  1. Thanks. I was just hunting the internet and reached that same conclusion. Seems like 18th December 'free airfreight' delivery for all. This is awkward - as in wife is not going to be happy, but .... heh ho !! Al.
  2. Is the 18th December delivery date the PRIORITY delivery or 'normal'? Al.
  3. Sounds like the Hattons 66 is going to be after Christmas as well now ... Al.
  4. Thanks for keeping this thread alive - just reminded me - I received some 8- and 21-pin blanking plates this last week and have now removed the DCC chip and inserted and tested with the blanking plate - works perfectly now. Al.
  5. Same with the Duchesses / Coronations! I suppose there's some performance gain in the 'breathing', but loss in exhaust velocity - hence why all - except A4's have blinkers! You can see the difference in the Coronations cf the 'Lizzie's'. Back to A2 - the time LNER got it right (as with quite a few! - quite a compliment from me, more a LMS fan)! Al.
  6. 73 just looks wrong when the 86 looks right. Fan of their longevity and usefulness, but hardly a swan! Al.
  7. Must admit, the pricing is quite fair. I've tried converting to Mashima in the past, and have found their motors excellent, but at least £20, before postage. If the postage is a major contributor, I would consider which other parts may be required - cradle, gears, etc - and add them 'to the list'. Loco will be raring to go for another 10+ years!! Al.
  8. The easiest way is to contact Bachmann directly. I had an ex-LMS Jubilee which needed a motor, and Bachmann were able to supply without problem. They always seem to have adequate spares, inclusive of motors, cradles, idler gears. There are other motors which may suit, but it's one of those 'specialist art' things - slightly out and it'll never work. Al.
  9. 66's are everywhere, must admit, including a banker for Britannia / Iron Duke this last weekend!! 67's from what I'm seeing on 'media' seem no more frequent or popular than the much better looking, more interesting 68. Someone's termed the phrase 'modern Deltic', for the 68, which is perhaps early, but it does seem to have an extraordinary following. Al.
  10. Defo an O-Gauge 68 I reckon. Queue Accura and an O-Gauge TPE Mk.5 set. Al.
  11. I think he retired before he programmed a certain referendum .... !!! Then did a runner ... Al.
  12. What's David Cameron buying sheds for? Al.
  13. I 'lightly smoked' my Blue Peter, mainly across the top - looks so realistic it's fantastic. Really like this model - excellent effort by Bachmann on the A2's. Prefer them with the double chimney must admit. Al.
  14. Was there ever any PLANNED announcement when the original statement was posted, or was it just with a view to making an announcement based on the marketing requests by enthusiastic modellers within this thread, up to the 'appointed hour'? Just a thought!! Al.
  15. Very true, but was used to stop, not to spin the wheels in reverse I think - we are talking 10-11 weeks ago .... !! I think it seemed to stall the current feed. VERY obvious something wasn't quite right, hence my original query, also why I stopped, and subsequently opened it up and confirmed it is DCC. Al.
  16. Tell you what, that Hornby paint finish is excellent - detailing 1st class - didn't know they did Hardwicke!! I have actually been next to Hardwicke many years ago, possibly at Carnforth when it was open as a 'working museum' in the 70's. Al.
  17. Mine was on low power rating - let's say 35-40% throttle would be a 'smooth crawl' equivalent to 10-15 mph actual - this is doing 40+ mph ... !! Reminded me I still need to get that blanking plate! If yours does spool up, spin it's wheels, then that's REALLY realistic - just like the real powerhouse 1:1. Can't wait until it's fully rebuilt and harrassing farmers and sheep again - no, I didn't say Shep!! Al.
  18. Imagine how much THAT would weigh !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Al.
  19. Why not just make the baseboards stronger to support the extra weight? No hay que cambiar el idioma solamente para complicar la vida de otras personas, verdad? Al.
  20. Congratulations and well deserved in an increasingly competitive market!! Al.
  21. Great for a model, but don't forget, despite it's size, at 99 tons if I remember correctly, the Deltic was a relative lightweight!! There again, a quick 'Google' has the Class 68 at 85 tons! If Accurascale were to make a Class 40, or 44,45,46 Peak, what would that weigh in at? !! Al.
  22. Il a dit a peu pres sept cent soixante-dix grammes je crois. Al.
  23. Fair comment, but ... There is the 'country lane' option - only one or 2 vehicles, limited by environment - road size, width, twists, etc - and won't have much traffic on them - a possibility. There's the 'town centre gridlock' where there's no choice but to go the same speed - 0, 5, 0, 22, 5 mph !! There's the 'optimised 3-lane Motorway - 2 lanes at 75mph (sorry, 70 ...) and 60mph in 'Lane 1' for HGV's. I think it's doable!! Al.
  24. Fran, here's a bit of lateral thinking .... You're moving the 'game' on with your accuracy in the coaches, trucks, and locomotives proposed, in progress and already produced .... There are PLENTY of companies, including H and B producing scenery, but there's something MISSING .... which had been produced 40+ years ago ... Scale roads, cars, etc. ... There must be a huge potential for WORKING cars, trucks, vans, realistic roads .... even Motorways .... Just a thought. Al.
