  1. We took the opportunity to test our second Engineering Prototype of the GWR 15XX 0-6-0PT at Chatham Model Railway Club. We couldn't resist trying to see just how much it could pull.... With thanks to Chatham MRC for hosting us! Music used under licence.
  2. My request for an electromagenetically-operated working brake van got turned down :(
  3. Yes that's right, I am guessing they shot the plates for the back projection off one of the conflats they hired, which would mean all the coach interiors were shot later. Even the museum interior where the hearing is held, with the replica 'Thunderbolt' was shot on a soundstage!
  4. Well we had to leave something for the modeller.... Also remember that the coach is completely refitted in the hours before the inspection. Most of the inside furniture changes, the bed is gone, the sofa appears, even the lace curtains get swapped for the flower pattern ones! Haha nope - this is the challenge of trying to make 3D sense of something that never actually existed, just like the interior of the buffet car vs the exterior. The interior shots of Dans House from the soundstage shoot have the stove much further back to allow room for the cast to sit and stand (the camera in the interior shots is often looking through the invisible fourth wall). When the coach is being used for the exterior shots, you can see there's barely anything inside. I think they may even have moved the central roof panel to the back of the coach for the interior shoot.
  5. -Curtains -Crockery -Cups -Carpet -Couch -Clock -Candles -Chimney -Chairs Everything you need for Dan's House!
  6. Warning for headphone users, I got a bit carried away with the edit. Link: https://rapidotrains.co.uk/product/inspired-by-titfield-wagon-pack/
  7. It's currently in design stage, when the tooling variants are decided upon and finalised that will dictate running numbers and condition we are able to offer. Being from the West Country myself I am looking forward to it too, so hope to update when we have more details.
  8. Surely that wasn't the only clue 😄
  9. There is but you can only buy it if you have proof of a Section 5 firearms licence.* *This statement is not true
  10. There's a couple of other easter eggs on it too (not literal easter eggs lest anyone get the wrong idea)...
  11. @Erixtar1992did this rather good video showing the sample running on his layout:
  12. Hello everyone, great news! These wagons are now available to purchase in 52 livery/detail combinations. O11 and O15 5-plank open wagons: https://rapidotrains.co.uk/gwr-5-plank-open-o11-o15/ V14 and V16 vans: https://rapidotrains.co.uk/gwr-mink-a-v14-v16/
  13. Hi Ian, This does sound like a strange anomaly. Have you tried pinching the back of the tails with tweezers as in the video I sent? Are both the couplings on the wagon having the same issue? I've just tried the same thing on the 3 Rapido wagons I have here with me and all pulled out without difficulty.
  14. How do you mean? They should just pull straight out. None of the ones I've seen so far have had the couplings glued in. Otherwise there is the tweezer method where you use the tweezers to pinch the tails while holding the coupling, as here:
  15. I think it's worth bearing in mind that different companies might have different minimum order limits to make models worthwhile. No two are exactly the same and there may be other factors, such as the amount of financial risk they are willing to carry themselves (e.g. if funds get tied up in stock over a longer period). In my experience, companies rarely make production numbers public knowledge (with the obvious exception of limited editions), likewise for tooling or production costs. I'm sure I wasn't the only person who thought an embiggened J70 was a logical choice given the success and reputation of the OO model, and the light railway/tramway/shunting yard feel of so many O gauge layouts. Maybe one day it shall resurface!
  16. Considering how camera-shy O15s have proven to be, this is quite a find. Wagon No.30098 with timbers and vac gear not fitted (but with instanter in place) acting as a transporter wagon for the carriage for an 8in howitzer. Before anyone asks, it is unlikely we will be tooling up this variant 😄 interesing though! https://www.steampicturelibrary.com/railway-war/first-world-war/8in-howitzer-gun-carriage-open-b-wagon-swindon-20172672.html?mp=2#v2_scrolltoinfo I know the pic is in The Bible BTW - it's just this is such higher quality.
  17. It's possible that the G or maybe even the G W was on the metalwork as per the wartime livery of some wagons, and maybe they did just paint over it?
  18. A quick heads-up on APT-Es. DC / Analogue APT-Es are available to purchase. When we released our DCC-only spoof livery APT-Es, lots of people asked if we would consider offering a DC/Analogue version, well now we do! Both the blue/grey and swallow versions can be ordered from our website for £379.95 per set (2 power cars and 2 coaches), plus there are the last few DCC Sound versions for £479.95 per set: https://rapidotrains.co.uk/apt-e/ Limited stock available so get your order in quickly!
  19. The O gauge J70 is not happening any time soon due to not enough expressions of interest. Y6 0-4-0T No. 7134 was loaned to the USATC from 1942-1944, is this the loco you are referring to? If so it is the J70s smaller relative. USATC livery was usually black or grey with TRANSPORTATION CORPS - US ARMY written on the side. The Allied star was usually for road/air vehicles.
  20. Glad you got it sorted, we will be advising the factory that they may have been a bit over-zealous with the grease.
  21. Evening, I've posted in the product thread about the mistake in the instructions 😬 Brake parts - warehouse staff have checked and we do have a very limited stock of spare bits including some extra brakes for the 4-plank. If you would like one to upgrade your single-sided braked wagon to double, please drop me a direct message on here.
  22. Oh dear, I think we've made a blunder here. We had intended to include these earlier on, then they got removed from the design but seemingly not the instructions. Sorry about the error 😑 we have more staff now which should mean we can do more thorough checks on printed material etc.
  23. Hi Zunnan Before you fit a stay-alive, if the loco is getting worse with running-in then it may be a fault and it could be best to drop us a line via our warranty form: https://rapidotrains.co.uk/warranty-form/ Where people have been having bother it has tended to be because they have not been run-in, but as yours has gone the other way this may be the best course of action.
  24. Yes that's right, looking at the outline of the wording on the side I am not sure that it specified Shrewsbury (unlike the Tyseley ex-Fruit van) but it is an attractive livery.
  25. Sorry if it was not clear - the only CAD outline I currently have set up is the V14 version, we are awaiting a few tweaks to make the V16 one available. Note that the pictured wagons are not the full range which is yet to be confirmed, but I hope they serve as a sample and a way for people to feed back (as we really want to get these to be as good as we can).
