A new super detailed Class 67 perhaps?

I think you are right. It’s such a shame they didn’t tool up the different interiors as the actual model itself is very good and stands up well considering the model is quite old now. The price is very high for these which is probably why there are some liveries such as the Arriva trains wales version that is still available from many retailers. I guess it could be possible with 3D printers to maybe produce your own interior that is more correct, however I currently don’t have that level of modelling skill 😂

I actually quite like the idea of TT:120 and will probably buy a few items once the range has expanded. I do like the idea of the correct gauge for the scale, however as with everything in model railways, there will always be compromises. The gauge might be correct, but the compromises are elsewhere such as the huge flanges on the TT wheels. Hopefully as this scale progresses, they can make the flanges on the wheels smaller. I remember when N gauge & 00 gauge also had giant pizza cutter flanges in previous years but now both have most often very fine flanges. I am sure TT will go the same way eventually. What I actually like is seeing a new scale in the UK being born. This provides us to own a piece of model railway history!

Ahh I see what you mean. Sorry I misunderstood you. The buffer beam hole on both of my Manors goes all the way through and the hook was a tight fit on both so it would stay in position without any glue. But I put glue on mine as I use the screw couplings to haul my trains. I would suggest a very fine drill bit and drill through and then glue the coupling in place. Might be worth contacting Accurascale for support to see what they would recommend as I don’t know if I would be brave enough to drill through the model 😂.

I would guess they didn’t do a Wessex one because the tooling for the interior is incorrect. All of the Wessex class 150/2s were 2+2 seating with some tables and the model tooling is for 2+3 seating.

It does look good. Sadly out of stock. It just shows that it is possible to produce this livery with the artwork! I think a Wessex one in the main range would do very well

I do think that a new range of MK 1 gangway coaches are needed. I understand that Bachmann have just upgraded the chassis on their MK1s but I think it would be good for a new model to the standard of recent releases such as the Accurascale MK 2. And to my knowledge, the MK 1 has never been produced with window beading or internal lighting and there are also the different types of bogies such as the commonwealth and b4 etc so there is a good range of coaches cover. The Bachmann MK1 coaches are good, but I don’t think they are up to modern standards now. The Hornby MK1 is also not too bad but is more of a basic model so there would probably be room for both on the market.

Good afternoon. I am just starting to plan my very first model railway layout. I have chosen to model in O gauge and the plan is for a small modular layout that can be extended if the future allows. It will be a small space layout and have built the baseboards already which are 6 foot by 1 foot scenic and a 5 foot by 1 foot fiddle yard. It will be a single track small branch line terminus set in the present day. The idea is for this to be ideal for the upcoming Heljan class 153. The station will fit a 2 coach DMU. As it will be set in the present day, I am on the look out for some modern image O gauge signs. In particular I would like some modern speed signs. I have looked online and can only find Old style BR era speed signs. Can anyone recommend where I could find some modern O gauge signs? Failing that it might have to be a make my own situation. Many thanks.

I completely forgot about Wales & West! I think you might be right there. The black, red, & orange were probably Wales & West. The blue st Ives and looe valley were definitely Wessex trains. FGW also did a blue livery on 153333 with “Visit South Devon” branding. I remember 153333 was my stalker as it seemed to show up everywhere 😂.

Yes I managed to fit the couplings to my collection of Manors without too much issue. I placed the model upside down in a servicing cradle and then placed the couplings into the hole without any glue. Then once I was happy, I used a cocktail stick and put some gorilla glue superglue on to the reverse side of the buffer beam. I then left to dry for 30 minutes and then added another layer of superglue. By adding the superglue in layers on the reverse side of the buffer beam, you can build up a strong bond and there is no danger of glue getting on the front of the buffer beam and spoiling the model. Im not good at explaining things, but hope this helps. 😀

