  1. I think Rapido will do several more re-runs of the APT-E, they probably wont leave all that expensive new tooling, never to be used ever again, and they know people will buy them too, I bought one sound and one dcc only, then I phoned Sandra a few weeks ago, and 2 sound fitted were left over, I bought that one and Lee's loco bought the very last one after me.
  2. Lot's of people seem to be thinking the rail blue look's too green.
  3. Rapido are selling airbrush ready acrylic proto paint in the us, starting with 47 colours, hopefully they will start to sell uk spec colours very soon, to compete with Railmatch and Phoenix Precision, hopefully we can get some paint colours that have never been done by the latter two.
  4. I cant see any cabside windows on your class 185, would of been better with them added.
  5. Yes you can get the silver reflective film too.
  6. Re, the tinted windows on Tc2, you can buy tinted self adhesive vinyl film on ebay very cheaply, it comes in various tint's , brown, smoke grey and silver, the brown and smoke tints are very good for using on coaches or units, you can see through it also.
  7. I do remember the Hornby mk3 dvt was just a repainted mk4 dvt in virgin livery, it was supposed to be a newly designed mk3 version, when it was released, I think it was dropped as rail express announced a mk3 dvt in oo scale was being tooled up for them by Dapol, that never happened, so Hornby did the mk3 new tool dvt with dcc and light's, the intercity version uses the virgin front grille, and the intercity light grey was too dark, they seem hard to get hold of in this livery. Hurst model's did a fairly accurate mk3 dvt in resin, Bratchell models did one too, with transfers.
  8. It would be good, if someone did a 00 scale 3d printed accurate class 81,82,83,84 and then had the shell's cast in resin, I know we had these from the Apple green models, but they are extremely poor for today's standard's.
  9. Is it safe to test the sound with a dc only controller, and which power car is the sound located in?
  10. I received one of my APT-E models yesterday, I love it, the packaging is equally impressive. I have noticed quite a few people are scraping and scratching the models paintwork, perhaps Rapido should provide a pantone or ral paint reference code for the silver and blue paint to assist those who have scratched the models paintwork.
  11. My two APT-E models have not arrived yet, to take a close look at, but I have noticed on all the photo's so far the separate nose cone moulding looks larger where it joins onto the front of the train, just underneath the windscreen, its although its nosecone has been moulded slightly larger creating a step, or as though its stuck on slightly higher up, I noticed this on the test moulding photo's that it looked larger. On the real thing its flush down the sides where it joins up, also on the real one it has black frames around the headlights, with a red and clear light lens clearly visible, even with its lights off. I am not being critical here, but the lights do look very basic on the model compared to the real one, just two holes on the model, covered by clear plastic, with a silver frame as part of the nose cone moulding. The lights on the model remind me of the ones on the Hornby APT-P if you push the clear light covers out, ie just a hole, covered by a clear plastic insert. Has anyone noticed these two things? Again I am not being critical here, but these two things don't look quite right to me.
  12. I agree with the above post, if someone wants to sell one on Ebay, it is up to them, instead of people on here constantly moaning about it.
  13. The issue with the resin mould's is nothing to do with shrinkage, it is that this was clearly copied from the old mtk kit,the cab is exactly the same as the old mtk one, it would not of cost an absolute fortune to get one properly designed from scratch. Here is pics of the one Amsie did around 2007, that never got produced as a kit, but was 3d printed.
  14. Thanks mr tilt, it is the hk brake hoses I was asking about.
  15. When is this new Realtrack dmu going to be announced ?, it seems to of been going on for ages now.
  16. I have noticed on the earlier model photos, they had silver separate pipes on the bogies, but on the most recent pics they are blue like bogie frame, on the real train where they silver or blue?
  17. Dogs heads tilting, wondering what the sounds are.
  18. Wonder if someone will do the APT pic as a transfer to put on the white painted headrest covers on the seats, cant wait for my two to arrive, hopefully wont be long, one dcc, and one dcc sound, I think my 2 boxer dogs will also start tilting from side to side when they hear the sounds.
  19. He will have to pay Ebay 10% of its final selling price plus I think its around 4% to paypal, so even if it sells, he has them fees to contend with.
  20. Jason, come on we want the APT-P doing now, to follow on from the APT-E and HST prototype, would make a nice trio.
  21. I hope they will do the APT-P at some point as the Hornby one looks very toy like.
