  1. Coming soon hopefully, hope to give an update when we have a firm date.
  2. For the O11s, the details vary between Lots and sometimes in the middle of Lots. As an example from the O11s, we've disregarded any running number from L732 as photos of wagons from that Lot show that them with transverse leaf sprung buffers, offset V-hangers and the earlier diagonal strapping with the 'hockey stick' bend at the base. Like this one: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:GWR_'OPEN_A'_No.10931_-_33581519598.jpg This doesn't match the version we are tooling, so am keen to avoid any clashes. Likewise some wagons have round rub strips, some have the door springs close together, etc. I only have one (!) period photo of an O15 in the reference folder, which is 30307 in 1947. Thankfully this does match the tooling.
  3. Got to wait until after CNY for the factory designers to make their amends :D
  4. Hi folks, We are putting together the running numbers and artwork designs for this project at the moment (concentrating on the open wagons first). For O11s (unfitted) we have a full set of running numbers which have corroborating photos (not always for livery but also for the build spec. of that wagon - rub strips, door springs, buffers, V-hanger location, horizontal straps, tie bars etc.) but O15 photos are very thin on the ground. I have a list of proposed running numbers, mostly from the batches listed in the Atkins/Tourret bible, and a couple of photos, but if anyone has photos of O15s they would be willing to share (or could point me in the direction of where to find) I would be very grateful. Either in this thread or by direct message. Many thanks
  5. I'm sure one of the clever CAD people can confirm or correct me, but this is because protruding faces on the inside of a box (in this case the wagon body) are difficult to do without a collapsible mould (which would add a significant tooling cost). Faces which stick out and then go straight 'down' are fine, as long as the space inside the wagon gets smaller and not bigger. Look closely at the planks - they are an illusion as they are in fact tiny 'steps'. The mould wouldn't be able to be extracted once the plastic had been injected otherwise. Kits which inject a single wagon side at a time can replicate this kind of detail with a two-face mould. For livery artwork - this is work in progress currently and have a couple of rounds of review left before it gets finalised. If there are any other livery notes please let us know so we can incorporate them into our notes. We do go through things carefully but feedback is always welcome in case something gets missed!
  6. An update on Hunslets (and Class 28s) - Analogue versions are ready for shipping while the DCC ones await investigation.
  7. £6.02 per wagon difference if you buy 9 of each, but that does involve spending over £200 in one go.
  8. Bear in mind the other two wagons pictured are production models rather than hand-painted samples :) I believe the final colour for the interior will be the same.
  9. I think it's less than £3 more than the MDV if bought through a retailer (e.g. RoS price is £27.95). Ah, go on....
  10. Order deadline will be the 6th Feb 2023 👈
  11. To clarify the tender - all the locos lost their toolboxes by LMS days and some (105, 110, 113, 116) had the tender tanks extended. Originally we drew up the 'what if' BR loco with an extended tender tank but this has since been amended as all the chosen examples had original length tanks.
  12. Oooh, would you be able to let me know where you found the photo Pteremy? Would be good to cross reference. For unlined maroon examples, I have seen W6456W with loco 5509 and an unidentified set in company with loco 4562 (and a further set at Bodmin with 4552), but I don't think I have W6372W in the reference folder.

  15. Yes they are, should hopefully be back to you within the next week.
  16. Yes, everything that hadn't yet been sent out was part of the recall.
  17. DYNO CAR UPDATE (reposting this from social media in case anyone has missed it). We have managed to replace the faulty PCBs in all of the dynamometer cars that have been sent to us, these will be sent back to customers over the next few days. International customers - we will be getting in touch imminently regarding the repairs. If you have a 2nd run dyno car that you haven't sent in yet, please fill in the recall form here: https://rapidotrains.co.uk/recall/
  18. Hard to say, obviously we'd love to make more but second runs always depend upon the success of the first and we don't want people to hold off buying the first run if they are waiting for the second 😄 So once the team get a chance to take a breather in the Spring we can look at the sales figures and make some estimations.
  19. Not to be confused with the Les Miserables Society who owned several similar wagons (none preserved as they all got used to make barricades).
  20. I have said it before but it is always worth saying again; we are incredibly grateful for the knowledge and assistance that people give us on RMWeb and elsewhere to help us improve what we make. We are all modellers too and want to be able to sell things that we would want to purchase.
  21. Drawing 46170 (fitted brakes) confirms the distance between the vac cylinder centre and the V hanger to be 18", so I am guessing it was also 18" on the earlier wagons with the offset V, but with the vac cylinder being mounted closer to the centre of the wagon. @Dunsignalling yes I imagine that having a single size of push rods etc. to keep in stock that would work for both fitted and unfitted wagons would have been appealing.
  22. Bear in mind that the RTUK site only shows what's in stock or available to pre-order at the moment. There may still be stock available via retailers.
  23. This is a real noodle-baker. I'll try and summarise what we have. John Lewis wrote an article in Great Western Journal in 2007 on GW 16ft Vans, which had this in a section on DC.III brakes: This matches with what we've been looking at, as there are several preserved V14s where the V is in the centre of the vehicle: 101720 at Didcot and 101961/103592 at the SVR are examples of this. In this photo it is below the central body support stanchion (which is shown as being dead-centre on drawing 78302). This is mid-restoration and hasn't had the vac cylinder refitted yet, it is down as a V14. This tallies with some of the works drawings we have for underframes where both the unfitted and fitted versions have the V marked as 'centre line of vehicle'. Here is a comparison to show just how offset the V was. Note that in these two pics, the van with the offset V has the slim buffers too. Unsure if there may have been a changeover year we can pin this down to, any ideas?
  24. The Toad/Loriot etc had to be made at about the same time to make sure they all coincided with the Titfield sets 😀
