmann Ex-Southern ‘Covcar’ (39-528) - S1733 - CCT - Uneven Planking S1731S - S1780S
  16. Cheers. What about Precision Labels / Fox Transfers / Model Master / Railtec? Do they do any?
  17. In my view the headcodes that comes with the Bachmann model are not the best - can anyone recommend any better ones?
  18. A 6-wheel milk tanker in St Ivel livery would be great.
  19. Does anyone know what has happened to Rob since he went away on holiday? I can't seem to get hold of him at all. Is is still providing his painting service?
  20. You are absolutely correct - just wanting to see who was awake at this time. Warship Class 43 no. 855 Triumph was seen at Hayle Wharves on 13 August 1971 so I think this one would be a good one to chose.
  21. My preference is to renumber the BR Blue version to D810 Cockade
  22. Thanks for the reply - I mean which locos would be suitable. I too prefer Fox Transfers. You've ruled out 862 but what numbers is the Bachmann variation suitable for?
  23. Which numbers are suitable for use on the BR Blue model for those of use who intend to renumber, which would be prototypical for this particular version?
  24. Does anyone know the Hornby product codes for the grey one in the middle with the British Rail logo? The white one on the right is R633 I believe.
  25. Thanks for the helpful information. Do you know the numbers of any other ex SR CCT vehicles which were converted to a PMV?