The latest artwork for these upcoming class 153 units are looking fabulous. I have to say that it is really nice to see some modern Image livery’s in O gauge for a change. I really hope these are popular as there are many liveries that these units have carried over the years. My personal favourite are the Wessex trains colours. If I recall, they had 4 different colours. One black in Devon & Cornwall railways, one red in the heart of Wessex line, one blue in the st Ives bay line, and an orange one but can’t remember what that one was promoting. I am sure I will be corrected if I am wrong. If these are popular, I would like to see the class 150 dmu next. This would be a great addition to the 153 as they often worked together. How is development of an O gauge Manor coming along? (Hint hint 😉). I now have 3 lovely Manors in 00 gauge in my collection. The Manor is my favourite. Would love to have one of these for my O gauge layout that I am currently in the early stages of building. Keep up the fabulous work Accurascale!

I agree the current Bachman’s model is absolutely fine but a Collett goods in O gauge from Accurascale would be fantastic. It’s not too big and not too small either so could be a popular choice for the biggest O gauge layout right down to the smallest.

Yes definitely working inside valve gear on an O gauge Collett goods would be fantastic. I think all round a collett goods would be a perfect fit for a RTR steam locomotive in O gauge. It’s not too big so would fit on even a small O gauge layout.

Today I visited the South Devon Railway as I had a day off work. So I thought I would pay them a visit to get some inspiration for my planned layout. Whilst there, I saw a 2251 class locomotive in the sidings waiting for an overhaul. This is number 3205 which is the sole survivor of the GWR 2251 class. I think that this would be an excellent candidate for Accurascale’s next O gauge locomotive (as well as an O gauge Manor of course). Most RTR O gauge steam locomotives are small tank engines for obvious reasons including space and cost. But the 2251 class is a small GWR tender locomotive that I think would be ideal in RTR O gauge and I would really like to see a model of this in O gauge and think it would be popular as it is a small tender locomotive. I believe it shares the same boiler as a pannier tank. You could even produce it in both O and 00 gauge.

Thanks for the reply. there is no hurry, I just need to intercept the delivery email from DPD so that I can rearrange the delivery for when I am on day off from work. Otherwise DPD have the tendency to take to a parcel collection shop about 50 miles away 😂. Looking forward to having Dinmore up and running. Just need some Accurascale MK1 gangway coaches in chocolate & cream for my layout model of a heritage railway. 😉

Thought I would treat myself to Dinmore Manor as there was a few left in stock. A question for the Accurascale team, What is the current duration for shipping after placing an order? I understand you are busy with the arrival of the class 66.

That is an excellent point! I hadn’t thought about other MK3 style DMU/EMU units. The 455 would be a great choice.

We haven’t seen any more Bachman class 150 DMU’s in new liveries in a while now. I suspect that this is because they have only tooled the interior for the 3+2 seating which means they are limited as to what units they can produce. Perhaps it’s time for a tooling upgrade for this model. I don’t think it needs a complete new retool from the ground up, just a few tweaks to bring it up to the standard of the new class 158. For example they could tool up a new interior for the 2+2 seating that is most common on these units today and perhaps a new low-profile motor like the class 158 has. This will enable an improved interior and lighting features. 150 DMU’s I have used and traveled on all of my life. They are the main units that operate around me so would like to see more liveries produced. Perhaps the following liveries: Transport for Wales Wessex Trains Maroon with local decals GWR green 3 car 150/1 I think those are the main missing ones. Feel free to add any others I have missed.

I am in full support of TT, and I hope to build a layout in TT one day. What is currently holding me back is the current track options. I would like to see some decent track in TT. For example: UK concrete sleeper track with correctly spaced sleepers UK bullhead track with points UK steel sleeper track. I would also like to see model trains with more realistic flanges. The flanges on the models currently available from Hornby look very big and in my opinion, spoils the otherwise great models. If Accurascale can address these issues, then I will be all in.

My money is on Accurascale producing the 153 & 155 as they said in the past they have several units in development and they like focusing on detail and variations so this would fit well with them in my opinion.
