Those 3d prints will get rid of the round mould marks on the kit ends. I am going to try making my own roofs, the originals are too thick and never seem to sit flush, i have tried sanding them and its better, but not perfect.
I also try to scribe in the planking near the duckett that seems to be miss moulded.
Have you done the Dapol lowmac? i find the wheels are a really bad fit on them / out of square and derail a lot.
Thanks.

You make these Dapol brake van kits look so good, I have built a couple so far and struggle with the finer details, really like the roofs, I think i need to take more time on models, i have a tendancey to rush through things. Lovely modelling.

I have been trying to think of a way to edge platforms like this but alas i dont have a 3d printer. They look really good.

The more i get into this hobby the more i like the look of p4, i have such a large collection of 00 gauge though it would be a nightmare. They look great.

Awesome track work, everytime i see a photo like that it makes me realise how close together 00 gauge rails are.
-
Really nice, great attention to detail overall, love the point rodding and the fence post wires.

Thats awesome, love the wooden floorboards, how did you do that?

Done some of the point rodding, not sure how to paint them, should i just weather them with the track and ballast?
I have got to make the drop in the platform for the crossing.

Very nice and i must say, what a great railway room you have.

Definitely adds a nice bit of depth.
Hi Barry, if you look at the paints by the Bulleid pacific in the 1st photo they are the ones you recommended to me. Very good they are too,i water them down and spread thinly, give a lovely finish.
Thanks.

A great place to start a layout, C J Freezer said much the same years ago. I started my layout the same way and it has moved on from there but still has a element of the preserved railway on it.
Its your world to do as you please.

I have ordered a set of the Lifecolor paints and will give it a go. If it looks half as good as yours i will post up a picture.
Really like the E1 Class kit build, looking forward to seeing that painted.
Thanks again for the tips.
Paul.

Hi Barry, kind words thank you.
My Farther built me a GWR oval layout when i was growing up in Salisbury, we moved to Blandford when i was ten and i became fascinated with the closed railway. My first job was at Intasco at Shillingstone station in 1986, i used to eat my sandwiches on the platform. When i started the loft layout i tried to cram to much stuff in and as the layout extended, came to realise that old saying "less is more" is always true.
