  1. I had a similar conversation with them, as my 10th floor office is but a stone's throw away. Looking through their books of reference pics has prompted me to have a proper 'eyes open' mooch around lunchbreak the next time I'm in the office. I had a fun weekend driving Ravenscroft Sidings and catching up with friends :)
  2. I initially though H0 for Nové Město na Nedostatku, my Czech micro project (started about 5 years ago) but found that pretty much all the stock I wanted could be had in TT with the bonus of fitting more railway in the available space. I like TT - large enough to still get that detail modelling 'fix' but small enough to save space/fit more in the given space. And a lot of the cottage industy kits are still listed as available and relatively cheap - LPH and SDV plastic MU/coach/wagon kits, resin kits and etched/laser-cut detail from the likes of ES Pecky. Buying from the UK is now trickier, some suppliers aren't accepting new account or orders from here now :( Link to my layout thread in my sig, and/or pick-up this month's Continental Modeller for a nicely-illustrated write up ;)
  3. I made that mistake a few weeks back in updating the newer laptop and lost the custom materials I'd set up, plus 'pause' no longer works when cutting. As I'm running a Portrait 1 with manual blade, so need to change the blade depth between my score and cut runs, it's a right pita. I think/hope the old laptop is still running the older version while I await Silhouette's response to my query. Drew up and cut sides for BR electric Classes 81/82/83 for a friend yesterday, who's chopping up Bachmann 85s - a 30 thou inner + 20 thou outer with grilles scored in and windows cut out. Even 5 passes at max 10 blade/max 33 force won't cut right through 20 thou (never mind 30 thou!) Here's the 20 thou outer being cut - I had to manually pause as soon as I saw it'd finished the score run and adjust the blade.
  4. Reading Signal Works's next outing is to the Newbury exhibition on Sat 29th October https://newburymrc.co.uk/?page_id=42
  5. I found the 1/32 scratchbuild on the Britmodeller forum: https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/234972191-scratch-build-of-1951-pullman-carriage/ A couple of possibly usable drawings on there.
  6. Certainly doable - I've done Mk2d/e/f window sections on my Silhouette to insert into some ancient Lima H0 Mk2bs. Are decent drawings available?
  7. I have a set of the top row (in fact, I think I have 2 sets of those) - iirc they were Phoenix?

  9. All had been done by 1978, based on the RCTS CS book of that year. W1803 listed as 44 seat, dual-heat, B4 bogies in 1978. Hth
  10. No Man's Land - New Model Army
  11. The Globalrail outing went fairly well, my thanks to @Taigatrommeland Mark Begley for operating whilst I was running the exhibition. They'll be pleased to hear I have sorted the dodgy point since. (I just ran out of time in the lead up to the show) . I've finally had the time (again, post - Globalrail) to redo the backscene. Same image as before, a panoramic view of Nové Město pod Smrkem, but brightened up and correctly sized using the free Posteriza software. Another loco has joined the fleet, a 742 from MTB and I've been fitting couplings to the 810/010s at last. Next outing will be to Bracknell exhibition on the 30th October and the layout will hopefully be featured in the October 2022 issue of Continental Modeller.

  14. Reading Signal Works has a welcome outing to Beaconsfield exhibition on Saturday 2 July https://www.beaconsfieldmrc.org/annual-exhibition/ I've finally gotten around to adding in a photographic backscene (adapted from a spare print of the one used on my Czech TT micro!) and finished a few more wagons to add to the variety of the fleet.
