  1. well chaps I been at it again today and gone back to the Mk2 tender drive we had a good look at it thisafternoon pulled it apart and fitted a new brass cog! and she works a treat so have now not had to repaint anything! so new pics comming up! cheers for the comments!
  2. great clip andy! "jolly Good!"
  3. well had a very good weathering session in the painting shed this afternoon! so thought all was going well and said right i`ll put the 9f to ones side and go and paint some toysoldiers for an order ive got to do then I will put me numbers on the 9f! well got it all ready and decided to do a test run after weathering! and yes it ran sort of! so sorted the bent valve gear thought great then the tender drive exploeded gears off etc! so went back to triang tender drive MK1 version runs ok with this so now got to either find a way to rebuild the mk2 later tender drive unit or use the trusty Mk1 triang one! oh the fun of thinking this will be a quick fun job to do! so took a couple of pics! and a quick tip before you spray weathering around the chassis put a spot of oil on the slide bars and conections etc on a small amouint is needed that way it helps not to gum it up! anyway here`s a couple of pics and sorry for the typing but its nearly 1am in the morning! cheers ian
  4. hi guys thanks for the comments! dave im unsure currently as ive got early BR logo in stock but all my ref has been of later ones so will have too see not done it all yet so I`ll supprise peeps! thanks for the kind comments scots! its been back to the shed for more work earlier today but not took pics yet more news to follow later in the week! captain thanks again! yes as ever its the 8f on one of the masters kits!the man who has the dark art of resin casting down to a fine craft! aka chris at "Golden Arrow" we would be lost without him! although this takes alot of figuring out this kit although it looks easy but when you have to scratch build alot of bits from nothing its abit more work than doing a crosti 9f! but got somewhere near i hope??, will try and do better on the next one! although next up for southern will be the southern 08 which I hope will be alot less stress!!! cheers all regards ian.
  5. well folks had a small amount of time to do some weathering when i was up the shed earlier this afternoon, so the z class is getting the basic tones put on as ive not got alot of transfers to put on its getting alot of work done up front! Iknow this may seem odd but its going the right way for the mo. anyway just took a couple of pics tonight in the kitchen so excuse the honey jar! anyway enjoy!"

    Time?

hi nick seems to be the same here alot of people look but leave very little in the way of thanks or well done, there is a few people who have a huge following and get comments all the time but im unsure if people look at the blogs or and just go to the main forum section! anyway as tony wright says happy modelling! cheers ian
  8. well just had a bit of time this evening to paint me wheels! and sort a few areas I that needed re doning with black paint! so hopefully it will be weathering time at some point on sunday! anyway took a couple of pics. cheers:D
  9. looking good again redgate! got Hornby mag today and have seen summit in so will havea read on saturday! cheers ian.
  10. it depends on weather you get a good one or not!(chris has been having issues with the mold so it maybe redone at some point!) this one is a repair job that I had off chris I would say that if you don`t mind a bit off drilling and superglue work then a good few hours will see you with something like the ones ive made see old rm web for more info,if you want this one maybe for sale soon! but its the only safe way to make a crosti thats not going to brake the bank ie djh loco is great but expensive! and not everyone can do metal kits most people can build a resin one providing you take your time and do not rush its not a race! ive built 3 in 18 months! two were for a couple of customers and this one that im doing I also have another part done! which is part scratch built and part resin! so go on give it a go you neveer know! thanks for the interest! lots more news to come soon!B) cheers ian.
  11. again while I had the paint to hand this afternoon I did some basic block coats on the 9f it needs alot more work to get fully covered but had to stop due to a rain shower so decided to put it in the drying area and take a quick pic! more updates to follow on this soon! cheers:)
  12. well just had a hour spare this afternoon in between painting regiments of toysoldiers for customers so I got a bit done on the Z class!! sprayed it up in first 2 coats of black! a little repair to do as a lamp iron came off but will sort that later it will look alot better weathered to. anyway took a feww pics:D well there you go this needs more work hopefully will get some done over the next couple of days! it may also be for sale soon! so if anyone feels the need for a Z class let me know. cheers ian;)
  13. classic work there as ever redgate! like the vid! its easier using the turntable rather than trying to run the train and video at the same time:blink: but we are itching to see the rest of it! and ive been busy to so have posted new pics up of my other rebuilt crosti still wip & the z class! so im getting something done! cheers ian.
  14. cheers its getting there!
  15. well folks its been another busy weekend so running behinde on railway stuff but today got time to sort out a bit of priming on the z class its only had a couple of flash coats asive been doing this in between the rain showers and sorting a load of toysoldiers! anyway still alot of tidying up to do before it hits the paint it will get another rubdown and re do on primer then into matt black! anyway took a couple of pics its not attached to the chassis it was just a quick shot from the dryer! anyway enjoy!
  16. thats great news! good to sumit in the press it needs to be shown off! im hoping that the gas works micro layout that me & dad arfe working on will be sorted soon! main bits done trackwork down buildings are all scaledale we have just got to get some scenic work sorted and get alot of weathering done and sort out a bigger fiddle yard ! when time permits! anyway will catch up later. regards ian.
  17. update from last nights bashing!
  18. well as ever redgate its when you get time! i finished at about 1.30am this morning fiddling with the z class im building at the moment hence why im behinde with packing orders up today as im peeped! sorry going into thomas speak there but im sure you get the idea without me using rude words! but will be watching! will this build make it into the mag again??? anyway keep up the good work as always. cheers ian.
  19. just spent a couple of hours making lamp brakets its been driving me mad but got a few done they are not perfect but give the right idea so will blast a pic up at some point once its light! as its 1.am gmt I think its to dark! and im not going to get the lamp down. so you will have to wait. cheers ian.
  20. looking good there redgate this is one ive been waitting for you to do for a while! so I think you will have a que of people watching this to see how it works out! cheers ian
  21. yes its a compromise on the 8f chassis which i was not happy with but don`t have the time to do one as id like at the moment so this is a dry run I may consider doing the DMR kit at some point but its not very likely at the moment but also was tempted with the w class but its going to be the shunter next in its southern style as its hopefully a lot quicker than waitting for one to come from Bachmann in RTR and its a bit different from the standard 08! thanks for the comments I hope to have some paint on it soon! cheers ian.
  22. well more bits have gone on the z class over the last few days its got more winky bits than a 9f! so im only going so far with this one as I want to get it in paint this weekend and im without the other bits so it going to have to do for now! anyway took a couple of pics! more update to follow shortly!
  23. well just a quick update after fitting a new step to the tank and a box on the running plate and fitting some cab hand rails we are starting to get there! anyway took a quick paick on my desk this afternoon! cheers ian.
