  5. well as i said in my other post I have been bashing an em2 woodhead loco! well its been one of those models were you do things different fromthe destructions and end up making a whole lot more work for yourself! so still sorting out the chassis although this is now again running after redoing the pickups! this is a lima based one and im now sorting out the conection bolt and underframe this is now fitting but needs a bit of adjustment to fit square ish! well its as best as im going to get with a resin body! and have just drilled out the windows so just got to fine tune them add back in the frame that i cut out of one and a bit of milliput and hopefully were well on the way! so just took a couple of pics here you go! cheers ian.

  10. hi folks currently at the moment its just getting a build together and working out the easy route on this one so it will most likely be a single motor unit set up and a dummy in the other. just a quick thanks to captain kernow in the recent past he sent me a coopy of the kitmaster garratt instructions! cheers!! and another thanks today to Horsetan for the pdf on the fowler 2-6-4! which has helped alot! so now its time to sort out some funds! so going to have a sell off on ebay of some bits me thinks! thanks again to everyone who`s commented it all helps cheers ian. more updates soon!

  12. thanks for the info guys again im still not sure yet which way this builds going to go was looking at it late last night but as yet ive not purchased any chassis bits so any information or tips from other people who have built one or have looked at one would be a help. I have seen one built using a Bachmann n class chassis too! although its more likely to be the fowler chassis that will get used but again im open to ideas im realy looking for an rtr solution as times against me on this as im getting rather busy with alot of full size modelling on our classic buses! see my you tube link in the 9f posts for further railway update & a load of bus stuff to. anyway thanks again guys for all the comment it helps! cheers ian.
  13. well folks I finaly got to looking at the garratt over the weekend although still no further forward yet with the chassis choice so I will soon start pulling it to bits and sorting it out with new detail on the body got to replace some of the plastic hand rails! well its a start and Ive took a few pics as well before work starts! so here ypu go! ]
  14. the loco was the new Hornby 9f! railroad version! I did all the conversion work/build and paint/weathering and all the extra bits! as for the boiler its a resin body from chris at golden arrow! aka brucethefish on the forum check out the small suppliers forum on the rmweb I will have a rebuilt version going for sale soon but this is based on the older Hornby chassis and is tender drive. anyway hope thats of some help, please bear in mind you will have to suply all fittings if you get a body from chris as he only sell the resin body to you see my eairler pic or look at redgates blog! you have to add handrails pipes & steps vac pipe & saftey valves etc and you will need the correct tender again chris now produces a resin replacement. hope thats of some help if you weant to see other peoples build of crosti 9fs go and see redgates blog like me he`s been doing a few recently must be something about us that live in the nottinghamshire area! its that 9f thing!!! cheers ian.
  15. some of you may not have seen this one although it is on my youtube video`s! anyway here`s the newer version of the Hornby 9f from the railroad range! with a resin crosti body on this one is done as a rebuilt version! so there you go an updated version! this ones now running on bills layout 92026 was a birkenhead loco!in its last few years my current one will be another birkenhead one 92020 but this currently has the older Hornby triang chassis! cheers ian.
  16. Hi Ian it was one with a broken rear foot plate! so had the fun of fixing it this afternoon! so its now all repacked up with bits of plastacard and super glue! and it had a broken cab roof! which again I have fixed but still needs alittle work! a quick note to phil mallard60022 you can fit it on the new loco drive 9f as I have made one do that recently! but so far ive only done that on the rebuilt version.
  17. well folks its been busy here again no news on the garrett yet as its sat in the box awaitting work! and the Z class is currently a chassis only while I wait for chris at golden arrow to work his magic dark art of casting! although ive been building or I should say repairing a rebuilt crosti 9f that i got from chris! anyway its nearly there so took a quick pic! more news soon. cheers all ian.

  19. Hi darren, thanks for that its about what I was thinking but I had seen else were of someone using a Bachmann n class!!! and have seen pics it looks ok but my thoughts are for some thing along the lines of either a fowler chassis or the crab, its not got to bang on I just want it to look ok,it will get covered in weathering anyway so that will help! again thanks for the info! cheers ian
