  1. Some firm's in the uk can do 3d printing with a quality just as good as Shapeways, it is called High definition acrylic.
  2. I think it will pan out like this. Realtrack new secret dmu class 142, 1 bodyshell needed they have the chassis already, the electronics, interior lighting and some of the correct seats. Realtrack on its own class 142, or Realtrack working with Rapido class 156, low floor mounted drive, gives the game away to me. Rapido new secret dmu class 156 and or maybe Class 175, I bet it will be the 156 though, only one bodyshell needed, two shell's needed if class 175 for 3 car version. Bachmann class 323 emu in 00 gauge 2 bodyshells needed. Then Revolution trains might scale up its class 320/321 to 00 gauge. If Bachmann gets in first and scales up the 319 to 00, whichever one does it first will be able to produce all of the 20 metre length mk3 based emu .
  3. I do not understand the need for all this being kept top secret, it is not as though Realtrack will announce a class 142 or class 156, then Hornby will announce a new class 142 or class 156, it would make no commercial sense to duplicate something that has been announced. For example I have heard from many reliable sources that Bachmann have been working on a modern generation emu for quite a few years now in oo gauge, that has not been announced yet, and it is not a mk3 based emu. Certain people get told thing's, that are being worked on behind the scenes from other manufacturer's. Certain people knew Bachmann had been working on a mk3 based emu for a number of years, then it gets announced the class 319 in n gauge.
  4. I think it is going to be one of the above, but more likely to be a 142, as they already have the chassis.
  5. Norman Wisenden, died in 1997, established 1957, Arcadia opened around 1997, Norman Wisendens shop was sold to new owners, either when he was dying of cancer or had already passed away , who then run the shop for a bit, then they sold the original shop and moved into a mill in Mossley. He died in 2007.
  6. My point is, two model shops in Oldham, both sell more or less the same things, so you can buy paints, glue ect from either, but one charges full list price for everything they sell, the other matches or beats box shifter prices. I would shop at the one who matches or beats box shifter prices, im not willing to pay around £30 difference at full list price, when I can get it that much cheaper in the same town That is why Norman Wisenden had loads of old Hornby stock in faded boxes that had never shifted as his prices were too high, his shop rarely had many customers in when I went. Arcadia is usually busy and full of customers, and his phone is ringing a lot, with people taking telephone orders. It is like saying this, there are two main Ford dealers in the same town and I want a brand new Mondeo, dealer charges £23,000 full list price, but the other dealer in town charges £19,000 discounted price for the same spec car, either can do the same servicing, but I am not putting £4 grand excess profit to make the 1st dealer richer when I can get the same new car for less money, the difference in price is better in my pocket than theirs.
  7. The thing is though, you could for example pay around £30 more for a unit from Norman Wisenden , than it would cost at Arcadia in the same town.
  8. I meant to say, "Theirs no point in paying more for something you can get for less.
  9. It is like saying a multipack of Winalot dog food can's is £8.00 at Asda , but at Morrisons it's £13.00 and both supermarkets are near each other, I know where I would go to buy it from. People shop around these day's for the lowest price, it is easy to do a Google search. I always remember a saying by a sales manager I knew "THEIR'S NO POINT IN PAYING FOR SOMETHING YOU CAN GET FOR LESS"
  10. Why should you pay full list price's from local model shop's , rather than buy at discounted price's from a so called box shifter?, the shop I use Arcadia in Shaw, Oldham has always matched or beaten box shifter prices and he has been doing this and still going around 18 year's or more now. I usually buy from him despite now living in Manchester, I can inspect the product before buying it, but it is a 14 mile round trip, so what it might cost me in petrol would probably cost the same as postage and packing from a box shifter. There was another shop in Greenfield Oldham ,Norman Wisenden he always charged full list price or more for models, hence why he had loads of faded boxes of old Hornby in his cabinet's that had never shifted. So any local model shop should either do the same as Arcadia in Shaw or lose custom to the box shifters.
  11. Nothing has been posted about this for a long time.
  12. I think it will be the controller not having enough amps, would imagine it to be impossible to have 2 dcc sound duff sets.
  13. It is the little square grey controller from a Farish dmu set.
  14. Just the red lights, no sound no movement, I am trying two pc-1 from two sound fitted packs, both are the same, so it must be a faulty controller or im unlucky.
  15. I am trying to test the sound on my two dcc sound apt-e, but I don't have a layout, just a bit of track and a normal Bachmann controller, I have put pc-1 on the track by itself, but only the red lights come on, nothing else does, is pc-1 the one with the sound fitted, and should it be working on its own?.
  16. I think they will eventually do the APT-P, as they were photographed sat in it, plus it still exists so can be 3d scanned.
  17. We do need a new APT-P model, Rapido, to replace the Hornby toy.
  18. I have no need to wait or hope, as I have no interest in buying one in that livery !, so I assume you have spent hundred's or a few thousand pound's, for paint mask's and tampo printing pad's for that particular livery, never to be used again. Don't forget people can buy item's that have been stored since the original purchase, from Ebay or other site's, that are in as new condition, I admit sometimes they might be slightly more expensive, but bargains can be had too on auction site's. Do not forget that although you might claim stock is at a critical level, they will still pop up on Ebay and other sites, long after you have totally sold out of them.
  19. It is ok to say , stock is at a critical point so order now or you wont get another chance to buy one, they will simply do a re-run of that livery perhaps with a renumber.
  20. I think it will be a class 142, 156, or class 175, 142 being most likely.
  21. I never knew the APT-P has a raised centre panel on the roof of its trailer coaches, just noticed on this drone footage of Crewe heritage centre. Drone look at Crewe heritage centre and railway on youtube.
  22. When Realtrack did the class 144 and class 143 in conjunction with Rapido, they did not ask for anything as an upfront deposit, I can see why asking for a 50% deposit upfront would put people off, why can't you use the money you have received from the pendolino in upfront deposit's and future balance payment's to tool up the class 320/321?.
  23. Class 185 look's really nice, shame it cant be done in oo gauge.
  24. They will make more APT-E models, they are not going to waste all that expensive tooling for just 2000 models and never use the tooling again.
