  1. That's great that BTM will continue the range. However, I (mis)understood that Bachmann had taken over Base Toys/B-T Models. I'll have to stock up on T45 cabs just like Tamperman, especially as I've just received SCAMMELL transfers from Kingfisher.... Steve
  2. Hi Paul, I've just found your thread...that is truly amazing! I've had ideas about a boxfile layout so it looks like I'll have to get going with it! Brilliant work, Paul! Steve
  3. I finally ordered a J4 from Daryle at John Day models, paid for it yesterday and it turned up this morning! It's a nice clean casting with a good interior (ideal to add a driver...) and easy to fit wheels that I might be able to steer. Steve
  4. Thanks Bernard, I thought I'd looked there...might even have to get the green one too!
  5. Hi Tamperman, Someone was going to scratchbuild one of these, Ringo I think it was. He got a Bedford TL cab from RTI. I don't know how far he got but you might be able to find out on the Yellow Personnel Carrier thread. Steve
  6. Hi Bernard, I don't suppose you know if there's a Morris Z van available. I seem to have started to collect Post Office vans, mainly red Morris ones... Steve
  7. Hi, To start with, I'd be interested in those English Royal Mail transfers as on your Sherpa! The Trackside LD also has modern Welsh transfers so they'd need to be replaced too. Would you consider publishing a list of transfers? Steve
  8. How far in the future is it, though? This underlines Bernard TPM's point about Oxford and the kit market, especially in view of the fact that Daryle Toney has also recently released a J4 in Royal Mail livery. Steve ps this doesn't mean I won't buy one...as well as Daryle's, of course!
  9. Hi, Are those your own transfers? If so, do you do others? You mentioned them in 'Road Vehicles for a bit' thread. Steve
  10. This just gets better and better, Andy! I remember a friend of mine was in a campaign group outside the station in 1976, just before it closed. The campaign group was concerned with the demolition of the station building. As for the PO vans I mentioned before, I've got some myself now. Brilliant work Andy! Steve ps...as for Army vehicles, have you tried Sgts Mess? They do a range of resin vehicles, some of which would sit very nicely on your layout.
  11. That's what I guessed...looks good though.
  12. Hi Merf, I saw this last year at a Festival of Transport in East Sussex last August. I don't recall BR having any Mercs, being 'encouraged' to buy British...unless you know different. Steve
  13. Hi Bernard, RTI do one now...I was at Ally Pally on Sat, I was even at their stand...on Monday evening I discovered they had released the EA. Grrr....timing! Steve ps Daryle Toney has released a J4. He took over the old John Day range.
  14. That's what I was afraid of...not so much the Seagull, but the VAL and Plaxton Panorama that are 2nd and 4th.
  15. Hi all, Are all Atlas series to a fixed scale? Both of the Stobart series are 1/76th, as are the Buses but I've just received a Burlingham Seagull (from the Coaches of the World series) which looks a little too large. I have heard that it may be 1/72nd. Anyone got any ideas. Great thread, Thanks, Steve
  16. Hi, I love this...takes me back home! Are the vehicles in your Post Office depot from the Trackside range (J2, Morris LD etc)? I have great difficulty getting red paint to look right but you've done it...how did you do it? Steve
  17. Hi Merf, Not sure if anyone has updated this, but Kingfisher Miniatures (9 Plaza Court, Eriswell Road, Worthing, W.Sussex BN11 3GZ (www.kingfisherminiatures.co.uk)) make lovely resin model of the Sherpa. There are 4 variants, '74-82 and '82 on, both are available in van or minibus versions. Sorry if someone else has already mentioned this. They were at OnTrack last weekend, which is where mine came from. Steve
  18. Hi Andy, There are some brilliant books about Irish railways with superb photos:- Irish Railways:Past and Present (MHC Baker), Streets of Belfast (M Kennedy). Great photos of the porte-clochere at GVS. UTA was referred to as 'Ulster's Track Abandoners' Steve
  19. Hi Andy, Former BW models kits are made by: Mid Devon Models, 1The Orchard, Ham Place, Tiverton, Devon, EX16 6PW contact via email at advisorp@btinternet.com or find them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/middevonmodels. For telephone enquiries, call. 01884 255403 or 07791 075238. These are mainly RAF models, other models were taken over by Matador Models. I've been looking at some more of your pics and love the bus depot with the RE and exLT Swift. Where did you get the model of Fane Street school? My Mum lived across the road from it! Brilliant! Steve
  20. Hi Andy, Some of BW Models output is being re-released, though it's mainly Land Rovers (no problem there...) to start with. A chap in the West Country is refurbishing some of the moulds and has listed his range on Military Modeller site. I'll send the details to you ASAP. Regards, Steve
  21. Andy, This is brilliant! Aside from the trains I love the road vehicles...that's a BW Models 'Pig' I take it. Takes me back.... Thanks, Steve
  22. That's not completely true, Gwiwer. BREL built a solitary mk2E/F catering vehicle which they subsequently sold to NIR who used it on cross-border Enterprise services. Steve
  23. I like the Sherpa kit but I really wish there was a J4...there was some talk of one a couple of years ago. On another note, how about this for a Railway Motor? Steve
  24. There's a power car preserved at East Lancs Railway at Bury...not sure what state it's in now. Steve
