  1. nice loco! thats going to get a few of em going huff whats that! when they see it in action! if your feeling devilish but a a BR emblem on it! and see what they do then! cheers ian.
  2. sorry but not got any build pics as my dad sorted the chassis out its come too me for finishing and paint job with weathering, its a kitmaster loco kit with Hornby/triang 2-6-0 chassis under it but they do have to be chopped about alot to get them to fit its not an easy job to do and we only had limited ideas to start with as this is the first one we have done that runs we have two others which are static models. one of the others may get upgraded to either a Bachmann or later Hornby chassis but thats all in the future unless someone wants this one when its done! to help fund the others! we will have too see! regards ian.
  3. cheers guys thanks for the comments! and yes it runs well in both directions I was on camera duty and my dad was at the controls of the loco! as its bit difficult to do both controlling and recording at the same time! could not put it on the layout as we have it in bits again! so had too use a couple of lengths of track for the test run as it had been drying from painting! we have had a rake of 20 wagons so far behinde the garratt looks the part! thanks again for all the comments! regards ian.
  4. glad you like it so far! bit more to be done yet but getting there hopefully will not take too much more to finish off and weather it up!
  5. looking very good! its suprising what a little paint can change things into! great work looking forward to see more!
  6. well folks its along time since I posted on my rm blog as been very busy doing lots of other things but just been able to make aquick update vid on the garratt project which was started last year! this is still a working project although please note its not a finescale model ! as this was done out of triang and later Hornby components as a test build to see how we could motorise the kitmaster model! so here is a quick vid ive done today its not long but you get the idea! thanks to all those who helped before. more news to follow shortly once ive got a little further if the weather stays ok I may get round to more painting with the airbrush! anyway cheers all regards ian.
  7. go on do it at least you will know its there!
  8. well done redgate! looking realy good there! looks a bit like a rebuilt crosti without the defectors on! which is another hint that im doing soon another rebuilt crosti but not with normal tender so will have some pics of that soon! anyway good luck with the rest of the build can`t wait to see it in paint! cheers ian.

  13. well folks its been warm so recently had a bit of time spraying again so thought id play with the spare garratt! as we have now collected a number of them so thought id have a practice at weathering one as we are currently building one up to run properly with a triang chassis setup im also looking for the railway modeller articul with it in if anyone knows the issue number and year & month drop us a comment or PM me with further details or if you have a copy spare again let me know. we will be doing a later build using modern chassis at a later point, but as the triang ivatt chassis were found spare it was an ideal way of using them up! so will update on that one with pics once we have done abit more on it. but here`s the weathered one so far! hope you like :Dcheers ian.
  14. top class work there Ithink your onto another winner with that! cheers ian

  17. hi james glad you liked it! yes maybe so ive seen tim do the very same with some of his weathering onthe dvd but one thing im sure of is you got to keep them joints as clean as possible or fill them with oil other wise the whole think locks up! or as tims says on his weathering dvd gums it up! been there & done it to many times! it may also look stark as the photo is not in natral light! it brings out more colour tones im leaving this one as it is if it gets a new home then it will stay that way if it stays here with me then I may do some fiddling. cheers ian:D
