  1. Hi, Does anybody know the ral or pantone paint codes or a good paint match for the northern rail class 150 lilac paint with the angular upsweeps before they painted them in the current curved northern rail livery? The livery im talking about is still on the class 155 dmu,s. Phoenix precision do a first group lilac paint as used on first buses livery since 2012 to present but im not sure if this would look right.
  2. I would bet it would go for a lot more fully finished with the fox transfers,
  3. Nice 14 car Hornby apt-p conversion on ebay at the moment.
  4. Say for example the Bachmann class 150 2 car retooled unit will sell for around £150,in a different livery course they will sell.it was around £69.00 when first available of course its more than doubled in price but people will still buy it. another example Hornby class 142 price in 1987 around £27.50 most recent price touching £100 northern rail livery. We have not yet had the luxury of many premium spec models in the uk yet. I do think people would switch suppliers. Have a good think about ALDI,S recent strong tv adverts switch your supermarket and save upto 50%, people are sick of being ripped off by mainstream corporate companies, same old story Tesco cheaper asda 10% cheaper ect, Asda rollback one week £11.00 then £12.00 then up to £15.00, then lots all advertising things at 49 pence.. I really hope rapido trains will put the boot up the other two.
  5. They could do it as a 5 car pack like Hornby did, requiring 3 tools, then an additional tool for the intermediate coaches and maybe modify the extra tool with a plug in part to do the blanked window bay of the buffet car. That way you would only need to buy another power car and the intermediate coaches separately.
  6. Forgot to mention class 310 and class 312.
  7. It would be nice if we could get a full rake apt-p and prototype hst to go with the apt-e. And also some first generation ac electrics class 81,82,83,84 and some first generation ac units class 303-309.
  8. Yes,we do need an apt-p to go with this.
  9. A new version of the apt-p with additional coaches in order to make it the prototypical 14 car unit would be great alongside this.
  10. Look at the Dapol n gauge 153,this looks totally wrong on its side and front end views, same goes for its 156 dmu,and its class 86. how hard is it to get its northern rail purple used on its class 153 and 156 near to prototype colours. Railtrack did it right so how can a mass producer of rtr models get things so wrong. remember the very old Dapol class 150/2 and class 155 they were supposed to be based around the old mtk kits.
  11. Have you all noticed the class 142,153,156 and the very old and poor Dapol ex tooling class 155 has not been available from Hornby for some time in some cases many years, except the class 153 Anglia version they are doing. the Heljan class 86 was totally wrong if they got that right im sure it would of been very profitable for them. eg minor retool to class 87. Bachmann class 150 wrong again with the full motor enclosure but being retooled, going up very expensive but not totally corrected. Hornby 153 possible wrong roof profile and lower bodyside tumblehome. and again the class 82 west coast dvt Hornby probably perfect except the ic light gey paint shade.
  12. lets face facts, Hornby haven't been looking after us modern image modellers for many years now, old retooled ex lima mouldings dating back over 20 years and more, very expensive prices ect, Bachmann are only very slightly ahead but with very long lead times and again very expensive prices. modern image modellers need. ac emu,s rtr. class 302-class 325 all refurbished and unrefurbished variants all liveries. dmu,s class 141-class 156 all variants. desiro emu,s and dmu,s ect. eg class 185. ac electric class 81-84 class 86-91 all liveries and variants. I think we must all be getting bored of diesel and coach models being duplicated. if this apt-e gets to tooling and production I hope this is a starting point in them tackling the huge gap in modern image modelling we have been suffering for far too long. why should anyone pay circa £100 for a Hornby class 142 with no working lights that was tooled up in 1987,same goes for the Hornby ex lima class 156 tooled up a bit later. 1987 price class 142 around £27.50 class 156 lima a bit later £37.50.
  13. apt-p would be good as a future release 5 car pack with all the additional coaches as extras.
  14. if they are not so rare have you seen them ever before on ebay?
  15. hi shane, are you going to be selling the apt etches in future?.
  16. it would be nice if they could do some more dmu,s and emu,s first and second generation to the same spec as the class 143,144. im sure that would give the mainstream manufacturers of rtr products something to think and worry about.
  17. this one was a rare thing,im sorry now I didn't buy a few sets.
  18. Hi, Does anybody know where I can get some accurate 4mm scale drawings for a class 323 emu? Or where I could get some etches for a class 323,I know David Bentley of west coast miniatures bought the etches that we're for the transcale class 323 that never happened, but I can't get hold of him,as his site west coast miniatures is no longer updated since he returned to full time work, and his forum 25kv modellers has now closed down. Thanks regards Andy.
